  1. Nice find. Now I've got something to watch other than TV later on.
  2. Wonder if Avsim.ru have any sheep damage models? What's Russian for lamb chop?
  3. Neat video - someone's spent more than a couple of hours making that one. Great sound effects, too. Tip: if you don't like Lock On's y-axis/no-vertical-extent smoke then turn your wind vector up in the ME. If the AI struggle, just fly the attack into wind and it should work. I agree with Kula66, Lock On doesn't look so good down were the helicopters fly, but I guess if you have AAA and Stingers coming your way you might be too busy to notice the terrain. What do the soldier damage models look like? DPS.
  4. привет Ту-22 profiles or diagrams. Anyone got any? http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=CRvbNwBIXyg благодарность  DPS.
  5. Better than my first touch-down, which was at the wrong end of the runway:megalol: I can pick out the skid marks on the higher definition WMV file :megalol: Thank goodness for the 'Y' key in FS9. Just slew it back to 10 kilometers and up to 500 metres and try again  DPS.
  6. For those of you with FS9/FSX who want to try something a bit different (and older) from the Russian inventory the new AlphaSim Tu-22 is well worth a look. Their add-ons seem to go from strength to strength and for those buying in Sterling the Tu-22 costs only £17. The flight modelling seems to give a pretty good impression of how the Blinder might actually handle, i.e. not very easy to fly. I flew the approach at an eye watering 370 Kmph. And the model doesn’t seem to boast spoilers and brake-chute either. Here’s a little video I made with the model: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=CRvbNwBIXyg DPS.
  7. Ah yes, white moulded plastic. That would look great in my kitchen. DPS. (Microsoft FF2 owner - and no rudder pedals).
  8. FS add-on flight modelling is a bit of a mixed bag. Some of it is first class and really gives the impression of flying the represented aircraft. Other models are terrible. There can even be variations in add-ons from the same developer. Alphasim's F-8 Crusader is excellent and the player has a fighting chance of getting it onto the deck of a carrier. But their Su-27 is too skittish and is all over the place - must take a look at their site and see if there is a fix for it yet. I must have a go at X-Plane sometime. I want proper physics. I want to ground-loop my kite and rip those tyres off. :pilotfly:
  9. Very good find indeed. These days I watch more on YouTube than I do on conventional TV. I think my telly is about to set course on a one-way trip to the local refuse dump. DPS.
  10. I'd quite fogotten this one. Excellent.
  11. Why is it when we have a war the British always have to come in at the end to win it for the Americans :smilewink: And no laughing. War is a serious matter. DPS.
  12. I liked the old system were you could just hook the Su-33 up to the tanker and walk away from the PC and do something else whilst your jet filled up with gas.
  13. Lots of new Russian phrases here. Thanks :smartass: Well, Staticus, it's just a bit of fun which took me a couple of hours to throw together in the video editor - and I enjoyed making it. I would never sacrifice the idea for technical excellence. Punk film making for ever  Hope all you Russians had a good laugh watching it :megalol:
  14. Locking up the tanker with the radar to get its speed usually works for me - as long as you keep your finger off the fire button. Here's a little tutorial I did for the A-10 which might help: I gave up on the Su-33 refuelling as it got to be hard work with FC.
  15. I wondered what would happen if I 'poked the bear'. Nice to hear from one of the ED team again. I quite forgot all that stuff dangling from the Su-25Ts wings - and the required coding. I never actually got around to playing with it having purchased the download. The flight modelling is based on table look up rather than blade element theory, right? Some of the FS9 stuff is dross but there are also some real gems which keep the fans hooked. I still see FSX up on the shelves of my local games stores - the fact is that Lock On should be up there with it - FC is easily good enough. DPS.
  16. It would be nice to see some movement/development with Lock On. How long has it been now since FC came out? Nearly two years? And that was just an additional type. Other games, such as IL2 and FS seem to be pretty good at reinventing themselves. There seems to be a quality, third-party add-on for MSFS every other month. Come on ED, you've got to keep the momentum up. DPS.
  17. We don't hear the Goons often enough these days. Unfortunately, YouTube seems to have clipped the end off the soundtrack slightly. Well done, Mcnab. I was wondering who would spot that first. I actually bought a payware Chinese MiG-21 and this is what I got: But then I thought: being a mid-1990s N. Korea set fictional conflict the oposition JUST had to be fairly multi-national. Glad you had a laugh, it took me nearly two hours to put this together in Windows Movie Maker. DPS.
  18. Thanks for the post TS. Looks interesting. I've never tried modding Lock On. That would be an interesting project: The Fighting Cocks II - North Korean MiG-29s fight back, and are decimated by a squadron of RAF Jaguars. DPS.
  19. Hello Russia, I like to learn languages. :smartass: How you say this in your country: Here’s an air combat inspired movie (4 mins), in which the RAF do it with style. Ladies and gentlemen, may I present The Fighting Cocks (боевой драчун): I couldn’t find the music, or the exact MiG skins, I wanted so I just had to make do with what I could find on the web. DPS.
  20. Well, I couldn't any find Chinese/Korean MiGs or suitable music. But anyway, ladies and gentlemen, may I present The Fighting Cocks: Enjoy :music_whistling: DPS.
  21. Here's a picture with captions: http://www.dpsflight.com/Su33BVR.htm Hope it helps.
  22. The skin is part of the package - and it's advertised as having a Chinese version, it says here: http://www.lagosim.com/default.asp?act=scheda&p=100056&lang=eng I had the Captain Sim MiG-21 on FS2002. It was pretty good, although I think it was only the two seat Mongol version.
  23. Here’s a 29 second video of some payware I downloaded yesterday: It’s supposedly a MiG-21 in Chinese Air Force markings. And the skinner has even put his autograph on it. As Victor Meldrew would say: "I don't belieeeeeve it!!!!!" DPS.
  24. Hmm. Might just have to play something oriental sounding on my bagpipes. DPS.
  25. Nice looking model. I've been playing around with gmax recently - I've still got a lot of work to do.
