  1. As far as I understood the actions triggered by breaking the seal with the throttle lever, yes. But as I cannot acces my notes and links atm, I have to admit I might be wrong. However, my comment was meant to refer to the "additional axis" thingy. The additional way you'll have to move the throttle lever to get WEP does probably not allow for any kind of fine adjustments (especially when in a fight for which WEP was meant?). IMHO the seal and gate are just meant to require an intentional although short movement of the lever by the pilot with the seal providing some protection against unintentional WEP activation (and an additional visual cue for the ground crew, maybe). Briefly said, a kepress will do the job just fine although it might not match the visual experience (GUI). Keypress and the earlier WEP lever might match better ;)
  2. There is no "gradually opening" with WEP, as far as I understand the mechanics of the engine, so a mere keypress would do the job pretty well. But as sobek knows way more than I do... It might leave some sort of "touch of inconsistency" though, as the newer quadrant is being used. With the old quadrant and his dedicated WEP handle, things might be more obvious to the user. However, as with the throttle levers of the Shark, I'd consider this less serious/important than negligible ;) And from a pit builders perspective, it should be even easier to implement (simple microswitch, for example) than an axis command.
  3. Yep. I spent ca. 70,- € (Joystick and BS1) and took off. But once I was addicted, it became really expensive... :/
  4. Yup, no charts :( But headings and other data at least ;) It seems as if MIL and most of the regional CIV aerodrome data of eastern europe is being kept in the dark.
  5. Maybe sligtly easier to use: http://www.the-airport-guide.com/ All you have to know is the aerodrome code.
  6. I don't know if this had been posted here already. If so, I apologise. However, it seems to be a pretty nice summary of the evolution of the Kamov coaxial rotor helicopters. I don't know russian, so I focussed on the footage ;)
  7. AFAIK yes, you can. I kept my BS1 installation, but that's more due to nostalgia ;)
  8. You're not alone, I assume. ;) :)
  9. If you want to click the switch just click on the lables. And yes, the switch is spring loaded and will return to its center position once released.
  10. There seems to be a limit of concurrent sessions per user (IP?) at the FTP servers. Either download from different servers simultaneously or don't exceed the limit (3 concurrent downloads iirc). The best alternative is the Torrent, though. ;)
  11. No changes afaik, rudder pedals must be centered to avoid funny tailsweeps.
  12. Similar applies to the dials. They flick to "first" from "last" position and vice versa. ;)
  13. Could you provide a track? Haven't done an EEG test since ages (yes I know, lazy guy trusting the ground crew etc.), but I cannot remember having seen this behaviour. EDIT: OK, got it. For whatever reason, this switch is designed so it doesn't accept any more LEFT clicks when it is at its upper position (as I always expected it to be but never saw until just now). Didn't check if the same applies to RIGHT clicks when the switch is in its lower position. Solution: Just RIGHT click the switch to bring it from FT2 to FT1.
  14. Praying for the souls to be found alive and well...
  15. Looking for sponsors, Riptide? ;)
  16. Us rotorheads only have lift, while fixed-wings have lift and thrust. We have to spend a reasonable amount of lift to generate thrust and since lift becomes more expensive (in terms of fuel efficiency) the higher we fly, fuel efficiency decreases as air density decreases. At least that's what I understood from (e.g.) the Rotorcraft Flying Handbook (FAA-H-8083-21, 8-1 ff.).
  17. Also in 1.0.2 you could have english labels in the cockpit. Check the "Cockpit Language" setting in the "Options" screen (iirc it's on the first page). I'm just uncertain regarding an english Betty - I always liked the russian voice so much ... :)
  18. You can switch the cockpit labels to english as well as you (then) have an english speaking Betty. But wasn't this already the case in 1.0.1?
  22. Still taking the virtual tour - amazing. Thanks for your writup and the link! :)
