  1. I have never played Jane's F-18. But nowadays models (I am thinking C version) can display a map on the MFD(s). Which is even better in my opinion =] (http://www.voodoo-world.cz/hornet/info.html)
  2. No, RWR are not able to tell you if emissions are friendly or hostile. By analyzing the radar emissions (I guess frequency, wave length, power), it is simply able to tell you what kind of radar is around (plus a relative position based on power)
  3. Doesn't the AIM-9X have a heat sensor which is functional? I am pretty sure it does and is used along with JHMCS
  4. As far as I know, RWR is analyzing radar emissions which scan your plane, their power and frequency. So to determine a lock or launch, the system has to pretty much guess. I think it is correct to say that it is an empirical technology. I have always wondered how reliable actual RWRs are. In theory it is ok, but when you actually engage bandits..
  5. I will give my 2 kopecks too =] Some 3D cockpits were announced because ED is able to manage finishing them before FC3 comes out. I think the remaining cockpits are simply on stand-by. If I remember correctly, FC3 will be the last of this serie. It does not mean that it will not be supported with several updates. Bottom line: Reserving such a great improvements only for the F-15 would probably have provoked to many complaints. So it was decided to add a few ones; statistically I am pretty sure the Cy-27 is the most flown jet (and it is the most similar to F-15). I assume that A-10's cockpit from DCS: A-10 was providing more than the base (but do not have the knowledge to be sure about it). And again, you want to balance "red/blue" so you add Cy-25
  6. Well I do not know how it works actually. But I was never mistaken by doing so in FC2. If you have got an EOS lock and then turn radar on, after a few seconds (time for the radar to scan) you should have the correct informations.
  7. Other possibility: In WVR (especialy) engagements with several planes in the air (friends and foes), you can scan using EOS. If you got a bogey and you lock it, then switch radar on (and off if you want to go silent again) to determine wether it is a friend or hostile
  8. Wouldn't it be even more accurate to use the same target?
  9. I totaly agree with this idea
  10. Hi everybody, I am wondering if there is a trick which would allow me to be able to use my Winamp shortcuts while I am flying ingame. The keys I am using are mostly ctrl + alt + del/end/home/page up/down/ insert. ED's games are the only ones I encounter this problem with. Well I know mostly all the keys are necessary for the planes..but still it is pretty annoying :) Thx in advance, Grigs
  11. Are you one of them? :)
  12. Do we have any real FA-18 pilots here on the forums?
