  1. Yeah, those Ikarus buses are actually modeled in LockOn :D
  2. Btw, Ikarus was the first airplane factory in Yugoslavia (1923), located in Novi Sad ;) Some machinery (aviation-specific) was later moved to Mostar, where Soko (the maker of Galeb series) was formed, while the rest was moved to Belgrade, where Ikarus became Ikarbus bus factory :D
  3. Correct :) Ikarus S-49C That thing is part of the Hispano-Suiza 12Z-17 engine of the all-metal C version. The A version was of wood-metal construction with the Klimov M-105 engine, and it didn't have this part.
  4. It's not a Yak, and it's not a copy :) don't know about that thing. I'll try to find out.
  5. wrong topic? :D
  6. Iraqi aircraft in Serbia awaiting their destiny photo by Storm Rider
  7. The bonus is that you don't even need all does fancy sensors now to detect a sub. You just send in drones and wait for the sub to find you :)

  11. Updated Batajnica AFB link including visible traces of MiG-29 crash [topic]
  12. This wouldn't be the first time someone using French aviation industry just to gain some good relations, but then going other way when deal is to be signed. You might know the story that is circulating the net, about how Yugoslav airforce was more pleased with Mirage, but in the end bought MiG-29, only becouse it could be payed for by some debt etc. I've recently found out from people who were part of the review comittiee that while the debt part is true, the part about Mirage being more favorable was only being slipped under the door mat to the French, since they were a major partner in the Novi Avion project. :) The story somehow got out, and now has a life of its own on the Internet :)
  13. High security for our guests :)
  14. There's one army I know where a unit was left without a single officer, yet they stayed ogranized and guarded the border for two weeks. And yes, it was war time. And they were not professionals. edit: come to think of it, there was also an officer in that same army who got drunk and left his radar on for too long. I guess it's all down to individuals.
  15. I'm not talking about moral debates here. You simply can not destroy an area to get one guy and one truck. You are to go down and put a bullet in his head.
  16. I don't see that in UN conventions, GG. They are very clear on use of excesive force, however.
