Good to hear it is still being worked on. Perhaps the delay is because their dev PC keeps popping it's circuit breakers? ;-)
-
I also bought the Anton yesterday in the sale and have come to the conclusion that there is no method to this circuit breaker popping madness. If you run a track file of a flight, they seem to pop in different places when you run it over and over. It would be good to have an option to turn off circuit breaker modelling. I am all for realism, but this is far too frustrating as is. I am going to bind the CBs to my Cougar MFDs for now though...

A general question about numbers... I am having serious difficulty getting VA to understand numbers. It has become particularly problematic with the new Scan Sector function. For example, even with windows speech training, I have limited success in getting VA to differentiate between 14 and 40, 15 and 50, 16 and 60 etc when said as 'fourteen' or 'forty', 'fifteen' or 'fifty', 'sixteen' or 'sixty' etc. For example take 'Scan Sector, Angels Fourteen for Fifty', VA usually reads this as '40 for 50'. If I try to enumerate the numbers by saying 'Scan Sector, Angels One Four for Five Zero' it repeats that back as 'Scan Sector, Angels 14450'!! I just wondered how everyone else using English has dealt with this? As I said, Microsoft Speech Recognition struggles with this kind of thing anyway. I know this isn't an issue with VAICOM, but unfortunately it presents itself here due to the amazing flexibility and usefulness of the software.

Roger that. I can can confirm that the Jadro does indeed work. It appears I was not using the correct radio! Many thanks!

Ah! OK, thanks for that. I did the first couple of missions months ago and must have forgotten I learned that!! Many thanks for replying!

Just ordered mine. December can't come soon enough now! Commission should be forwarded to the Warthog Project as the excellent video there was how I found out about this!

Hi, I am currently playing through the Spring Tension campaign and have a question about co-ordinates. Sometimes I get a message to take a look at sector 89-73 (as an example from the To Leningori mission), and I have no idea how to find this on the map! How do these sectors translate into what you can see on the map? Thanks

Hi, I noticed today that Vaicom Pro does not tune the radio in the Mi-8. I have easy comms OFF. I have 'Select Tunes Radio' ON. Is this as intended or is there an issue? It has worked so far in all the other aircraft I have tried.

The mission had two MB-339s, both clients so only one spawned. Nothing else. I certainly do think it is a memory issue, but related to this module as I get no other crashes with other modules and missions. Sometimes it just crashes to desktop and sometimes DCS catches the crash and performs a dump. I'll post up the dump next time it crashes with one. In the meantime, I'll keep trying to create a positive replication.

Hi there. Many thanks for the work you have put into this free mod. I installed it yesterday and have been having a lot of fun with it. I am experiencing quite regular DCS crashes with the mod installed though. The log file always contains the following three lines at the end when it crashes... 2019-09-16 10:13:02.394 ERROR_ONCE DX11BACKEND: texture 'vasca339_norm' not found. Asked from 'NGMODEL' 2019-09-16 10:13:03.780 ERROR_ONCE DX11BACKEND: texture 'gunsight339_spec' not found. Asked from 'NGMODEL' 2019-09-16 10:13:04.527 ERROR_ONCE DX11BACKEND: texture 'mb339-cockpit_instr_refl' not found. Asked from 'NGMODEL' I have uploaded the full log as a txt file in case it helps. EDIT : This may be a complete red herring, but if I fly in the unarmed version first in the factory livery then after that it does not crash. I have only tested this two or three times, but it seems to be the case. dcs.txt

Thanks for the replies folks. With ALS engaged, I certainly cannot pitch 20 degrees left or right or 5 degrees climb/descent unless I pull the stick all the way. I certainly would not be able to fly normally in this configuration unless it was straight and level! I have however managed to perfect the ACLS by only engaging the ALS autopilot in the last 3-4 miles of the approach when I am already on speed and at the correct approach vector. So I engage the ALS and then immediately get the command indication to activate ACLS by pressing the NWS button. It is a bit hectic, but I can now land on a carrier at night or in zero visibility.
-
Hi there, I am trying to learn the ACLS on the F14, but I am having some serious issues. Most videos I have watched have you switching the autopilot to ALS and then engaging it during the approach. The problem I am having is that as soon as I engage the Autopilot, the stick needs very heavy inputs to control the plane to keep it on an approach vector before getting the command to press the NWS button for the ALS system to kick in. The trim hat seems to do nothing once the ALS is Engaged. The other two autopilot switches (altitude and heading) are off as I believe they should be. I also have gear down, flaps deployed and autothrottle engaged. Most videos make this look easy, but as soon as I move the autopilot switch to 'engage' I have no control at all! Anyone have any immediate ideas as to what I am missing? Thanks

Just had the cockpit sound cut out while flying around the Nevada desert. F2 view and F3 view sound worked OK after the cutout, it's just the cockpit sound that dies. I have most purchasable modules and I havent experienced this before (only bought the F86 a couple of days ago). Log file and track file attached. F86 Cockpit sound cutout.trk dcs - Copy.txt

Came here to report the same problem, and I am happy to see there is a fix in the works. I am running the very latest version of Open Beta. I enjoyed mission one even with the problem and I look forward to the rest of the campaign.

does Huey UN campaign actually work in 2.5?
Jedra replied to jozeff's topic in UN Pilot Included Campaign
After buying the Huey in the latest sale, I am finding the missions in the UN Pilot campaign extremely frustrating. I have had to edit a mission to make the AI Hinds fly less erratically (and more like they seemed to fly in early videos when the module was first released). The “Race Against Time’ mission is seemingly impossible as either the injured pilot dies or my engine blows up trying to fly as fast as I need to. Even if it is possible, the margin of error is too small. I also think that the missions are individually too long, but this is a matter of taste. I wonder whether the developers of the module regularly re-test the built in campaign as DCS is updated? It makes me reticent to buy the DLC campaigns just in case they are also ‘broken’ as these can’t be edited to fix bugs. -
I have been playing this campaign for the first time today and this mission has to be the worst experience I have had in DCS!! It looks like I am going to have to figure out how to edit and change this mission as it is unplayable as it stands! Very frustrating :(

No save game function frustrating for busy DCS fans

This would be excellent. Like many others, having 2-3 hours in one stint is a luxury! My life with children is spent in twenty minute slots! -
Mission 1 Spring Tension no longer possible?
Jedra replied to Jedra's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Ok, that was the problem. I turned the trees down to the minimum of 30% in the DCS options and violla, the farmstead is now visible and I can land next to it! It’s strange that the missions can be affected like this. But, at least I can now proceed with the campaign! -
Mission 1 Spring Tension no longer possible?
Jedra replied to Jedra's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Yeah, I’m pretty sure I found the right place. I can just see the farmstead in the trees with a couple of vehicles outside. I also found a YouTube playthrough which showed the location on the F10 map and I am looking at the same place. I am wondering if it had something to do with the tree coverage option in the main settings of DCS? Thanks for taking the time to respond though - appreciated. -
Hi, I bought the Mi8 in the recent sale and have just tried the campaign for the first time. In the first mission you are asked to land at a Farmstead next to an outpost. The farmstead seems to be in a very thick forest and it is impossible to land anywhere near it. I have looked at a few videos of people playing through the mission and in those versions (from a few years ago), the farmstead is not surrounded by thick forest. Can anyone confirm that this is indeed the case? Many thanks.

[DCSISSUE] Cant re-select Viggen in Mission editor
Jedra replied to Knock-Knock's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Hi, Here are some log files. For some reason it seems to create two zip files, so I have included both of them. Procedure was as follows; 1. Open DCS. 2. Create new mission in the Gulf (although it happens in the Caucuses too) 3. Place an AJ37S. 4. The AJ37S is no longer 'clickable'. Hope this helps. I have also attached the mission. The .log file will not upload, so I have pasted it into the following; dcs.log-20190318-222452.zip dcs.log-20190308-135530.zip Viggen Placement Test.miz -
[DCSISSUE] Cant re-select Viggen in Mission editor
Jedra replied to Knock-Knock's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Did you ever get a fix for this? I bought the Viggen yesterday and I am having the same issue with regard to selcting the Viggen once I place it in a mission. I don't get the error message you did, but I can only re-select the Viggen if I drop and select another plane first. It also does not properly select, so I can't ctrl-c/crtl-v etc. It's not a killer, but it is a bit of a pain. -
Installing on a new system - what's needed?
Jedra replied to dennya's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
lol - thanks. That's ended now, but it was a DVD/CD version anyway, not digital download. Edit - I have given up with trying to source a digital download and ordered a boxed version from ED's US Site. -

I see. OK, I get that then. In this case does anyone know of a good download source for Lockon where I can purchase it from? -
Installing on a new system - what's needed?
Jedra replied to dennya's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Hi, I am interested in getting Flaming Cliffs 3 and this post seems to be roughly the same topic. I have BS2, A-10, DCS World, Combined Arms installed already but I have never owned any of the previous Flaming Cliffs or Lock On titles. I am struggling a bit to understand the dependencies with FC3. From what I understand it is a DCS World module, but somehow needs to see a previous installation of LO:MAC too, which can then be deleted after installation of FC3 - is this correct? My problem is trying to source LO:MAC as a download in the UK. I can get a boxed version from the US or from the second hand marketplace on Amazon.uk, but not as a download from the ED site it seems. I think I must be missing something as I can't see why FC3 would require a 10 year old game to be installed first when it is a DCS World module anyway. Especially as the pre-requisite game is not available as a download. Is it just a case of ED wanting to make sure your purchased the original? If so, I would rather just pay a few more pounds for FC3 rather than go through the hassle of installing LO:MAC, or at the very least they could bundle them. Or, does it use resources from LO:MAC? If so, then fair enough! The morale of this post is - Do I really need LO:MAC and if so, does anyone know where I can download a digital version? Ps. I am not complaining about this, I am just struggling to see the reasoning behind it all.
