Hi, I've flown Lock on/DCS for a long time and own most of the modules, but my experience is almost entirely choppers and ground attack planes (mainly the the A-10C and Ka-50.) I've flown the red flag campaign and learned a lot about the A-10, but I want to learn as much as I can about flying fighters in preparation for the hornet. I've chosen the F-15C as my aircraft for this endeavor and was wondering if people know any good reading sources or a good way to practice A2A combat. I'm willing to put in the hours and study this until I can fly a fighter effectively. I have played the trainings and understand radar operation and things like that, it's just actual combat employment I am lost. Right now my main problems are when I enter a BVR combat situation I fire a couple of missiles and use my wingmen as fodder, then I end up pulling Gs and spamming chaff/flares until I die. Every time I enter a guns fight I end up in an endless turning battle with the enemy until I run out of fuel or disengage. How to you perform evasive maneuvers after firing off some AIM-120s? do you try and fly as high as possible, or dive low and use the terrain? I should mention that all of my experience is PvE against AI, as I can only fly online on AU/NZ servers (the ping checker kicks me from any other server), and they almost always seem to be empty. Also if the AI can turn me into paste in a matter of minutes I shudder to think what players would do :joystick: Anyone willing to help a hopeless aspiring fighter pilot out there would be much appreciated!

yea u gotta cycle DMS right short until u get the "L" for laser mode. I made that mistake a lot

I can't believe I never really used these bombs before. I was missing out. They are insanely powerful. Taking out multiple tanks with one bomb never gets old

How do you change the Laser code?

I got back into DCS a few weeks ago after a 2 year hiatus and I'm blown away by this campaign and the NTTR map. I find myself just staring at the gorgeous views in transit to the target area and loving every second of the combat. This is what I'd hoped DCS would become when I started back in 2010, and I hope for a similar quality campaign for the hornet!

I got this message and still passed the mission. It's just an AI bug I think. Might be something to do with your attack heading as well.

I feel like this is a repeat of when the P-51 got announced and many people wanted a modern aircraft only environment and were upset that ED was developing a warbird instead of something modern. Yet it has evolved into a seperate WWII theatre where people who enjoy WWII units can play DCS level aircraft there, and the profit generated from such a thing has helped ED to bring us the Hornet I'm sure.

would the GTX 1060 work in my system? also how would I check the power of my PSU short of taking the computer apart? I've upgraded the gfx card in the past. Maybe about 3-4 years ago, I had a Raedon thing that was woefully out of date and I put the GTX 750 Ti in it, but didn't have to change anything else. Hi, I have the option to upgrade one thing in my current setup in preparation for dcs world 2.5 and the hornet. It's old, so I don't think I can upgrade the processor, but I was wondering if more RAM or a better video card would make the most difference for DCS. My setup is : Intel i7-2600 @3.4 Ghz (4 core) | Nvidia GTX 750 Ti | 8GB RAM | My pc is a Dell XPS 8300 from 2011 which is quite old so like I said I'm pretty sure I can't upgrade the processor but I was wondering what people think I should upgrade. Currently I run DCS 1.5.8 on medium-high with a stable 40-50fps without mirrors (which reduce me to around 20fps) Thanks for any info

im currently playing the m2000c official campaign and loving it. can't wait for this red flag one, and hope to possibly something similar for the harrier in the future, but it makes sense that these things take a lot of time to create

Hi I have had this problem for a few days now, but ive been trying to get Nevada to work. With help from a GM here, nevada is fixed, but my installation of M-2000C has no missions. I tested that the module actually works, I'm just missing the .miz files from my M-2000C folder. How can I get them? EDIT: I have tried re downloading mirage, and also still does not have missions. In my folder only it has "Quick", and no Training, Single or campaign.

If you can even come close to completing this, it is very impressive, as the Huey is definitely not designed for killing IFVs and tanks!

I hope if we ever see Mi-24, that these will be an option :)
