Ka-50!! The US had a contra-prop VTOL machine 50 years ago. Imagine the scene: you’re skimming low over the Russian forests in your Ka-50 with your buddies when suddenly a swarm of these 20mm armed blighters appear from the trees all around you. I made it over the weekend using Gmax. No doubt someone will give me a hint where to find that setting in the .cfg file. I meant to fix the elevons using the aileron-daughter-to-elevator trick, but I only remembered once I was making the video. I came up with two flight dynamics models. Neither worked properly. If you fancy a really good Convair XFY-1 model for FS9 get the pogo.zip file at AVSIM by Messers P. Clawson and Rob Barendregt. It uses an excellent XML trick so you won’t make yourself ill trying to transition from vertical to horizontal flight. DPS.

Has anyone else seen the pilotless airplane that flies around at Belbek Air Base, otherwise known as the phantom of the Saitek rudder pedals: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_lKq0v8o820 First thing this morning I fired up Lock On to try a mission (my first in months) with my brand new pedals. Turning left out of the parking area my pedals jammed at full travel and my kite came to rest against a conveniently placed hardened aircraft shelter. I then hit Ctrl+EEE to investigate my pedals. To add insult to injury my trusty A-10 set off by itself. Does anyone know a quick fix for jammed Saitek pedals? There’s nothing on the web, the vendor is 350 miles away and it doesn’t look like Saitek are going to phone me back. :cry: DPS.

Are ED going to take-on the role of publisher/distributer for BS? That's quite a task. Best of luck to them. As in the book world, publishers can come in pretty useful for marketing, and of course, distibution. Don't they also hand out wads of cash (advances) to assist with developent? DPS.

It would be interesting to replace the SA-10 Grumble model with one of these. Nobody would ever expect a manned Surface-to-Air missile in Lock On. DPS.

Thanks for the info. EscCtrl, if you want to give it a go you can get a trial version from Autodesk - I think. You can get a free stripped-down version of of 3ds Max, called Gmax, from TurboSquid.com with lots of tutorials. I've been using a 3ds max text book to learn Gmax, and when it comes to building aeroplanes both application look like one and the same thing to me. I built this in Gmax (looks better in black and white as I don't own Paint Shop Pro yet).

I've been doing some GMax work over the summer and I fancy having a crack at some Lock On mods. I've searched the forum for 3ds Max but I'm not get any results. Off the top of my head version 7 is the one LOMAC modders are using. Before I waste any time and money trying to track down 3ds Max 7 is this the correct version - and does anyone know if it will be the same one for BS? DPS.

If you set up a few of those NATO carriers with the radar directed 20 mm cannon with the Mission Editor around likely targets, they will lay down a nice barrage of fire for the MiGs to fly through. DPS.
