  1. Gave it a try yesterday. Found chaffs are not implemented in BS which I consider a bug (they're most definately implemented in RL). Chaffs may be of little use -- read sites claiming modern weapons were able to compensate the effects generated by chaffs -- but they'd provide us with a little chance at least to fool an incoming missile.
  2. That'd probaly require remmote lua file editing capabilities at the server...
  3. I saw this only in MP missions so far, but then it's been like "repair" -> "HUD works" -> "few minutes later, HUD off". IIRC my ABRIS went black as well, but I'm not sure with this one. During the very same MP session I also encountered a "Crazy Ivan" GPS/GLONASS in the ABRIS after shutdown and repair. It seemed to be some extreme kind of fix acquisition (similar to my RL GPSr while waiting for a fix), so it might be normal.
  4. Great stuff! +1
  5. Only this carrier? ... ;) The more and more pictures show up in this thread, the more and more greedy I become ... ;)
  6. ...Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common\FMOoptions.lua change "HelicopterTrimmerTauInverse" to a suitable value.
  7. Hehe, I'll give it a try the next time ;) On a more serious note: Chaffs are being offered by the ME so I'd assume they're usable in game as well?
  8. As I'm trying to learn more about the threats I face on the battlefield, I wonder if chaffs are useful at all. At least, they're offered in the loadout tab...
  9. The BS2 crash files might be located in your "Saved Games" folder in "DCS BlackShark2\Logs" (Win7 here, so I might be wrong, though).
  10. Is it the same login as fort the forum or would I have to create yet another account?
  11. :v: You should have given this one to Glowing Amraam before he collected the footage for his new video, though... ;)
  12. Good one, thumbs up!
  13. Check PeterP's signature for a guide to seperate rudder from trim. To alter the trim behaviour, checkt Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common\FMOptions.lua, the line with "HelicopterTrimmerTauInverse" might be your friend. Not sure, though EDIT: Just check the first post. It contains a link to a very good description of the FMOptions.lua file contents.
  14. sobek, the Flight Manual claims the opposite. Hence the Stby. SAI handling I guess. zoomie36, you should be able to "reset"/recenter it by pulling the knob (as if you'd cage it, just omit the turn on the knob). It might take a while (some seconds), but the indicator will return to its centered position.
  15. As far as I'm concerned, BS1 shows a way better performance than BS2. BS1 with loads of eye candy (HD Pit, Flares mod, Runway and landscape textures mods, etc.) and all options maxed out (mirrors on, heat blur on, etc. pp.) doesn't drop below 30 fps. In BS2 "stock" (i.e. no eye candy) and most options set to "medium" (no mirrors, no heat blur, no HDR, etc.) I usually get about 30 fps, easily dropping below 10 (especially when there is smoke or "scenery" about). (i5 2500K, 2x5770, 8GB RAM, DCS @ seperate HDD)
  16. FULL ACK noc, nothing to add here!
  17. Flight Manual pp. 6-73, 6-74 fig. 6-48. An Idiots Guide to what aspect of radio communication? The Flight Manual provides quite some valuable information specific to the Shark equipment, else have a look at faa.gov or similar websites.
  18. Similar here - Cannon and Rockets, Missiles do just fine. I simply ignored it (i.e. didn't fire) as the clearance was given under obviously incorrect(inappropriate conditions.
  19. Check the hemispheres betwen the four red dots, they tell you if you're being lazzzzed from above or below (noticed the zzzzzz? sound of teh evil, I assume). Additionally, there are indicators that might show you if you're lscked already or not (but that might depend on the grandma ;)) It doesn't drag your nose onto the attacker but can give you a pretty valuable clue about its direction.
  20. Supposedly yes.
  21. Hit NumPad Enter when the zoom appears. This returns your zoom to the configured settings. If this is not what you intended, search for "default head position" in the forums. There are quite some hints available that might help you in tunning your SnapViews.lua...
  22. No need to set affinity manually in BS2, all cores are assigned by default.
  23. If running on Win7/Vista, checking the Virtual Store (C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\VirtualStore) might help. Simply reinstalling DCS as in uninstall and install should work without loosing an activation... EDIT: Also check C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Saved Games\DCS BlackShark 2\
