  1. I'm rendering the full almost 6 min video and will post it here. I only showed the last 43 seconds and did a screengrab of the airspeed indicator and magnified it for easier verification. Phil, I have no reason to BS. It is what it is. EDIT: Here is the full video from which I took my first video. The first minute or so is level flight at reduced engine settings, then I increase to 3000 rpms/18 lbs boost. I'm aware of the up and down porpoising, but even on the upward stroke the speed does not decrease below 330 mph IAS. I did another run just now testing the radiator at auto, then open. Whenever I opened the radiator the speed would slowly drop below 320 mph (and radiator temp rapidly drop), when selecting auto the speed would gradually increase above 330 mph IAS and rad temp would rise to 110 and hold. I tried adjusting elevator trim to 1 degree up per your video, but that made no appreciable difference in IAS that I could detect.
  2. I know, I was too chicken to get any lower. You can see how much trouble I have just to stay level. :joystick:
  3. I'm getting 335 mph IAS - 3000 rpm, max engine boost (18 lb?), neutral trim, radiator set to auto, altitude 600 ft, fuel 100%, full ammo load. DCS 1.5.6 ${1}
  4. Wow, thank you for that link! :thumbup: Purchased/downloaded and had a quick look. Beautiful photos - so much detail!
  5. Hope the team had a good holiday! I am very excited with these ongoing developments. I realize it may be awhile, but I'm dying to see my new home....the Spit cockpit!
  6. Time to seriously look into an extension for my Warthog stick.......:joystick:
  7. Good news, Static: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=36078 Good luck!
  8. Ah, OK. I've had the same glitch and have been resorting to Task Manager. Just spotted this thread. Thanks to all.
  9. Search is my friend, and so are you, Wild Bill. Thanks for posting this. Note to self: never mess with lua files when overtired. Or at least, back everything up first in a safe place!!!!
  10. Yes, same experience with me re bin 3. I cancelled the US http download (less than 30K bps = forever to download) and restarted it again (US http site) and it came through at 500K with no further problems. After uninstalling the former DCS World beta the new beta (DCS World + P51D) installed no problem.
  11. A human opponent may perceive you to be turning tighter than you actually are, thus feeding too much deflection in his aiming. But I don't think that would fool a K14 gunsight, though.
  12. That was a good read; thank you for posting this.
  13. That report was a good read -- pretty much describes my perception of the DCS P51D, especially flight departure. Apples-to-oranges, certainly, but far, far, different to anything I've experienced in other current WW2 aircraft sims.
  14. That was some fine flying -- fun to watch!
  15. Re don't assign trim to axis: agree 100%!! Other sims like Cliffs of Dover and A2A Spitfire trim on axis (in my case on my CH Quadrant) works fine. With DCS P51D I found that that I was over trimming ie. I would move the CH trim lever and in-sim the trim wheel animation wouldn't stop when I did -- it would keep turning a bit longer and overshoot. I was constantly correcting/reacting and the results were usually disastrous! Per your suggestion, when I finally assigned trim to the trim hat on my Warthog -- problem solved.
  16. Oops, I'd already linked your post to the ATAG Forum as an example of the sound in DCS P51D; I 'll have to post a retraction. I'm a new guy here; joke's on me, I guess. :(
  17. Unbelievably great sound!!!!!! :eek:
  18. Hi, I'm late to the party, as usual for me. Just discovered this thread, so I'm looking forward to giving your profile a try when I'm back at my PC tonight. I've been struggling with what to assign where using the TARGET software, so maybe now is a good time to step back and try a fresh approach. Thanks for sharing your work; I'll post back here how things went. I fly Cliffs of Dover online a great deal, but as we all know CoD has its problems right now -- talk about stepping back and trying a fresh approach: here I am! LOL Does anyone here also use the CH Quadrant with their Warthog? EDIT: Both Warthog Throttle and Joystick profiles worked great. Doing some minor revisions (does that ever end?) to "fit" me a bit more. Your profiles have given me a great starting point to continue building on. Thanks again!
