  1. I landed today and applied both toe breaks and even with these pressed down and speedbrakes the plane kept going at about 50kts. Eventually I pressed W on my keyboard and that stopped me dead. Why are the toe brakes not doing the same? I thought simpler joysticks just had a combined single wheel brake using the W key command and the toe brakes were just replacing the single with separate wheel brakes, but still having the same effect of braking the aircraft. So what am I missing? Thanks again
  2. Thanks again for all replies and please criticise away. It's the only way I'll improve. On a funnier note. The wingman crossing my nose by millimeters at 2.20. I've never seen that before.
  3. Hi Just got the Saitek Pro Flight Pedals and the Warthog Hotas but having some issues. I filmed the instant action take off from DCS 2.0. Video should be embedded, but if not direct link is at the bottom of the page. First issue is keeping it straight on take off. You can see me make a slight correction and it all seems ok. but then it goes pear shaped at around 53 seconds and i start to veer. I'm not sure if I am under or overcompensating with the rudder pedals Second issue is the trimming. You can see when I take off there is a big dip of the right wing at 1:07. Whats causing that? And also it takes a hell of lot of trimming to level out. Is that normal using the HOTAS trim buttons? And thirdly what the hell is my AI Wingman doing at 2:20??? :) So any advice on hardware settings or flight controls appreciated. Thanks for your patience. I assumed once i had these pedals and HOTAS it would be so easy, but it's not so forgive my ignorance. https://youtu.be/147hoZjkeOk
  4. Thanks guys
  5. Hi Just changed to the warthog hotas and got pedals too. The pedals are new to me as with my old Saitek I just used wheel brake. I'm not sure if the old wheel brake was the same as applying both toe brakes together or if it means something different. Perhaps someone can clarify. Any how my main question is when to use them? Just for taking off and landing or purely braking or for steering too?
  6. The GUI would be fine, if I can work out how to split the increment into 3 bands. On my old X-52 Pro it was split into 3 with 10% 80% and 10% with the 80% being the deadzone. Worked fine for me. Thanks again
  7. I have to say that so far Saiteks software is much better or at least more user friendly. Used it for 5 years and you pressed a button and told it what key to use or you right clicked it and split into bands for multiple functions etc. There were also separate columns for shifted states.I haven't got a clue what you do with these scripts and I'll need to study that manual Thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it.
  8. Hi On my old X-52 pro I use th slider wheel on the throttle for zooming in and out. In the Saitek software I split the slider into 3 bands. Forward band was zoom in and aft band was zoom out and the middle 80% was a deadzone. How can I do the Sam wth the TARGET software? Thanks
  9. Sorry you've lost me. I'm not sure what you are wanting me to do. On the link you posted there is a long code. I'm not sure of this is what you want me to do something with or follow the advance targeting script under the code? Either way I haven't a clue what to do with the code? Isn't there a do load for a profile like the Saitek software? Again thanks for your help.
  10. Thanks for all replies.
  11. Hi Just got the hotas warthog so have the trim button on my stick. I am just wondering if people do long presses of the trim direction they want(and do long pushes make a difference) or do you have to do multiple button pushes to trim. So if your nose is banking down do you hold trim up for a few seconds or do you have to press trim up multiple presses for the effect?
  12. Hi Not a beginner, but have just upgraded from a Saitek X-52 Pro all plastic with Rudder Twist, to a Metal Warthog Hotas with Saitek Rudder Pedals. One thing I do notice straight away between the 2 sticks is the strength required to move and more importantly hold the stick in position. That's goona take some time. :) However the reason for posting is I really want to know more about when to use the rudder as opposed to roll for steering. With my X-52 I mostly only used the rudder when taking off and that was pretty much it. After that I used roll for steering. People are probably shuddering reading that, buti don't know any different. So when should you apply rudder when flying as opposed to banking to steer? Just taking off and maybe landing? Steering? In combat? I'm mainly talking A-10C gun control here. Thanks
  13. Had TIR5 or 5 years and never knew you could assign a joystick key and always thought it had to be keyboard. What an @sshole!! At least that is centering sorted. Thanks Dburne Now for zoom. I have never heard of or used autokey before. I have installed and downloaded both scripts, but am not sure what I am doing in relationship to my warthog hotas. So if Sokal or someone else can talk me through it I'd appreciate it. Thanks
  14. Thank Sokol. That's my next step. Ok I am fairly ok with saiteks software, but new to Target. All I am wanting is one button configured. The S4 pinkie button to do the command F9. I am sure I have done it right, but when I test it nothing happens.Screenshot below showing my programming mehod. I also installed the drivers from TM, although I don't think they were required. It now makes the 2 found/unplugged new hardware beeps when I test and come out of testing. I'm not sure if normal. Programming. Testing no result.
  15. Great minds!! I was already thinking of the grey slider for zooming in and out and the am thinking of 2 possible buttons for centre view. One is the Red Throttle Button and the other is the one hidden by a long black lever on the joystick at the base that your pinky can use(don't know the name). I am not sure if either button has a function already assigned.

  17. Ok. Removing LCTRL worked. Thanks guys. Next question. I have TIR5 and although you can zoom in by moving your head, when using guns I like to go as close as I can to the HUD as possible which TIR doesn't do. I had this assigned to the slider on my X-52 Pro and I used a button for centering my view. So if any of you have the hotas and TIR what button on the hotas do you use for centering and can you suggest a zoom in button? I may have to download the thrustmaster software to assign as a shifted function I appreciate. Thanks
  18. Thanks guys. Will try tonight.
  19. Ok cleared everything I can see and no luck. It definitely works as I can see it in windows moving although it says a POV button. but in cockpit nothing. I have attached all my settings as PDF's. Can anyone see anything obvious. Really desperate to fix as this was my main xmas pressie and it's spoiling my day. :) I also have to start working out as compared to my old Saitek X-52 Pro these are literally no pushovers!! 20. Thanks Sporg. I thought that was for helo's and I am fixed wing?
  21. Thanks Dburne. I'll give them a try.
  22. OK I will, but my understanding was it was pretty much plug and play with the A-10C.
  23. Hi Just got the Saitek pedals from Santa and taking some getting used to compared to my old twist joystick. Is there any way to lower the sensitivity? Thanks
  24. Hi. Just got the warthog from Santa and the other buttons are moving on the throttle and. Stick, but not the trim. So I'm finding it a bugger to fly level. Have i got some sort of autopilot engaged preventing trimming? Thanks
  25. Ok. So looks like I will have to download the TR software and assign at least 1 of the buttons to centre TIR either assigning a not used bottom or a shift function which I assume it has? I take it that if I only use the TR software for just 1 function only it doesn't mean I then have to assign every other function too or will it still work the plug and play method except the 1 function I change? Hope that makes sense? What does everyone else do flying the hog and using the warthog hotas do if they have TIR?
