  1. Thank you Lilkiki! I'll give it a try.
  2. I'm relatively new in flying helicopters so I'm not sure how to properly assign HOTAS axis with helicopter controls. I would be very grateful if somebody more experienced could post his TM Worthog profile for Mi-8. Beside hotas, I have TrackIR and custom pedals. Thank you very much!
  3. I feel little better now because I have arguments for my wife that I didn't gone nuts... at least I'm not alone :). :joystick:
  4. It appears that there are no rules.:music_whistling: Only common thing is passion for flying. Although I must mention that I haven't found such friendly internet community till now. I feel here as a home. Thank you guys! Suchacz, thank you for sharing the picture. You have beautiful little pilot. My son have just turned two. For a little while I will show him fs too ;). My first sim was Microsoft Flight Simulator 3.0 that was in use at late eighties. My parents couldn't afford expensive PC but I had neighbour whos father owned computer company so I was often his guest:). Anyway, I had Spectrum ZX 48k and Commodore 64 at the time.
  5. Thank you for replies. I'm also flight simmer for more than 20 years although not continuously.
  6. Hi everybody! I was always curious what kind of people are interested in flight simulations. My friend once said that average flight simmer is employed, married and has a children(or child). Are you for sharing some stats here? I have graduated Mathematics & Computer Science, employed as a software developer, have a son. Thanks, Marin. :pilotfly:
  7. Steel111, Welcome to DCS! Please don't get me wrong, just want to point out that DCS is simulation platform not a classic game. So be prepared to study. Every DCS module comes with good manual so it is advisable to take a look on it. Most mature module is A-10C Warthog and Black Shark, so they are good places to begin if you want to study high fidelity simulator. If you want to start with something less complex maybe Flaming Cliffs 3 is way to go. Community is friendly so don't hesitate to ask if you get into trouble. Good luck!
  8. I agree. We are on fire  . What is an estimate release date? Wags said that real F-15 pilot found some areas that need more adjustment. That was two months ago. Hope that progress has been made since then.
  9. I agree, but it would be nice to have some predefined curve settings that are as close as possible to the real thing.
  10. There is anecdote about Euclid. If student asked him what the point about learning all this stuff about geometry he would give him permanent suspension. Let's don't be that cruel to those guys. First time they feel enjoyment of accomplishing some complex tasks in the sim they will know. Or they will not. Anyway don't be cruel.
  11. Merry Christmas everyone. Winners, enjoy your praises!
  12. Even you have perfectly straight stick it does not mean that A10 will fly straight. DCS World is very detailed sim, so due to many different parameters like weight balance (fuel and weapon), wind, damages, etc. flight path can be affected dynamically during the flight. Therefore plane has trim feature that allows pilot to compensate those various distracting factors. Good luck! m.
  13. Me too, me too! DCS Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight is missing in my collection. Thank you!
  14. I would recommend you to uninstall everything and delete all files from install destination folders. Then download DCS World from here http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/ and A-10C module form here http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/modules/dcs_a10c_warthog/ This should install correctly. Good luck, marin
  15. Hi! I'm not an expert but I think that better joystick with rudder pedals would make a difference. I had Logitech Force 3D Pro but it was really bad for precise flying. Recently I bought TM Warthog HOTAS and that's it. First flight was miracle. Plane goes exactly where I want. It was impossible with the old stick. Good luck!
  16. I'm almost up and ready for new and shiny DCS. TM Warthog is on the way and TrackIR also. Being software developer I understand all issues that those guys have to overcome. In this superficial world I can imagine that is really hard to keep flight sim market alive. They will always have my support. Just keep it up! ...and for update of the core feature such is graphics engine few months delay is really understandable.
  17. Hi Cowboy10uk, Maybe you could try to reset all control mappings. Here is quote from 1.2.6 news post: Changes in this patch include keyboard and joystick input profile updates. Unfortunately this means you have to delete (or save as a backup if you wish to keep them for a possible revert to an older version) the user keyboard and joystick folders found on your Windows drive directory \\users\User Name\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\UH-1H\. Doing so will require you to remap your controls after re-launching the game. In case you didn't realize this, it could be an operation you may have to do in the future again as we continue to update the input settings of the module. Of course, you could try to play with collective curves also. Good luck!
  18. iPad and Warthog This is my first post, so hello everyone! I'm using iControl DCS which is very cool app for iPad and Warthog. It is third party application from "one man band" but it is pretty ambitious project with good support (from my experience). It allows you to extend cockpit on iPad in bidirectional manner. So you can use touch display to control your beast. Since it is only one man behind application, hope he will continue with work on new features and fixing bugs. Here is link if someone is interested http://bit-shift.com/icontroldcs/index.html
