  1. Check what out exactly?
  2. I am trying to make a very simple AAR training mission but for some reason I can't contact the tanker. I have a KC-135 fly a straight line at 15,000" 200kts. In the ME I've set 140 Mhz AM and TACAN 10X. When I set TACAN A/A TR to 10X the Hawg finds the tanker perfectly. However, when setting fwd radio to 140.00 I still can't contact the tanker. It's entry doesn't show up in the radio menu, it only shows the default entries like Wingmen, Flight, ATC, Ground Chief, etc.
  3. Yes quite some graphics mods. Flying solo in an empty air space in the A-10C. I'll check again with mods turned off, starting with 4k and no AA and working my way up to 8x AA set in game. Also not using smoothing in Nvidia.
  4. Nice read, Sabre!
  5. Pyrotechnics in what form? The fibres lighting up due to the explosion which ejects them from the cartridge?
  6. Every military sim I've flown from somewhere in the 90ies until today for some reason models a chaff dispense as a small explosion which expands into an orb shaped cloud (which remains in a perfect orb shape) filled with large pieces of light gray material, often in the form of a triangle. I wonder if somebody has a few pictures of actual chaff release? Modern chaff cartridges consist of fibres instead of the much larger pieces of foil which are being modeled by sim developers in today's sims.
  7. What FPS are you getting with 8x AA ingame, no AA in Nvidia control panel and 4k using DSR? It brought my single GTX 970 to its knees at 4k DSR, no smoothing, no AA ingame, no AA in Nvidia (15 FPS). All ingame settings maxed, no FPS tweaks applied.
  8. I'm running W8.1 x64. I've opened DCS.EXE inside Dep Walker. 3 Modules show up with a yellow question mark in front of them: API-MS-WIN-CORE-KERNEL32-PRIVATE-L1-1-1.DLL API-MS-WIN-CORE-PRIVATEPROFILE-L1-1-1.DLL API-MS-WIN-SERVICE-PRIVATE-L1-1-1.DLL Another 3 modules show up with an hourglass and a yellow question mark in front of them: API-MS-WIN-CORE-SHUTDOWN-L1-1-1.DLL EXT-MS-WIN-NTUSER-UICONTEXT-EXT-L1-1-0.DLL IESHIMS.DLL For all 6 modules it says: Error opening file. The system cannot find the file. (Literally translated from my local version of Windows). EDIT1: How about I let a screenie do the talking.
  9. Will do.
  10. Have you tried the NVG Mod Setup Utility that comes with the mod? It lets you set the zoom factor amongst other things if I understand its functioning correctly. I'm not sure where you've downloaded the mod, but if you download it from the 476th website you get the utility included. http://www.476vfightergroup.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=273
  11. I reinstalled Visual C and DirectX and I keep having the issue... Singleplayer is fine. But as soon as I join an MP session I keep getting this CTD/DCS World has stopped working.
  12. With respect to this topic this is the answer I was looking for.
  13. NVG Mod I see the difference now between JHMCS and HMCS I think. If I understand it correctly the HMCS has the small squared screen over one (the dominant) eye whereas JHMCS looks more like a huge Star Wars helmet. I cant post pictures now, Im on tapatalk. Back to the initial question, do the night vision goggles used in the 10C have a zoom factor?
  14. Or the newer helmets have cameras attached to it and display the nv feed on the visor's screen?
  15. NVG Mod Snoopy, I was thinking that you can't put goggles over the large visor of an HMCS helmet. So if wearing an HMCS helmet has nothing to do with wearing goggles, how does it work? What can one and what can one not wear/carry simultaneously in the case of a Hog driver?
  16. NVG Mod Do the goggles used in the A-10C have this zoom factor? i'm deliberately saying used as I imagine the newer helmets with HMCs have a different night vision system than the older goggles.. Someone more knowledgeable should comment on this.
  17. You mean the fact that your NVG view is offset from the real viel? I'm not sure whether that is intentional to somehow simulate the parallax effect of wearing goggles or whether it's a side effect of the technique used to generate the NVG image. If the former is the case you might be lucky..
  18. Is it possible that these crashes occur because I'm running the game from within an admin account, not the admin account? Currently repairing/installing Visual C and DX. They're in the Distro folder of the regular version as well. Hopefully they're the same as those in the Beta one.
  19. OK, I managed to reproduce it. The Windows crash dialog says MSVCR110.dll is the issue. Please find attached: DCS-20141211-204728.crash DCS-Crash-20141211-204729.dmp dcs.log (a clean one, just from this session) Logs.zip
  20. I don't quite get what you are saying here.. Are you saying there is 5ms lag even BEFORE it starts drawing the 1st pixel of a frame? This is not the refresh rate but the FPS. How fast the GPU can draw pixels is a limitation of the GPU/card, not the monitor. So if my monitor has a different refresh rate than 1000ms/5ms=200, what is the exact role of the refresh rate in frame generation? And how can the rate at which a full screen gets refreshed be within a margin (56Hz - 75Hz)?
  21. Exactly. Not sure how this is an answer to my question though? :)
  22. Anybody with knowledge on the matter, help me out if you will... Since the day of old CRT monitors, Windows lets you set the refresh rate you would want that CRT monitor to operate on. Obviously, the monitor can only handle a maximum refresh rate and without overruling you can't set it higher than the monitor allows. Now on to the present day. CRTs are a thing of the past and I bet anybody younger than 16 yrs has never seen one in his/her life. In all seriousness, why does Windows still think and work with refresh rates? Why does it still treat my LCD like a CRT? Take my iiyama ProLite XU2390HS for example. It has a 5ms response time. This means that my monitor can present a new frame 1000ms/5ms=200 times per second. To talk in Windows' language: it has a refresh rate of 200 Hz. Why does Windows limit my LCD to 60 frames per second? This would mean a new frame is only presented every other 1000ms/60=16,6667ms.
  23. Currently next to none. Several people have roughly attempted the same in the past and all ended up finding out DCS has very simple arcade modeling of electronic warfare.
  24. Yeah same here. Trying to reproduce it but the randomness is making that difficult.
  25. AC Unity = Ubisoft = Crappy console port = optimisation on par with DCS / SWTOR nuff said?
