Flight Qualifications Campaign
bunraku replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
Hi On the Basic Training for the A-10C I am having an issue with the Time on Target. When the ToT is given it is given as +5 minutes. So to me it must be more than 5 minutes. So if the time on the clock is given as 2348 and 15 seconds then I am rounding up to 2349 and adding 5 mins to 2354:00. This seems to work ok for the 2 L/L and the 1 UTM coordinate, but I am late for the Bullseye Offset coordinate. This is getting annoying as it's causing me to fail the entire mission after flying for quite a while. So when am I meant to get there in releation to the clock? Exactly 5 mins from the time on the clock when the waypoint is called or more or less than that? Thanks -
Thanks Sabre.

Does anyone have a picture of the map or guideline to the edges of the MAO? I've been caught out leaving it and it's annoying to fail so far into a mission because of this although of course it's my bad.

Thanks HMA. That's me sorted as like you said I was entering all on the one line. Thanks again to everyone.

Have a look at this Video. If the embedded doesn't work then click on the direct link. https://youtu.be/MT55JghdD6M I select the X emergency strip at Kobuleti in the F10 Map. Coordinates at the top of the screen are N415033 and E0414752. Dials set to Mission and Other and I create a name called NAV1 for the waypoint. I then enter the 6 digit Lat and 7 digit Lang with no letters. I also put an altitude in for good measure. As you can see in my HUD the WP is miles away in another direction and doesn't even appear on the map. What am I doing wrong? Thanks again

Hi I am doing the Maple Flag basic campaign and am having an issue for entering Longitude and Latitude. Steerpoint Dial set to Mission and Page Dial set to Other. I've watched even a video of someone doing the exact same mission and he is given coordinates of 434319N and 411705E. He enters the first 6 and then tells you to put an extra 0 in front of the latitude to make it 0411705(No letters at all). He then enters elevation and TOT and job done. I've followed those steps exactly and my Waypoint is not where it's supposed to be? I've watched a 2nd video where the narrator puts a N in front of the first 6 numbers and an E in front of the 2nd so it looked like N434319 and E0411705. If I try and enter it this way the N coordinate is accepted, but not the E as it come sup with a CDE error. Please help thanks!!

Hi Is there any way to illuminate the buttons on the NMSP? At night I have turned on every light control I can see and although the instruments are all lit up the NMSP isn't. I can just see a faint triangle when a button such as ILS is pressed. Thanks

Thanks mate

Hi I am doing the Maple Flag missions at the moment and they have a Hard Deck height restriction not to go below. I know you have the Alt Alert button on the UFC, but am not sure which settings to use ASL/MSl and how I know I have set them to function as I can't see it's activated. I found the section in the manual, but it's still a bit unclear for me. Thanks

Thanks for the replies.

Hi For some reason I find the hog easier to control in 1.5 than I do in 2.0. I believe I have the same settings, but just in case I want to ask if it's OK to import the controls configuration or whatever file it is from 1.5 to 2.0? Thanks

Thanks again for the info guys.

Much appreciated. Thanks for the detailed reply.

None taken, but I wouldn't say it's as clear as all that. Anti collision when I already have Taxi or Nose wheel lights on? Are people blind that they can't see the first 2? Thanks again
-
Hi Lights. There's a lot of them. Taxi Lights, Nosewheel lights, Anti Collision Lights,Formation Lights etc etc And the controls are not always in the same part of the cockpit. So my questions is what lights are valid in what situation. When are they used and also are they only used at particular times of day? Thanks

Are the Maple Flag Training Missions just exams or actual training? I just got them and the first 1 is engine start uo etc. I have docs and advice from 10 different users with their engine start up process and of course I have my own way. It seems to be just a test and no training so how do I know I am doing the startup to the Maple Flag standard or am I missing something?

Hi I do lots of PC gaming and lots of variation. I do some flight simming using a joystick and also rudder pedals. However other times i'll do first person shooters and sometimes although not always my character will start spinning or just shoot the gun until the clips empty unless I unplug the things I use for flight simming. This can be a pain as I have to access to the back of my PC and it's not in the most accessible place and also when plugging them back in it goes through all that found new hardware program. Is there any way I can disable/reenable the flight simming stuff through Windows 7?? Thanks __________________

Ah not just me then which is good' but bad from everyone's point of view. Do we have all report the same bug or do they read these forums?

I just flew the hog myself and looked at. TGP only and still crashed.

Hi I've been trying to film closeups of the CBU-105's in action and every time the tanks start exploding the game is crashing. I've been using them in action myself and had no problem, but this time I am using an AI F-16 to drop one. I am also the the Lctrl+F11 view to get close to the rocket booster phase. As you can see in the video below it crashes every time. I've got a high spec pc and I've dropped these before with no crashes. So I know it's not the PC, but I don't know whether there has been a patch that's caused this or it's the camera angle or something else. I have repaired DCS World so I know it's not that either. Any idea? If the embedded video doesn't work then click on the direct link. Thanks https://youtu.be/ILv5qbhdiaM

Hi I am trying to video the action on the CBU-97/105 cluster munitions once the canister has split into the parachuting skeets . I follow the canister in F6 mode, but as soon as the separation phase happens I lose the individual parachuting weapons. The only way I have been able to follow them is to select the target vehicles in F7 and then zoom out a bit and then I can see the parachutes descending. Is there any way to see closer whats happening after separation? Thanks

Too be honest no. I was chaffing and had my jammer on but as I thought I was at least 2000ft above maximum altitude I didn't do any escape maneuvers.

Hi I just got killed by an OSA at 21500 feet firing an SA-8. According to docs I have downloaded from the User Files section of DCS it should either have had a max altitude of either 16500ft or 19500ft. Obviously the documents are wrong so where can I find the correct figures? Thanks
