I am starting this poll, because many players complain about RAM Problems. To get an idea of the amount of system RAM the average user has, please select your quantity. If the number doesn't fit to what you have installed, select what is the closest. If you use DCS on more than one rig and these systems have a different amout of RAM, multiple choices are possible.

Hängt bei DCS der Grafik RAM und der Hauptspeicher nicht zusammen? Wenn meine Graka also nur 4GB hat wird sie doch eher auf den Hauptspeicher auslagern, so dass hier zB 16GB schneller zu wenig sein werden als es zB mit 8GB VRAM der Fall ist. Oder liege ich da falsch?

At first it's a bit of a challenge to land on short runways, but you are getting used to it pretty fast. It is even possible to land the MiG-21 without the drag shute on a 1600-1700m runway. You can use every flyable aircraft on these airfields, maybe not with full load, but that makes it even more interesting. By the way, the shortest runway of all maps is not in Normandy, but on the Persian Gulf Map. On the island west of Dubai is an airfield with a 800m runway. The shortest in Normandy has 1100m or 1000m if I remember correctly.

If you don't want to download 100GB you can just do the following steps: 1. Start to install DCS on your new rig, go through install process until the installer starts to download files, then cancel the setup process. 2. Copy the complete DCS folder from your old rig to the new one, including the DCS folder under "C:\user->your name->games (that's optional if you want to keep your logbook, settings and mods) 3. Run "repair DCS", the installer will download a few files and you're done.

Persian Gulf is still in beta, so there is hope for a fix.

It says "8GB low graphics setting", "16GB for heavy missions" "16GB high graphics settings", "32GB for heavy missions". I got massive lags with med settings FHD in a mission with three aircrafts and one ground unit (so not a heavy mission). If 24GB are needed, please ED make it the officiall min. requirement. Two month ago 16GB worked fine with Persian Gulf missions. My rig: i7 2600K @ 4.4Ghz 16GB GTX 970 Samsung 850 512GB SSD

Will this be fixed in the near future or is the new minimum system requirement for the Persian Gulf map now 24GB Ram?

Well, yes and no. A C-130 landed and started several times from USS Forrestal, but all other aircraft had to be removed from the flight deck because of the enourmes wing span of the Herc, so the Navy decided to use the C-2 Greyhound for aircraft carrier delivery instead of the much bigger C-130.

The OV-10 Bronco could start and land on an any US aircraft carrier and on LHAs without any special equipment - no catapults, no arresting cable and hook and could have some nasty weapon loadouts.

Genauso ist es, ich werde von der C-101 angestrahlt, obwohl die kein Radar hat. Ich benutze die stable Version. Die C-101 hatte übrigens 2x Aim 9P und diesen GunPod mit 2x 12,7mm MGs. Falls das irgend eine Rolle spielt.

Nein, ich bin in der MiG-21 (C-101 habe ich nicht als Modul) und empfange Radaremissionen der AI C-101. Nur hat die C-101 kein Radar. Grundsätzlich stellt sich jetzt die Frage, ob das ein Fehler an der C-101, an der MiG, oder an was anderem liegt.

Ich hatte mir zum Üben eine kleine Mission erstellt: Normandy Karte, 2x AI C-101CC (blau) vs Player MiG-21bis (rot), sonst gab es keine Einheiten. Beim Head-on Flug sich mein RWR. Wie kann das sein, soweit ich weiß hat die C-101 kein Radar?

Da habe ich die Seite https://www.flightradar24.com verlinkt, dort sind fast alle Flugzeuge mit eingeschaltetem Transponder sichtbar die auf der Welt rumfliegen. Man sucht sich ein Flugzeug in der Nähe aus, klickt drauf und erhält Höhe, Geschwindigkeit, Typ, Start, Ziel und den zurückgelegten Weg. Dann schaust man aus dem Fenster, ob man das Flugzeug sehen kann. Mit Hilfe von Google Earth kann man die Entfernung messen.

Ich glaube da ist es wesentlich näher an der Realität einfach aus dem Fenster zu schauen.

Das kann man ziemlich einfach mit dieser Seite https://www.flightradar24.com machen. Such Dir ein Flugzeug in Deiner Nähe aus und schau ob Du es am Himmel entdecken kannst. Am besten nimmt man natürlich Flugzeuge in Kampfflugzeuggröße , also eher Privatjets als Airliner. Zu beachten ist ausserdem, ob man wirklich das Flughzeug sieht, oder nur dessen Kondensstreifen.

Ich warte dann noch etwas. Wird die Anleitung für das NS430 noch in Deutsch übersetzt? Ist ja ein ED/Belsimtek Produkt.

Da ich mir die Anleitungen immer gerne ausdrucke, aber keine unfertige Anleitung "umsonst" drucken möchte, würde mich interessieren ob die Anleitungen für die Viggen, Mirage 2000C, Gazelle und das NS430 Navi soweit final sind?

Da Razbam nicht so viel Landmasse haben möchte, wäre ich schon zufrieden wenn wir so eine Karte bekämen wie angefügt, alles andere würde wohl flach fallen. Man beachte besonders die Ecke ganz im Süd-Westen

Wobei die RS-2US nicht gerade eine Steigerung der Kampfkraft der MiG-21 darstellt...
