  1. What a horrible idea, MoGas. But a good one nonetheless. May try and implement that smell in Smell of Victory v1.03
  2. ...and it will work with Lock On and Black Shark. Here's a short demonstration video on how to use Smell of Victory: DPS.
  3. Yes indeed. Must get myself a copy of 3ds Max or whatever version BS is using for mods. I built the Yak-15 using the stripped down (and free version) which is only really good for MS models - and as they have canned the entire FS dev team I don't think there is a lot of mileage left in that game.
  4. I want to see one of these in Lock On: A ZSU-23 with wings  DPS.
  5. If you find the Flight Director circles on the HUD a bit tricky, you will find more conventional ILS fly up/down left/right indications down below on the instrument panel HSI. The Su-33 has the same set-up but bear in mind that when landing on the carrier there is a big off-set angle as it will line you up with the landing on deck rather than the ship's Course Over Ground.
  6. More induced flow over the lower blades than translational. Fair enough. I bet you've even modelled ground oscillations for this chopper. I'd better check that it has an Idiot Mode before I buy it so I can cope with flying the model.
  7. Badaboom, yes, as a newt :drunk: BTW, those aren't Russian AF stars on the wings - they're Christmas stars :smilewink:
  8. If you want a good read about rotary flying - and how it works - put Principles of Helicopter Flight by W.J. Wagtendonk on your Santa list. If you have a basic grasp of physics it will answer a lot of questions on this subject. Now all I need is a new PC that will run BS and I'm in business.
  9. I would have thought with co-ax rotors advancing blade stall should be symetrical - will have to buy BS and see for myself.
  10. My next model will be a Yak, but I might just stick Santa in an Su-27 (or a chopper) next year.
  11. And this year Santa will be riding a MiG. Check out the vid: Happy Holidays DCS
  12. The Russians have the IL-76 and the Americans the KC-10; being British we naturally found a better (more exciting) way: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=4yxEENwek6w&feature=user BTW, I like the new Tornado screenies for the next version of Lock On.
  13. Well done to all the players who got airborne and realized that the ailerons were incorrectly rigged, and were still able to fly the aircraft back to the runway. You’re all too clever for me, although I like to think that the G-FOOL registration and the upside-down Union Flag were a bit of a give away. Must have been mainly Lock On drivers due to the high standard of flying skills required to survive. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=7SYDaBD0mA8&feature=user
  14. If you're looking for a challenging aircraft to fly (and you have Flight Sim on your PC) why not have a go at my latest creation ... the Avro Tudor, a British built tool of terror that dealt out death and destruction on a massive scale in the 1940s. You can download the Zip File here: http://www.dpsflight.com/ (It's the first link under all the little flags) And here's a video tutorial on how to fly her: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=7SYDaBD0mA8&feature=user Are any of you Lock On drivers up to the challenge? DPS.
  15. I'm building a little British model add-on to fly around in. Should be ready in a few days - and if you have a copy of FS on your drive I'll let you have a copy for free. Here's a very short clip of the beauty: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=nP7-y0Zd8xM&feature=user But what is it?
  16. I put two pairs of wheels on the final version - you can see them in the video. However, landing still very tricky. So I 'un-mapped' the brakes from the front pair to stop it nosing-over. Now it needs 4,000 metres of runway to stop :megalol: DPS.
  17. I thought I'd build something a little more challenging to fly around in: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=R-PSNCVQczM If any of you modders would like to import it into 3ds Max so you can try it out in Lock On land you will find the mesh here http://www.dpsflight.com/
  18. A series of Pauline and Paulette movies? It's far too cold here at the moment. You'll all just have to wait until the spring arrives  DPS.
  19. ...and if you've been bad he is going to dish out some serious punishment :smilewink: DPS.
  20. And here's the result: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ii0Ro6QCmmY&feature=user If any of you are into 3ds modding, I've put the gmax file up at DPSflight.com if you want to play around with it. DPS.
  21. After months of rigorous scientific study, here are the results :smartass: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ii0Ro6QCmmY&feature=user Merry Christmas. DPS.
  22. This DCS capper looks like a jolly wheeze, but I hope it's going to have more British objects than that Lock On game. Just in case it hasn't, here's my contribution: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=CW8Eu9PMg-o If the devs like it they can grab the file from my site and are more than welcome to incorporate it into this new game. TTFN. DPS.
  23. I hope that we are going to see more British equipment in BS. Top notch military hardware like this: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=CW8Eu9PMg-o Tally-ho!! Toodle pip!! And all that :smilewink: DPS.
  24. Looking for a new USAF fighter for your collection - then how about this: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=QcikXH_Cwfs If you still have FS2004 on your HDD you can try it out. I've put the Gmax model up on my site at DPSflight.com but I'm not sure if LOMAC modders will be able to import the file into 3ds Max. Painters beware - there are some weird polys. If you’re happy with the FS9 Aircraft Container System, and think you can fly a hot-to-handle experimental jet fighter, then you will find the XF-85 zip file on my site at DPSflight.com I created the .cfg and .air files with FSedit, plus some further post-test flight tweaking. IF YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND THE AIRCRAFT CONTAINER SYSTEM DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME. There is no skin on the model and it will simply alias to the default Lear 45 sound and panel – use the left N1 gauge. Unzip the folder to the FS9/aircraft directory, launch the game and under select aircraft scroll to Mc Donnell. When the sim loads, the model will bump down onto its scrape points. Unfortunately, I can’t take you up in a B-29 for the launch, so you will have to use the slew mode: centralize game controllers, hit Key_Y then F4 and slew up to 15,000 feet. Hit F2 to stop the ascent, then Key_Y again for the fright, sorry flight, of your life. This is a very small, underpowered, swept wing jet and the flight envelope is tight. If you don’t follow the guidance in the video tutorial you will loose control or break-up in flight. Be prepared to use a lot of pitch trim input. I managed to zoom up to 33,000 feet and achieve Mach.75 in level flight. BTW, you only have 40 lbs of fuel so it will then suddenly go all quiet and you will have to glide home – the video will show you how to do it. If you can put it down on the tarmac gently enough it will skid along the runway. The trapeze hook will animate with Ctrl_L so my next task will be to work out how to build moving scenery (a B-29) with an inverted arrestor system. Have fun.
  25. No, no nekkid chicks - I'm saving them for my Christmas Special ;) Those Ju-87 Stukas had a pretty steep approach path. That's how they did it in real life - I've seen it in those old newsreel films. I've just noticed that there is a typo in the end credits, but I guess you were all too polite to point it out :) DPS.
