So, I read around the web that the construction of T-50 prototype has started. :)

It's not like the rotor broke off. They could have had some autorotation.

I hear that the ejection handle was not pulled. So it appears it was activated by hiting something (a shelter) on the way down. Or are there automatic ejection modes on the 29?

Clickable fan switch. Turning it on and ensuring nice cool airflow over your nose is a part of combat procedures :)

It's early to speculate on reasons, but some witnesses say they've heard a poping sound, like in a compressor surge. There could be many reasons for it (bird strike?), but if he was in a forced turn at low altitude, when both engines are on AB, failure of the lower engine would create a huge assymetry and thrust difference pointing the nose down, and there is nothing that could be done. No airplane would save him. Stricter rules could have. I hope we will learn form our mistakes, while we did not learn from others'.

Yes. The irony is that rehaul warrenty expired a few weeks ago.

29s are grounded pending investigation

Yes, I know the feeling. I saw Rađenović at an airshow a few months ago. He finished his act with a high speed pass on full AB. Then we heard him on the radio over the speakers, he said "Hoćete reprizu?" (Do you want another one?) and he turned around and made another thrilling pass. They later flew him from Batajnica where he landed back to Novi Sad in a helicopter, so he could have his ride in a convertable with the girls in front of the audience. That's when the picture above was taken :( Btw, whitneses report engines stoped in flight :( The airplane had 145 flights since it was rehauled 25. May 2008.

There will be an investigation. After a forced loop he entered a forced turn. During the turn he started to fall down. He ejected at 100m or less, parallel to the ground. The chute did not have time to open fully.

This comes less than a year after the crash where Ištvan Kanas was killed. They were practising for the same airshow (Kanas for Belgrade 2008, this one for Belgrade 2009). This is beyond sad :(

This morning at 9am local time, a MiG-29 crashet at the Batajnica airfield. Pilot Rade Ranđelović ejected, but died later in hospital. One soldier on the ground was also killed in the crash, and one other injured.

It doesn't do anything to your level of play. It's just for manual system checking, and there's nothing usefull from it to a player. Guess that was one of the reasons for it not being modeled. But what bothers me more is that some non-functional switches are clickable, and some are not. That's a big fail on the rule of interface consistency on the dev's part. But that's just me learning for my human-computer interaction exam :)

To tell you the truth, I'm a bit dissapointed with that broken electrical measuring equipment and few other functions that are not functional. Not that it's not the best sim ever :)

Roll left to slightly more than 90*, nose under, give right rudder and exit diving at in course ~-135* from what you've started with :) Naturally, you need some altitude to do this

I read that in Afghan war, the way they used bombs was that first one Mi-24 would clear the area with rockets, and immediately after another would come in with bombs and finish the job.

So, you say they incidently stoumbled on some trash in the workshop and dumped charcoal (that they used while they played cowboys and indians) into the glue :) And by that time, radar was very much used. Ground based and airborn.

They do a sligh variation on it. Unlike Su-27 that does it in level flight, 29s do it in a ~30* climb.
