Sorry my mistake, thx for clearing that up

Scarcasm....I love it, seriously, waiting that long for this game using the same inefficiant code and still using starforce is probably gonna lose me, No I dont expect anyone to care, just giving my opinion I hear that russian copies dont have starforce.......strange policy seeing as how Russia has a rather large hacking/stealing community

Yes if the main rotor is still driving a gearbox, it will have a torque reaction....I think I allready said that, but not all helicopters do this, if the main rotor has a one way bearing (sprag clutch) there will be to all intents and puposes no torque transmission between rotor and fuselage
-
I think the confusion is down to the fact that many full size helos dont fully dissconect the rotor from the drive in such sutuation and are still spinning some on board componants,,, but a true freewheeling rotor does not transmit power (torque) to whatever is hanging below it, autogyros are another example, ever seen one of them with a tail rotor?
-
Nope your way off, WHEN THE ROTOR IS NOT DRIVEN by an engine mounted in the fuselage THERE IS NO TORQUE reaction to the fuselage, go read up you dont have to take my word Why do you imagine that certain helicopters driven by tip jets dont require an anti torque device? this is basic physics, guys:rolleyes:
-
Sorry but thats wrong when in autoration there is no torque reaction in fact its something I practice with my model helicopters, ....take engine to idle(drive clutch disengages)...tail rotor slows down and stops and you autorotate down keeping some forward speed and airflow over the rear to weathervane and flare for landing, its standard procedure if you get a tail control failure the above refers to systems where the tail drive is not mechanicaly connected to the main rotor when engine stops driving, there are also helicopters with a "driven tail", that remains mechanicaly connected to main rotor when engine stops,...these allow a modicum of directional control during autorotation as they are kept spinning by the mains

Ooooooo xmas eh? Obviously, I have no idea when it will emerge, but if they leave it that late, I imagine many customers will be lost, I'm just about calling it a day on this game anyway its only the thought of a good helicopter to fly that keeps me hanging on, but since its using the same very inefficiant code as lockon and will use star****, then having to wait that long will probably be the final straw that makes me leave the whole thing behind
-
I never use the autopilot I only fly the frog and find using it more trouble than its worth, I just trim when needed, although maintaining a given alltitude is very difficult like this, I dont really feel the need to stay within a 50 feet window...it just doesnt matter to me as for using it to stabilise before weapon launch, as many recomend...... well I have much greater success just flying the damn thing

Proof that a fighter is only as good as the pilot.
Crusty replied to Cobra360's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
One fact I know about the f22 is, it costs a lot,....my opinion is it costs waaaaaaay too much for what it will give back More a "hey look what we can do" than a usefull tool, a bit like all the silly gadgets we get these days fullfilling "needs", that dont exist beyond some marketing nerds reality -
No pc stick I know about does this, the x45 definately does not

Good point..2000 mile range, ...any idea how many in inventory and how hard a target the missiles themselves are? p.s., does Strategic. Arms. Limitation. Treaty still exist in any form? -
German Phantom crews having some fun
Crusty replied to MBot's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I dunno fun and danger often go hand in hand, they all look like they put themselves in the situation on purpose, tho probably not at the time fully understanding what a phantom at full tilt would look, sound and feel like just a few feet above there heads:D -

Hmm, imo no b52's would even make it to target, dunno.. anyone like to give what they think the battle plan would be for all out us v china? Sorry I know its a bit OT, but its an interesting point Ik made -
First get hold of two 19 year old valley girls, a dvcam and...no wait.... .......sorry I couldnt help myself:beer:

what was this thread about anyway ?, :icon_jook
-
yea there are some funny Americans, Glen Larson's far side stuff still cracks me up, first time I realised some of you guys actually enjoy cheapshot irony ...which is a good thing and of course Frank Zappa, tho many didnt appreciate his comic greatness and just saw him as a Brilliant/mad musician :icon_supe

Bwaaaa..haHaHa

I use realflight g3, it has online multiplayer too, which can be great fun it helped me a lot especially when trying to nose-in hover my helicopters, which was giving me major brain farts till I got the sim (crashes costs are always an intimidating factor when a model is worth upwards of a £1000) others might recomend reflex xtr p.s. it comes with its own dedicated tx-style usb controller
-
I wont go into the problems I have had with starfu*k, remember there is an embedded fanboi-ninja outfit waiting to launch a brainless stream of abuse at anyone who does so
-
fs9 ....oh its gone now, perhaps it was not to forum specs and got removed..ah well

Lock On is slowly but surely vanishing from the radar
Crusty replied to a topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I disagree, online functionality is key to any game/sim I buy, I would not buy a game that did not have usable multiplay
