  1. Isn't R-27R1 the export version of R-27R
  2. It had missions in FS98
  3. If they couln't cary R-73, it's the ealiest versions, that could only cary R-27R and R-60M (from before R-73 was fielded).
  4. You're a person. That in the picture is a cockpit ;) Skycar?
  5. I guess.. You can't just use air. Too much water in it. It's ok for brake systems in a truck, but in an aircraft it's too messy. So, you need some pure gas, and nitrogen is nice and stable, not explosive like pure oxygen.
  6. Did I say all?
  7. Yeah, it's not a bug. Real aircraft can't refuel in multiplayer either :P
  8. yup. they're just people, you know..
  9. Stories by pilots are just that - stories.
  10. Smirnoff? That is the downgraded export version. You need to do more vodka research:drunk:. There's a traveling version 80+%, more convenient for long trips, you just add water before drinking.. or not :D
  11. so... it's vodka :)
  12. You can go at 2,8 as long as there's fuel, and you can make excursions to above that, but you need to know the time limit. It was G-limeted, but so-what? You ain't gonna do loops at that speed. Mostly that their intel sux? :)
  13. And they discovered.. what? That you don't need THAT much titanium to build a succesfull Mach3+ jet? That a jet that spends most of the time at Mach2+ is G limited (which isn't)? That the 10 year-old aircraft is outdated?
  14. MiG-25s might have tried to intercept Blackbirds, but that was never their primary role, nor the reason for their existance. 2,8 and even 3,5 simply isn't enough to intercept a target at 3,2. Heck, even 4,5 won't cut it if the other guy is going to turn around once you are airborn (and what other thing is the poor unarmed guy going to do?).
  15. So how does the F-15 start if it has no batteries, and no external power? o.O btw, MiG-29 electric systems so, you have the option of startup on internal power, but external power is preffered
  16. I would disagree too. Americans aren't good programmers at all :P
  17. I doubt there were that many N001 to pass around :)
  18. And I agree with the STT = go defensive part. But, I add that TWS + he's close* engough also = go defensive. *you get distance from other sources (if no picture - go defensive) I know, but I'm not clear on what these Su-30s are using.. I assumed PESA too.
  19. Understand - dozens of TWS pings is not "just looking around". It's "we're gonna get you, better do something about it". What that something is depends on tactical situation. And is not pointed towards the target, since the missile is not flying a direct path. The datalink signal doesn't have to bounce all the way back, so the power is much lower than the main signal. Thus, you can forget about detecting sidelobes. Further more, what makes you so sure that the new Flankers need to STT all the way for SARH? The much older Zaslon will happily guide 4 SARH at once, to sepparate targets. Now, that may be partially due to missile design, but doesn't mean that something can't be done to optimize other missiles without this built in. All the missile needs is datalink in first stage, and STT when it goes auto. Even Su-27's Zhuk had a 'secret lock' mode (Russian versions only), to make the other guy think it is still in search mode, while it's actually STT.
  20. The same way you don't play with STT lock, you don't play with TWS in range. Chances of picking up datalink before it's too late are slim anyway.
  21. Not really. Your point of view comes mostly from LO experience of magic RWR. The reality is, you NEVER know for sure if there is a missile inbount, unless you actually see it (and no, AMRAAM trail isn't invisible). Hard lock vs TWS makes no difference. In both cases, you are left to guess and assume that there IS a launch.
