  1. This has been noted before? or you just added it? And before we go declaring a bug, is it even a bug to begin with? Do they behave like that in real life or is it more like FC2?
  2. Wasn't sure to put this in general discussion or the bugs section, but does anyone else feel the AFM has broken the missiles? I could be wrong, maybe this is how they would behave in real life... But in FC2 a radar guided missile was almost a kiss of death; if I managed to spoof the first missile the second would almost always get me no matter what I did... Now in FC3 they bleed energy so fast, dodging them is a walk in the park. Do one simple turn, no chaff required, and the missile will bleed SO MUCH airspeed it can't possibly hope to catch you. Most BVR fights end up with both fighters closing to almost WVR and then firing a radar guided missile so close it has to score a hit... So I guess the effective range has been reduced...? again idk if this is realistic or not. Just to illustrate my point though, last night I was able to create a mission with myself in an F-15c, guns only, against an excellent AI su-27 with a full compliment of missiles. He managed to fire 2 R-27ER's at me, and one.... I forget the name of it, but the russian version of the aim-9 and I was able to almost effortlessly dodge all of the missiles and then kill him with my gun. He still had 3 missiles left so he didn't run out of ammo... So if this is how missiles are in real life, well awesome because I thought they were too hard in FC2 anyway! but somehow I think we're not giving real life BVR missiles enough credit... Discuss! :smartass:
  3. Oh yeah I was fine. I flew to a base on one engine, by in time I meant before I got on the ground. Once I did, the left engine shut down too by itself oddly enough
  4. So I found out while messing around, its a bad idea to fly upside down for more than 2 or so seconds... both my engines shut down. I managed to get the left one restarted in time, but I couldn't get the right fired up fast enough... so my question is: Is there an established air restart procedure? how do you do it? Is core lock modeled, and that why I couldnt get the right started? went something like this: 1. engines idle 2. Shut both down 3. turn on APU 4. wait for it to spool to 100% 5. start left engine 6. wait for engine start cycle light to go out 7. try to do same for right but it wont go any ideas?
  5. That's the only reason I was happy to see DCS mustang; a prop aircraft simulated to DCS levels. No other sim, save for maybe Falcon 4.32, has simulated aircraft to such a high fidelity. So yeah, I'd love to see ANYTHING modeled in DCS world, they have realism I can count on
  6. While I fully support non-transparent trees and whatnot it'll take some getting used to... I ignore them and fly through them in the KA-50 without a thought. In fact it happened already, I was doing the heli tutorial in ARMA2 and I smacked right into a tree and blew up and thought "oh. Right. That."

  8. I always thought airbases had all the equipment (fuel truck, ammo, etc) automatically... only farps needed the equipment...?
  9. whatisthisidonteven.trk Ok here we go. So the good news is looks like I wasn't waiting for my APU to spool all the way up, is why I was losing my data. However watch the track anyway; some other weird stuff happens. 1. the APU won't spool past 60% until I shut down the left engine 2. I can't get the ground crew to do ANYTHING. rearm, repair, ground power, nothing. Not with canopy open, not on intercom, not a thing. Might be that I made this mission myself and the airbase was considered "neutral" Any ideas?

  11. thanks, everyone! I'll give it a shot, if it works I'll say so, if it doesn't I'll post a track. Made a basic mission with a shilka to shoot some holes in me =D
  12. land, taxi to ramp, start apu, start apu gen, wait til its 100 percent, shut engines down, and bam, both mfcd's go white like i just turned them on. worse, the egi has to realign and it takes forever...
  13. Thank you both! Now is there a way to not lose my flight plan and reset everything when I shut the engines down? even with apu and apu gen on it still does
  14. Did a search, checked the flight manual, still have a few questions: What exactly needs to happen to re-arm and repair in the A10? Does the canopy need to be open? Do the engines need to shut down? If you shut the engines down, how do you not lose your flight plan? I start the APU first (and turn on the APU gen) but somehow I still manage to reset my flight plan... also, if I re-arm and don't shut the engines down, how do I reset the DSMS to reflect this? Maybe it'd just be better if someone could walk me through the proper way to repair and rearm step by step... :cry:
  15. I would like to see the tank side better simulated, too... there really arent any (modern) tank sims that are at a DCS level... That, and i've invested so much time learning the DCS engine that I don't want to learn a new sim engine... (tried falcon 4.32, couldnt get into it)
  16. This simulator was made to simulate aircraft first and foremost. Yes, they've taken steps towards ground forces with CA. They've also taken steps towards vintage aircraft with P51D... But their first priority is going to be on modern aircraft. So be patient with updates to tank combat, I'm sure it'll be brought up to snuff eventually. They can't accurately simulate EVERYTHING right, right off the bat.
  17. I forgot that my brakes on my rudders are mapped as inverted by default, and so I tapped one on take off by accident and careened off the runway, into the radar, flipped, and blew up. Lucky for you all, I saved a track!!! Enjoy laughing at my misfortune. (recommend watching from the F2 view) sofreakingstupid.trk
  18. user made missions can be hit or miss, can anyone recommend some good missions from lockonfiles or ed's website, that are sead in nature? (yes i know the a10 was never made for this role but that doesnt stop people from making missions for it)

  22. latest update fixed the unable to pan issue for me. Cursor problem still persists, but I can click things fine so TBH I don't really care about it anymore.
