  1. You have to press right alt + home (not sure) to set throttle to idle. You can't do it with your joystick.
  2. Actually i wasn't that surprised because like you (HugePanic) it is about drag. It will be quite nice if they implement even efficiency of this Jumo engine but without any data or working engine it is imposible. Range: 285 km +- 5 km Time: 27 mins 30 sec Average speed: around 620 km/h (calculated) Engine set up: 3250 RPM; 1,70 ata Altitude: 3400 m +-100 m Fuel consumed: 56% = 293,44 litres Fuel consumption per 1 km = 1,03 l/km Fuel consumption per 1 hour = 640 l/h I found this PDF http://www.simcentrum.com/files/190D.pdf so i just want to know if it is close to this publications or ED used different numbers. Range of the D9 Dora is about 810 km, when you calculated it with internal fuel capacity 232 litres front fuel tank and 292 litres rear tank you will get avarage fuel consumption around 0,65 l/km. Also i was thinking that maybe some could be interested in these numbers.
  3. Range: 285 km +- 5 km Time: 28 mins Average speed: around 606 km/h (calculated) Engine set up: 3000 RPM; 1,58 ata Altitude: 3400 m +-100 m Fuel consumed: 48% = 251,52 litres Fuel consumption per 1 km = 0,88 l/km Fuel consumption per 1 hour = 535 l/h In high power rating it is quite thirsty :megalol: Next time i will try 3250 RPM, if engine survives :music_whistling:
  4. Today on Virtual Aerobatics server i tried some cruising, here are the results: Range: 285 km +- 5 km Time: 31 mins 30 secs Average speed: around 540 km/h (calculated) Engine set up: 2300 RPM; 1,1 ata Altitude: 3400 m +-100 m Fuel consumed: 26% = 136,2 litres Fuel consumption per 1 km = 0,48 l/km Fuel consumption per 1 hour = 259,4 l/h Next time i will try the same route with 3000 RPM :)
  5. IMO yes, this is why you don't get any ammo. But today i tried to refuel to 97% of fuel and get confirmed the refueling is complete.
  6. This is from topic "How to fly Dora" by Yo-Yo "Currently in DCS the rudder is balanced for cruise at 2200-2400 rpm, though the required rudder input is small for the higher power ratings and corresponding speeds."
  7. I already posted this issue and Sith told me he will look at it. The problem is that nomatter what you do you will get just 98% of fuel even when you select 100% in the editor. Ground crew cannot fill it to 100% so thats why they will never confirm refuel is complete.
  8. I found that in high engine power mode is Jumo engine quite thirsty :D Until they resolve drop tank bug what is the best cruising performance? Yo-Yo said that cruising RPM are 2200-2400 but which altitude is the best for this cruising RPM? On the internet is said that FW-190 D9 has range about 835 km (519 miles) but i can't do that with my style of flying :D
  9. True. It was really fast
  10. Even when you set up 100% of fuel then in rearming menu you will see just 98%. I tried to take in SP anything under 50% and get refueled and again it stops on 98%. I will attach the track. I am using Czech language so don't get distracted :D Refuel bug.trk
  11. Yes i forgot to mention it, rearm issue.
  12. I forgot to set magnetos and engine started and run almost as normal as with magnetos on. Is it even possible in real life?
  13. From an MP game. Ground service didn't say anything at all.
  14. I know what he means, he is talking about the second circuit breaker. Wags pushed everything but in the manual is "When a drop tank is attached, in the beginning the forward fuselage tank fuel pump shouldn’t be switched on. Fuel from the forward tank will still feed the engine pump (on condition the fuel selector is on “Auf”, that is how it should be), but it will feed only due to gravity, so at a much slower rate than the rear tank, with its pump on. Necessary for correct center of gravity position". I am doing this by the manual so forward fuel pump set to off.
  15. In the take-off video is said you have to pres left ALT+A to open cowl flaps and increased RPM to 1000
  16. What is the RIGHT way to release the drop fuel tank?
  17. I really like this post thank you Yo-Yo. I am glad there are still WWII pilots who want to help with this aircraft. I have just one question. How much power is actually Take Off power? Does it count MW-50?
  18. Really impressive pics :) . I like the FW 190 A/F version with radial engine more than Dora. I even didn't want it to buy, but after reading a lot of documents i was amazed by this plane
  19. I have to agree :) Really beautifull bomber. Thank you for this topic.
  20. When PFM was released i was testitng air refueling like an idiot again again and again :D Here is my "report" from April including a track http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122799 Well i am a little cheater because even with my Warthog it was hell for me :joystick:...I just activated autopilot with pressing "A" :D and wow you can still fly it and when you move your stick it is still active and you can do nice and steady refueling but this is not the right way how to do it :D
  21. From the manual : If i understand that correctly you will use from rear tank 52l of fuel then fuel indicator stops at 240l and "special limiting valve" allow fuel to flow from the drop tank to rear tank but rear tank still remains on 240l until drop tank is used. What is the point of this valve? Avoiding over pressure the rear tank, maintain the same pressure during consuming drop tank? This is really interesting.
  22. I was checking the manual and i have some questions. MW-50 tank has 115l and fluid flow is about 160l/h so it is about 40 minutes of boost. My question is : Is Jumo 213 cooling system capable to cool down engine with boost for let's say more than 10 minutes? Or can you even fly with boost whole 40 minutes? This is more about real performance of the aircraft than upcomming DCS title.
  23. I was thinking about little feature which could be implemented in rearm/refuel menu in the game. In Mission Editor you can now disable armor or hardpoints but i think it will be nice to have it directly in the game so for example in MP mission you can decide if you tak extra armor or put off weapon hardpoints. I am not sure how weapon hardpoints are mounted if it is welded, screwed or something else. This option is not realistic but rearm you chopper in 20 secs or repairing chopper in 180 secs in not realistic at all. Someone like IR suppresion and someone not. It will be nice to decide directly in the game which suits you the best what do you think? :)
  24. MI-8 with 100% fuel and everything put off is about 9618kg heavy. I read this chopper is able to carry 30 people. But when i have my usual loadout with armor plates and 4x GUV pods and 2x rocket pods then it is 127xx kg. So MI-8 is capable to carry just troops or weapons only? Oh yes, you can always take off armor, use just two weapon slots or take less fuel or anything else. But my question is, can you take off with more than 13 000kg of payload or not? Take for example this situation. Your mission is to take 12 soldiers to the frontline and be able to cover them with your main weapons and it is 200 km to the landing zone. To make it easy let's say 1 soldier is 100kg. How will you prepare your MI-8 for this task?
