List of all available NDB- and VOR-Sites
VIMANAMAN replied to Lino_Germany's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Thanks Lino, useful stuff. -
Yeah I couldn't agree more. DCSW is more than a little 'dry' when it comes to place-able static objects, to put it mildly, which sharply contrasts with the beautiful aircraft models. Yeah, Rangers (and others) mods are great, and go along way to helping with immersion. But you still need to spend time (a lot of time, often) placing objects to create what you want. (and the ME doesn't make that easy). I was so frustrated by this 6ish months back - I broke my personal rule of not using mods. And now I'm modelling my own from scratch - as a student project I'm working on a mortar pit with ammunition, etc (to compliment the existing weapon) - still learning but pleased with progress so far - if I do anything OK (that doesn't melt GPU's) I'll share it. Meanwhile here's hoping ED will have some extra content for us with 1.3.

What version of Max do you use/ want to use

2012 to all 3 Q's. -
Wow, unless my eyes deceive me, even the pitot tube flutters / vibrates! It's tiny details like this that really 'put you in the cockpit'. Nice vid!!

Do have one idea of the weight of these cargos ?
VIMANAMAN replied to Skulleader's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Hi DSPALLASVI, I think it might just be because your using missions that aren't designed to include these new cargos... To test just go into the Mission editor and just create a new 'mission' (file) - save it as anything - select static objects (from the icon menu on the left - it's about three quarters of the way down) - select cargos - and hopefully you'll see the other cargo objects listed. If they're there - which it sounds like they should be - then you could open the missions you want to actually run, in the mission editor, and change the cargos as required, save and away you go. EDIT - changing an existing mission MAY break some the mission designers triggers - so save a 'virgin' copy first (obviously - sorry dunno how much you know already about DCS :) ) Hope fully this is the issue... -

You don't really say what you've tried / looked at so far - so gonna assume basics - have you read this - http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98607 -
Do have one idea of the weight of these cargos ?
VIMANAMAN replied to Skulleader's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Should work fine - is there anything else in the folder UH1_cargo? It should just be 2 folders -Bazar & Scripts - (move the folder to 'available' and right click to 'explore'). If there's a readme or similar that might prevent it from working. If so save a copy, lose the RM - then should work - for Ammo / Bambi / F_bar / Jeep (no Generator). -

Vehicle Upgrade Pack 1 for DCS:World
VIMANAMAN replied to beczl's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Thanks Rudel, But The pack I've got in mind put Ranger's vehicle pack together with Beczls's vehicle pack v1.2 - what do you think? EDIT - I guess that's a daft Q as you've answered it already, above - but if you think this might be OK...? -
Vehicle Upgrade Pack 1 for DCS:World
VIMANAMAN replied to beczl's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Hi all interested in this, unfortunately the update on this is... ...After re-reading Beczl's EULA (many times)... it's pretty clear I shouldn't re-distribute his work. And as Beczl hasn't, and isn't likely to, reply to my request to do so - I'm not going to stick my arse out of the window - so sorry once again. A real shame as I've been using this mod pack on and off, since 2012 and they're really beautiful models. @ Boris - sent PM to explain problem earlier - Got your reply, thanks :) -
please make the "auto rudder" a server set option
VIMANAMAN replied to 9.JG27 DavidRed's topic in DCS Wishlist
+1 It needs to be an 'equal playing field' - correct rudder control is a key skill with tail draggers. -

Ranger79 Base Objects Pack (Hesco's + others)
VIMANAMAN replied to Ranger79's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Ok Cheers Ranger. Yep think you're right about Beczl. I'll upload it when I get a mo - just need to check whether the readme's are in or out, and find the best route. Thanks -

Vehicle Upgrade Pack 1 for DCS:World
VIMANAMAN replied to beczl's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Yes, a real shame. Beczl is an excellent artist, his models are truly awesome! I wasn't really expecting a reply, but wanted to ask the Q anyway, before posting anything. I'll post it in a few days (assuming Ranger's happy) if I don't get a PM or something... Cheers guys. -

Hey Beczl - Do you have any objection to me uploading a JSGME mod file that combines your vehicle pack with Ranger's vehicle pack? -

Now we have 1.2.8, when engine temp will be implemented?
VIMANAMAN replied to sondo214's topic in DCS: UH-1H
+1 Yeah, something doesn't seem quite right at present - EGT readings too hot? Just hovering at sea level, in a slick with 100% fuel (otherwise empty - with no cargo), albeit at 20 C, puts the temps on the limit. Seriously: Great module, great work BST! But some tweaks surely needed still? -
Yeah a wind sock would be really useful, and an immersive addition to DCSW. Surely they're basic kit at airfields all over the World? Especially useful with dynamic weather, where it's not possible to get a visual wind indication from smoke markers either. Look for chimney smoke, or blow something up :) are the only options at the moment - And as has been said, wind direction is obviously very important if you're playing with quite strong winds with certain aircraft. I've read in the past it's simply not possible - but I can't understand this as destroyed vehicles smoke like crazy and this effect demonstrates both wind strength and direction nicely. Surely if 'fire smoke' can show this in standard & dynamic weather, then marker smoke can be made to, and if marker smoke can can be made to, then surely a new object can be animated using the same arguments. But that's very easy for me to say - as I'm not a coder:D But it would be an addition greater than the sum of it's parts, if such a basic thing as a wind sock could be added to DCSW, (& getting the smoke markers moving with DW).

I’m reasonably familiar with standard NDB homing / the DCS presets and have got on fine with adding my own in the ME… …but now I want to use specific freqs to add to a mission – the guard / emergency freqs as I understand things are 121.50mhz / 243mhz (the old ELT’s anyway). I can currently receive any .ogg file I place in the ME fine on these frqs, on all radios in the frequency range, i.e - the AN/ARN-82 set (for those like me who find these names confusing - in cockpit label NAV-COMM), the AN/ARC-134 (in cockpit label VHF) and the AN/ARC-51BX set (in cockpit label UHF). But a bit of research leads me to believe that SAR Air Teams can home on these frequencies? Am I missing some know-how (most likely), or is a specialist radio required that we don’t have to play with? The two sets that are easy to home on i.e. – AN/ARC-131 set – (in cockpit label FM) & AN/ARN-83 (in cockpit label ADF) are (as I understand it) not capable of receiving these frequencies? Can anyone help / shed any light on guard freq homing? / Homing using the 51 / 82 / 134 sets (more specifically) :) (Merely from curiosity anyone know why the guard frequencies – 243.00 & 121.5 are multiples of each other? i.e. 121.5 x 2 = 243 - Is this some bizarreness of radio frequencies, or what:)

Yeah as per Samek's post - awesome job Belsimtek!
