Guys im having EXACTLY the same problem... I'm working with SF on it but they words still out... I will return to this post with an answer hopefully. Until then... I can play 1.12a when the disk is OUT of the drive... what happemns in a week when starforce wants to re-check the disk?

If you guys were wondering about overclocking and motherboards, next time you upgrade you should really give DFI a look. I built my first computer 2 months ago and was a little scared at the OC options which the DFI boards have. There was no need to be... DFI knows people love to overclock and they make high quality boards that really give one options ... Hell it even has memtest IN the bios! So all you have to do is enable it, reboot, and memtest comes up...lol

Hrmmmm i recall my very first contact with this game as sometime late in 2004, around your join date of November 2004. I ended up earning 169th wings late in 2005. At any rate... you're right Hawg ... keep playing the still awesome version of 1.02 and enjoy the new pilots. I know for you it will be hard, but do try and hold their interest as they walk through the door. I promise I'll pop in to inform them that there exists a place where more advanced versions of the game are played; one thats not parsed in the terms "1.02 Has Strong Online Following at UBI, More Overall Players Than HL At Times" Thats all this was really about... I don't speak for Jaws or anyone else... I do however agree that qualitatively HL is the only place to play. as for 1.12 being on UBI? Dunno... my hope is that all people learn that there's something more than UBI. Something I know alot of new people aren't aware of.

Hi Hawg11 Yeh I was little bit charged up. My impression was that there was an old hand 1.02 pilot who enjoyed shooting down noobs and I let my feelings get the best of me. Some things however, are evident. Here's the deal... when I went to UBI Online and informed all I could, a significant amount of people had no idea and were happy to know that the people had upgraded. My point (and I described this before) is that the frontloaded UBI gives the impression that UBI (and thus 1.02) is the only place to play. As for the quote "Telling a new 1.02 owner the ONLY way to fly online is buy the Flaming Cliffs upgrade and go to Hyperlobby to fly is just wrong because its not true." No one has said this, why would they… if you’re in UBI talking to people it would be rather ridiculous to convey that. I imagine this thread is about done… the points are taken and I still encourage all to head over occasionally and inform any 1.02 players that’s there’s a community beyond UBI’s.

ok.... I downloaded and installed UBI online stuff and at 11am GMT 24 people were on... granted all of them were 1.02 but these people need to be aware that HL exists and that there IS a community that has decided to upgrade from 1.02... I pm'd them all... most didnt understand english and I couldn't babelfish too quickly.... I informed quite a few though and hopefully they'll be coming over just to look... They see the numbers and hopefully they'll upgrade lol I strongly encourage everyone to head over and make them aware of HL.. I'll also be making a UBI thread titled "Play Online With Hyperlobby" and will be occasionally bumping it so it stays on the first page UBI Online? WHatever!!! LOL

Study, work, money, complexity, problems.. yes (to varying degrees) to all of that... This conversation however is mainly about how many NEW players mistake Ubi as the one and only place to play... refer to warthog anecdote above... How many out there WANT the online experience but it passes them by due to the frontloaded ubi online software? I don't know but when that person reported 4 I just couldnt believe it. M8's ... i just want see more HL traffic... not that I don't think you guys are great... I just want more people to shoot and more people to shoot at me... Jiri Fojtasek of HL may want money and in that respect i could see how it would be a challenge... again... there's a whole slew of matters that I do not know about... This thread is a pure rant really.... just wishes and advice

I have no way of confirming this but a new guy was in HL and talking about how 4 players were on a ubi online mission... If this is true, anyone want to venture a guess at how many players we loose to ubi online? Meaning, they get Lomac, install it, install the ubi online, go to ubi, think its a dead MP game because no one is really on, and then for whatever reason loose interest in the game (possibly because they're really into the online experience and end up thinking it's not there.) Say what you will about how any person should have the ability to come to this forum or even ubi's and see that HL is the place to play but... im not convinced... I wish Ubi wasn't even involved. Remember the rough figures that someone quoted once... 50,000 copies of LO:FC have been sold in ONE chain store in north america... yet i see no proportional increase in HL traffic (and yes.. factor out the people that dont have the patience to really learn the game...even then it's low.) I'm considering re-installing the game and going over to catch people playing on it and informing them of HL. ANy other suggestions? Have i missed something? Please tell me if i have

Sure man.... but i would just warn you that your FX-57 is still a bad ass.... and thus I wouldn't expect too much from even an FX-60. However if you like the newest technology and that sweet ass unlocked multiplier I would say go for it.

Yeh I consider us fortunate to get out of the engadgements alive, but the terrain, AWACS, bandit mistakes, and the 2v1 situation helped us. Between Prophet and I we have 2 of the 3 flight tracks... I'll get them to you via "yousendit" (or somehow) if you like. Layout is as follows: Flight 1 non-manuvering Su-27 kill at 9:23am with high angle and side aspect R-60 shot from Fudd Flight 2 non-manuvering Su-27 kill at 9:34:30am with low angle head on aspect with R-73 from Fudd manuvering F-15 kill at 9:36am with medium angle and side aspect with R-73 from Prophet

SATAN ... not sure about the core question and how it divides the workload of the computer. On a program to program basis I think it must divide the workload up among the 2 cores. I had this web page open, launched LOMAC, opened up winamp, Team Speak, and had all the other normal stuff open...and the resources were coming in at 60% as I played songs on winamp etc... anything above 50% and both cores are working. Do I notice a improvement when using multiple applications? ...yes I do. I came from a s754 Athlon64 3200 and the difference in multitasking is noteworthy. What it comes down too is I can have Lomac running for hours along with Team Speak, Team Speak Overlay, X-52 Software, Norton Corporate, and Hyperlobby and the sytem is still responsive to alt tabbing out...changing a mission on the 169th server using a remote viewer, possibly opening up a web page and I can still go back and play lomac.... I really enjoy the dual core, and I think it will hold its value extremely well

P.S. Anyone else qith a similar setup think full shadows looks crappy? All Planar seems much better... not jagged like "Full"

The jumping FPS... thats why i used the program FRAPS.. it's a generally good and repeatable way to compare FPS results Zen ... we're likely to have similar results... I have my processor OC'd to around the same speed you do and my BFG 7800gt allows a great overclock. I have 2xAA and 4xAF enabled at quality settings in the Nvidia control panel ...using the Zepher tweaked 82.12 but they're just about the same as the regular 82.12's Goya, about the terrain? I dont know... I haven't had my system too long and with all the graphics changes due to config changes (LOMAC always switches my 1.6 aspect and all other settings whenever i change anything) i guess I just missed it.
