  1. Oh la la. Nice find Viper101. Thanks for posting. DPS.
  2. New movie out soon. :megalol: In fact I've got nothing planned on Sunday so I'll put it together then. My friend Flash Dance is going to teach you bad boys a lesson you'll never forget :smartass: And she seems to have got hold of a copy of Lock On Black Shark as well. So tune in to lockon.ru next week. DPS.
  3. Does this mean there will be Russian bombers making sneaky landings on remote Scottish islands: Those sheep are British sheep, so you Russians had better keep your hands off.
  4. Another great, perfectly crafted video. Nice work GA, you must have put in a few hours of work on this one. And a big thanks to the chaps at Jabog32 for being so generous with their bandwidth. DPS.
  5. Ctrl_V is Salvo Mode but I can't remember if it fires off a SAHR missile followed by an IR homer - or just two of the same. I will check it out later. Here's some more info about this: http://www.dpsflight.com/Su33BVR.htm DPS.
  6. All the Lock On forums are pretty quiet these days. I think just kicking any topic that might seem to be OT into some dark corner will just make things worse. There might appear to be some inertia on this board but just take a look at the lack of interest in Lock On at SimHQ, Check-Six or Ubi. I guess things won't bounce back until BS comes out. DPS.
  7. Hope you found the video useful.:smartass: The chap who did the narration is in fact a lady:thumbup: DPS.
  8. As JohnyDog said. I would get into the habit of clicking the save icon at every step as you leave a mission - unless you really want to re-fly it. DPS.
  9. Landing the A-10 on the Ticonderoga seems to be do-able. I can get the model onto the heli deck with a hurricane on the nose, but it then just sinks gracefully through and explodes. With damage detection switched off it just bounces through the ship and back into the gale.
  10. Here's a little tutorial on how to use the Flight Path Marker as an aid to flying the approach: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=2Y4AgKOpUco It will probably be of more interest to the nuggets on this forum. For those who want the WMV file you can save it from here: http://www.dpsflight.com/FlightPathMarker_0001.wmv Hope it's of use to someone. DPS.
  11. Are the heli pads on warships defined as hard surfaces for landing in the same way that runways, roads and carrier decks are? DPS.
  12. Great work. But I really wanted to see him closer to the leading edge. DPS.
  13. Phippe, thanks for that video link. Best bit of flying I've ever seen in a sim. Now, having seen that video it should be possible to land on the heli deck of a cruiser. Who's up for that challenge :smilewink: DPS.
  14. Still don't have any F-14 parts. But I'm sure I saw a MiG-21 on ebay last year. Now that WOULD annoy the neighbours.
  15. Nice work, ViperVJG73. Does the drogue chute wrap itself around the fin as you whip the aircraft through 180 degrees on the deck? In fact big respect for getting your fingers onto the P key during the very short landing roll - guess that is where HOTAS would come in handy. DPS.
  16. Some hot-and-high airfields would be a nice addition. DPS.
  17. Turn the wind up high and set the carrier full-steam-ahead. Don't line up with the landing-on deck, just fly the approach along the wake line of the ship and use the full length of the boat. Who need arrestor cables? DPS.
  18. Must swing by and take a look at that forum so I can practise my Doish. The Ubi German forum is pretty dead. DPS.
  19. Suppose all old airplanes will meet that fate unless they can find a home in a museum. Must have a look on ebay. If I can find enough parts I might be able to build my very own F-14. DPS.
  20. Nice one, CountryCowfreak, only you forgot to switch off your landing lights. :smartass: Anyway, good effort all the same. DPS.
  21. You regular Lock On jockeys are just too good for me. I'll need to set a more challenging task such as coming to a comfortable stop on the hangar deck of the Kuznetsov have arrived via the funnel :D Aeroscout, it just never occured to me  Of course the real challenge would be to get that AlphaSim Su-35 onto the carrier. Monotwix, thanks. DPS, growing old disgracefully.
  22. Nice pics. The weather adds something; who wants blue skies all the time. DPS.
  23. Are you a Sierra Hotel virtual pilot? I landed, and stopped, with the MiG-29 on the carrier deck – and here’s the proof: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xh8rHu8fCQA I also landed the Su-33 on the CVN-76 just for good measure, and had some fun with the Lockheed Shooting Star on a pitching flight deck on a stormy evening. DPS.
  24. You see heat blur behind even Falcon and Cessna biz jets. But the effect is usually switched off on my LOMAC options panel in order to save my sad old PC. Perhaps BS will give us shimmering mirage effects above hot tarmac when the weather is set to hot :-)
  25. Yes, the water/splash effects in Pacific Fighters look excellent, even though my graphics card doesn't support shader (must buy a new one). When a/c crash/ditch at an oblique angle you see a series of smaller splashes too which give the impression of the a/c breaking up. DPS.
