Hilarious, people damning the F35 on its supposed flight performance stats, while totally overlooking the fact that its 5th gen avionics, sensor suite and datalink are its real killer features..... F35 doesn't need to surpass or even match the F15 (which it apparently does): war is not about top speeds or acceleration, its about information, information and information!

To be fair he's not alone on this forum - lots of folks here seem to have been raised in some fantasy world in which sov/rus hardware is always either superior or equal to Nato's, but NEVER inferior. i actually feel a bit sorry for them; it must be a rude awakening, as shown by the unending paranoid rants and conspiracy theories I suppose....

Can't help feeling that people are seriously missing the point of 5th gen tech. F35 won't have to take the punishment the A10 does because its radically advanced radar, sensor and weapons delivery systems will be exponentially more effective in spotting, sharing and neutralising threats, both on the ground and the air. 5th gen dumps all over ALL previous tech from an enormous height, but what baffles me is why some people can't/won't grasp this.....emotions clouding judgement perhaps, but why.....?

1.In RL and in sim, does the Aim-120 have a proximity fuse? If so, at what range does it detonate? 2. In sim, is it possible to uncage the Aim-9 seeker head to lock it directly without using radar? Thanks

Just a thought, but does anyone foresee a problem when the DCS:F18 with AFM goes up against the FC3 fighters using SFM....unfair advantage?

I have the same problem, the F-15 is always very nose heavy...

I'm thinking of upgrading my joystick and would appreciate opinions on whether or not force feedback should be a priority in my next stick, i.e. does it add a lot of immersion in DCSW? Thanks Mandrake

Anyone else sick of cowardly weasels disconnecting just before they die? Happened to me twice tonight, first guy i caught cold at 10nm, he dc'd as soon as my aim120 went pit bull, the second idiot caught my slammer then hit exit before he crashed, denying me the kill. These people clearly lack the mental strength to deal with losing a game, so how about overruling their innate cowardice by building in a disconnect timer, which counts down from 30 secs before you quit the game or change aircraft? And yes, I realise that by coincidence these guys could have crashed to desktop at the telling moment, however life has taught me that this is very unlikely :smartass:

@Zart Arn: your dynamic campaign contains 3 missions, on two of these missions fighters have full access to all missile loadouts, aim120/R27ER/ET/R77, but on one of these missions (01 Aggression of Georgia) these 'advanced' missiles are restricted and we can only use aim-7/R27R/T.... It seems strange that there are weapon restrictions on 1 mission out of 3, is there a reason for this? Cheers Mandrake
