  1. I just had to share this... 169th in four Su-25t's doing a Kh-58 attack when what you may of thought couldnt happen does. I warm up my Kh-58's, target a ticonderoga, and instead say hello to my teammate Mustang... "UhOh...I drifted back into him" :joystick:
  2. Just FYI.... you dont have to have the background noise. The clciks are handy, lets you know when a transmission has ended
  3. Hey..... who do I rate? Polecat has no sig! Ok Shaman you're getting double rated!!! LOL 9 out of 10 again! The timing of the animation is just about .004 seconds off for my liking, otherwise you would have recieve a 10...
  4. Here's some hard data for you Zag... At Ubi-online, in a 6 day period, I went in for about 8 minutes a day and pm'd people (remember there's no text lounge at Ubi) to convey to them of the existence of hyperlobby... out of interest, and so as not to be an annoyance I tracked who I pm'd. Here are the results... Remember 6 days, 8 minutes... and the result was 150 unique player names UbiOnline.rar
  5. I flew it this morning. good run in on the first, do not be early on the turn to the second avenger!
  6. Kuky and Iguana ... take it to PM's lol  Heya Leafer! I dont know where you're at in this process but I think i have a few things to add. Make sure the machine you build has some harmony to it... and i mean dont go up in one area just to skimp in another. People do this all the time with Power Supply Units, they skimp. First, are you building it yourself? If you are ...Kudos to you... It will be a much BETTER system. I'll offer some suggestions... with newegg.com and other sources as starting points CPU: Conroe E6300 ... It's a very good chip for 180$ U.S. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?N=2010340343+50001157+1050722265&Submit=ENE&SubCategory=343 Motherboard: Complex choice, but if you're OCing you must have a motherboard BIOS that allows you to do so. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?N=2010340343+50001157+1050722265&Submit=ENE&SubCategory=343 Heatsink and Fan: This is one is well rated and at a great price (man i hope you're in N. America...lol) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835186134 System RAM: This is the one component that has drastic effects on OC ability, research on your forum of choice (not necc this one.)... I will always leave this componet up to others as I have no interest in keeping abreast of RAM tech. All i'd reccomend though is to have 2 matched 1 gig sticks. Try here... http://www.hardforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=92 PCI-E Graphics Card: Again, Research where others have asked the SAME questions as you. http://www.hardforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3 Power Supply Unit: Read and pick one from here... These guys dont reccomend something unless its good... there are some great ones starting at 61$ http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10854 Case: Here's mine, I love it... Things to look for are how well it gets hot air OUT! So the more 120mm fans, the better http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811215003 Operating System: Windows XP ? Thermal Paste for CPU: Arctic Silver 5 or Artic Silver Ceramique (Ceramique is non-conductive) should fit the bill for about 6$ I'll stop right there because the total with shipping is estimated now at 1100$ U.S. .... hopefully you can use your old optical drives and hard drive.. If not...then readjust... good luck and PM me with how it goes Here are my specs: DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D (623-3) AMD Opteron 165 (0547) s939 (w/Thermalright si-120 and 120mm Panaflo fan) 2x1gig Mushkin eXtreme Perf. PC-4000 (3-4-3-8) BFG Nvidia 7800GT @ 500x1200 Creative X-fi Platinum ENERMAX Liberty ELT500AWT 500W Power Supply Gateway FPD2185W 21in LCD TiR3 with VE X-52 Headset soon to be BeyerDynamic DT-990pro's with Mic Mod!
  7. FYI... 6.10 betas here... great source... i'd bookmark http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?id=18
  8. Holy Crap I want that car!!!! "Lets see it's Tuesday.... 16 hellfires should get me through my commute today... no need for hydras!"
  9. Hey... any little bit helps... If a noob saw that video it would be instructful... good job DPS
  10. Here's the thing about dreams... Sometimes dreams do die...then sometimes they come true... and then again...sometimes you're sleeping and dreaming that you're making out with Scarlet Johannsen... but it's actually your dog "Beast" licking your face because you've passed out again with food on your face. The moral of this story? Keeping eating...cause you dont want to be dead when Black Shark rolls out...
  11. LOL ... I'm gonna learn more towards Royal Marines though :D
  12. I think that what he means is that he doesnt know how to zoom in and out ... refer to my last post here http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=13573
  13. Well lets be clear here.... I'm guessing that everyday (as of October 2006) at least 40 people buy LockOn gold. Of those I'm guessing the vast majority give up the game very soon after. Thats not really a huge problem (the game just wont satisfy some.) But what Ironhand does in his videos is help those people that are hooked a little bit, understand the game more. Cheers again, Ironhand... anything else in the pipeline? lol
  14. GR27.... As far as i can tell all the information you need is here... Step 1) Set your native screen resolution in Lockon GUI Options Step 2) in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\graphics.cfg change the following values from 1.333333 to 1.6 (see below)...then save DisplayMode { resolution = {1680, 1050}; bpp = 32; fullscreen = 1; aspect = 1.6; Interface { resolution = {1680, 1050}; bpp = 32; fullscreen = 1; aspect = 1.6; } Simulation { resolution = {1680, 1050}; bpp = 32; fullscreen = 1; aspect = 1.6; } AVI { resolution = {640, 480}; fullscreen = 0; aspect = 1.3333; } Step 3) in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Config\View\view.lua mimic the following values... then save -- Camera view angle limits {view angle min, view angle max}. CameraViewAngleLimits = {} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iSu_27] = {20.0, 145.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iSu_33] = {20.0, 145.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iSu_25] = {20.0, 145.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iSu_39] = {20.0, 145.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iMiG_29] = {20.0, 145.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iMiG_29K] = {20.0, 145.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iA_10] = {20.0, 145.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iF_15] = {20.0, 145.0} Beyond that...? Just zoom in and out to get the most comfortable view at any one time. I think it's the "*" and "-" keys above the number pad... I reccommend mapping these keys to your stick. and PS - I agree with Natedog... Widescreens are becoming a huge segment of the market and we're only going to get more of these questions as time goes on, sticky somewhere please
  15. I use an X-52. This model seems like a better development... looks like they're trying to compete. If you really think about it the X-52 (X-52 pro) is in a class all its own...a lower class, but still. I will someday get a CH set but until then i really dont feel I have missed out... :pilotfly:
  16. Keep up the good work Ironhand. I look forward to you presentations. I'm not sure when you decided to start converting tracks into a video format but it was definetley a very good move. What's on your agenda for future tutorials?
  17. I'd like that 2 minutes of my life back please.... anyone? anyone?
  18. First make sure you're running you monitor in its native 1680x1050 rez (Go to Nvidia CP or ATI CCC)... then open lock on and set the proper resolution... LOMAC should show a selection now for 1680x1050 Then go to windows folder C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Config\graphics.cfg Then change the values to this...save...that simple DisplayMode { resolution = {1680, 1050}; bpp = 32; fullscreen = 1; aspect = 1.6; Interface { resolution = {1680, 1050}; bpp = 32; fullscreen = 1; aspect = 1.6; } Simulation { resolution = {1680, 1050}; bpp = 32; fullscreen = 1; aspect = 1.6; } AVI { resolution = {640, 480}; fullscreen = 0; aspect = 1.3333; } } ___________________________________ I found odd symbol behavior when i had AVI set to 1.6.... Enjoy! __________________________________ Also, bookmark this site http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/ ___________________________________ Btw... this is more of a tech disscusion... no worries though
  19. I would buy this game if it cost much more than what I payed for it... I know that desnt really answer your question but my statement is tied into it and other responses.
  20. 169th_Prophet and I were both in fully armed Su-25t's one day. On one ingress to Tuapse we downed three Su-27's ... I'm not saying we're awesome or anything, but it comes down to red pilot skill vs. blue pilot skill
  21. Good stuff Cali.... I hope you bought a DVI cable? This is something we didnt cover but I'm sure you read up on during your research....
  22. Mustang, tried these on my lil bros 9550..along with ATI Tools Oc'er and it has been awesome for his rig... I think he had CATS from 2004 lol
  23. No cropping is present if you're running LOMAC in the monitors native resolution (1680x1050 for me.) Vertical field of view isnt an issue either... Just have graphics config handy on the desktop b/c if you make any changes to your game settings LOMAC like to revert back to 1.3 aspect ratios. As for other utility points... I'll never go back to 4:3 screens, day to day it just feels more natural to have the screen wider.
