Hello ronin, hello everybody! I saw your video and it helped me to grease up mine. At this point I have done it few times so I can do it with my eyes closed. Anyhow I have problem with finding right grease. Tried to buy Lewmar grease but in my marine local store it is very expensive and have to wait a few weeks for it. Tried on Lewmar internet store, but grease costs 27.74pounds + 47.49pounds (for shipping) = 75.23 pounds = 125 USD. I thought this is too expensive for grease. First, I tried with Tamiya Cera-grease. That was almost no better at all. I thought that was too thin. After that, I tried with Yacco Graisse Marine which looks very dense but stickness effect was even worse. (Green color) Finally I tried with also Yacco grease but different type. This was high pressure, little thicker then marine version and red colored. This grease is the best I found but it is not perfect. I feel it can be a bit better. So, I would like to ask whether someone found affordable grease that works well, similarly to Lewmar but with acceptable price in some internet store (at least under 100$). Thanks.

I can imagine that, because my mother tongue belongs in the same language group as Russian (Slavic languages). I believe that both languages have similar complexities of conjugations and grammar :P.

I have grow up in ex Yugoslavian country therefore I have learned Cyrillic in elementary school. Maybe it is time to refresh it and learn few words of Russian to stay up to date. :pilotfly:

I have checked Wags posts, the last one is from 2-23-2014 that he got contact that he needs about RFI for M1A2 SEP. I'm not complaining just wondering. Hope this silence is just teaser for upcoming big updates.
-
Sure. I believe he is busy. But how much time takes to write one sentence "We are busy on preparing ...". I'm starting to worry about him
-
I'm wondering if somebody knows something why there is no official updates from recently and where is Wags? I've got addiction on at least one official news a week and now when it's gone I feel the pain in my bones all the time. I'm sorry if this is not appropriate place to start this thread.

I doubt that such bad modeling is fault of the sim. I saw very good airplanes for X-Plane (although I don't prefer it) as well as for fsx although they have different approach on modeling. For instance occasionally I'm flying Accu-Sim C172 trainer on P3D - very good flight model.
-
Indeed. I have tried few times with X Plane but it never feels right. Now I stick with Prepar3D and DCS.
-
All right. It seems that DCS AFM and X-Plane are handling physics similarly. EDIT: I'm going to grease up my Warthog instead of being such smartass :).
-
Generally I agree with your thinking, but the interesting fact is that Austin Mayer swears in his X-Plane that it does exactly that: computes flight dynamics according airplane geometry in real time using blade element theory. I'm wondering how much truth is in that. Here is video that shows forces calculated in real time. EDIT: More documentation on that topic: http://www.x-plane.com/desktop/how-x-plane-works/

Agree. But I hope that they will start releasing final versions too. I know they were waiting for ED but anyway... :joystick:
-
Maybe new F15C module does not need to wait for 1.2.8 :P
-
Maybe. But it seems too soon according previous update frequency. And where is Wags and DCS Official Updates? Long time no see.
-
This is great news! I was afraid that we will have to wait for 1.2.8 update. Can't wait for late March...
-
Yes, that would be really great addition to the realism and it is not complicated feature to develop. I suppose, it should be mandatory fature of the DCS WWII.
-
Thank you for advice, but I have done that before starting the thread. I have one more mission without crash. So far so good. Hope it will stay this way.
-
Excuse me. No. This is not true in any terms. Anyway, eventually I have got BSOD. After turning off some of the overclocking settings in BIOS, finally I didn't have crash while flying a mission. Maybe that was source of my issues but I must fly few more times to be sure.
-
Thank you for reply! I already have DEP tuned to monitor only essential Windows and services. So, I don't see how it could affect DCS execution. Moreover if this is source of exceptions, there would be much more complaints on forum community. I will try to play with msconfig and turn off some suspicious services.

I have done little more testing. Overall memory usage stays around 5GB so it is all right. Anyway, this time I choose to debug application upon crash. Of course I don't have pdb files but I could recognize that DCS crash is caused with problem in uh1_protect.dll. I have two crashes recorded, both with access violation reading exceptions in uh1_protect.dll. I have bought, installed and registered all dcs modules as befits. Here are windows exception report, call stack and output from VS for these two crashes. First one happened while flying A-10C in Sitting Ducks mission, and the second one while flying Huey in Fast Mission. Both crashes happened at random point and cannot be brought in connection with any of my actions. Crash 1 Crash 2 please :helpsmilie: EDIT: Meanwhile I have found this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=113757&highlight=uh1_protect.dll Indeed I have many versions od c++ redistributable installed also. Next time I will try to uninstall some of them and check how it goes.

I'm not sure if I understood this correctly. Are you thinking on virtual memory and page file size? I saw that exception occurs in zlib.dll. I checked version and it appears that file has latest available version 1.2.8 Stack overflow might be produced by multiple function calls when variables spends all memory reserved for stack. Usually source of the problem is bug in some iteration (usually recursion) that falls in infinite loop. VS has default stack size 1MB so it can be spend really fast no matter how much free RAM you have. I could try some backtraceing but I don't think I will see something useful since I don't have source code? Indeed I have custom defined page file size because I wanted to be as small as possible. I will monitor memory usage while flying a mission. Maybe we have some type of memory leak in new version that doesn't produce problems when page file is big enough.

I took a look into log files. Here are some errors I have found: dcs.log me.log Windows exception report Does anybody recognize something? Thanks!
-
No. I didn't added anything new lately. I'm aware that my description is not enough to diagnose issue, but I hoped that somebody with more experience might recognize cause of the problem from attached log files.

I have crash at random point while flying A-10C mission. I didn't complete mission since 1.2.7 update. Here is what I have done: -Delete DCS folder in user saved games folder -Uninstall DCS and clean install with 'Run as administrator' -Update/repair c++ runtime and DirectX -Update graphic card driver My config is i5, 8GB RAM, SSD, GeForce 760 GTX, HOTAS Worthog, TrackIR 5, Dual monitor but DCS configured to use one fullscreen, Win 7 x64. All DCS modules installed. These crashes happened while I was flying Sitting Ducks mission but it happens in the others also. I tried to disable anti virus (avast) and turned of OCGuru too, but crashes persisted. In attachment are my log files of last two crashes and Windows crash report of last one. If some other data would be useful please let me know (maybe procmon log?). Any suggestion would be much appreciated. Thanks crash_log.zip
