Ich hatte letztes Jahr die Rift für zwei Wochen mal ausprobiert und schließe mich größtenteils den Vorrednern an. Die Auflösung ist einfach viel zu gering, man kann keine Instrumente mehr vernünftig ablesen (ausser man geht nah dran), so dass man zB die Höhe nur an der Stellung der Zeiger ungefähr abschätzen kann. Ich denke mal, dass es mit der nächsten Generation VR Brillen bestimmt besser wird, allerdings erfüllt schon mit den "alten" VR Brillen kaum ein System die Voraussetzungen, um es halbwegs hübsch und mit guter FPS laufen zu lassen. Wie das dann erst gehen soll wenn die Auflösung vervierfacht wird, bleibt mir zumindest mittelfristig ein Rätsel.

It's exactly 22.3GB with 645 files in 60 folders. It was 13GB to download. Maybe all modules and all maps together have 110GB.

First, I understand ED's point bringing existing aircraft to FC4, because the development will be pretty easy. The FM and the 3D model can be reused. Making other plane like Su-17 or even F-22 would require a complete new AFM and new 3D model for each of the four planes - maybe that might not be worth it. If they have very low production costs for FC4 and only new players will buy FC4 it can be worth it. I am pretty sure ED knows that people who already own a full fidelity module won't buy the simplified one. Second, I don't think there will be simplified planes of any 3rd party devs in FC4, maybe except from Belsimtek. So the list of possible planes narrow to the following one (in my mind): ED: A-10C, KA-50, L-39, maybe F/A-18C and why not one of the WWII planes Spitfire, Bf109, FW-190 and P-51 Belsimtek: F-86, MiG-15, F-5, UH-1 and Mi-8 Maybe the planes in FC4 are a mixture, like FW-190, KA-50, F-5 and L-39

DCS asks to activate the map when you select it in the mission editor for the first time. If the Module Manager doesn't offer you the WWII Assets Pack and the Normandy map, try to open autoupdate.cfg with notepad and add this text: "NORMANDY_terrain", "WWII-ARMOUR", with the " marks in the autoupdate.cfg file somewhere between your other modules which are listed there. After that use the repair DCS function.

Ich meine Wags hatte mal gesagt, die Persian Gulf Map kommt vor der F/A-18 raus. Wenn die Karte bis ende Mai im Vorverkauf sein sollte und mit dem Ende des Vorverkaufs erscheint, kommt die F/A-18 also frühestens im Juni raus.

Es kommt doch die JF-17 von dem chinesischen third Party Team raus. So wie ich das sehe ist das Ding doch halbwegs auf Augenhöhe mit der F/A-18 und der Mirage. Ist zwar jetzt nicht direkt russisch, aber immerhin ein Ost-Flieger. Außerdem kann man auf der Persian Gulf map die kommende F-14 als realistischen red force Flieger nehmen, ohne das es unrealistisch wird.
