  1. I've got that same CPU/GPU combo and my DCS runs almost always at 60 FPS constant with a bunch of graphics mods incl. SweetFX. Not saying it's the only solution but you should really get rid of that old Z87 mobo. I'm surprised the CPU even works on a Z87. I've got a very nice Z97 mobo which is basically designed with the sole purpose of unleashing your CPU.
  2. Interesting.. Would like to hear/see more of this. Up until now it is not common for developers to call their module XXXXXX 2.0 to merely indicate compatibility with DSCW 2.0. One may assume every module is compatible with DSCW 2.0 upon release by default.
  3. Bear in mind that a GPU will also fill up VRAM just because it can. Call it sloppy, call it caching, it happens. Point I am trying to make is that just because your VRAM usage-o-meter reads 4GB, this does not mean DCS will run better than it would on an equal rig with 1GB or 2GB less VRAM at it's disposal. A VRAM usage monitor displays actual VRAM used, not minimum VRAM required by the game/application.
  4. I am trying to create a functionality that is sometimes seen in others sims. When the AC is on the ground I would like the stick's X-axis to control the rudder(s) and NWS. As soon as one or all wheels are off the ground I want to have the rudder(s)/NWS centered and the control input from the stick's X-axis should control ailerons. All of it in a split second ofcourse. Currently I am doing this by hand using a modifier. X-axis controls ailerons, toggled modifier + X-axis controls rudder(s)/NWS. However, at around 100kts I can stop correcting and the jet remains on the runway centreline whereas at around 120kts I rotate in most cases. The time you have to let the strick go to the centre position and to click the modifier is barely enough to make it in time (that is, before reaching 120kts). Now picture this scenario when doing a formation take-off.
  5. Flares.TGA is an empty white/transparent file.. I'm guessing it's a legacy file w/o a purpose and by now flares are generated elsewhere?
  6. Link's not working...
  7. Are you trying to perform a visual approach in a situation where you have 0 visibility?
  8. http://whatsmyrealip.com/ What does it say here?
  9. I have the same issue. Did you manage to fix it?
  10. Where did you get Diveplane's mods? I see he is banned now and they removed his files from the User Files section... Sigh.
  11. It's an improvement over the stock ones for sure! But it does indeed look a bit Star Wars (the prequel trilogy that is..). Be sure to let us know what you make of it eventually!
  12. I'm not going to get into a fight with a moderator again because by definition one will loose that one... But I recall reading that too somewhere.
  13. I know a small number of functions in the A-10C are enabled/disabled or at least in some way affected by whether the jet is on the ground or in the air. This leads me to believe that somewhere in the code a value is indicating the status of the jet: airborne or on the ground. Is it possible to capture this value and have it enable a modifier key when on the ground, and disable this modifier when airborne?
  14. Why would you want that in the first place?
  15. Bind the zoom function to the friction slider (the one right of the right throttle) and set the axis like this With a saturation of 85 or 90, depending on personal taste. Now when you get into the pit, just move the slider and put it back into the idle detent position. It's hard to write down the exact effect, but if you go into the axis tuning dialog window and move the slider, you'll see what it does. EDIT: Damn text editor doesn't let me draw my ASCII stuff. Stand by.. EDIT 2: Check "slider" Deadzone: 0 X saturation: 85 or 90 Y saturation: 100
  16. Are you using the HOTAS Warthog? If so, I have a trick for you..
  17. According to the Wiki (yeah, yeah, don't shoot me), the first production variant of the 15 had the Bis suffix, so given this I wonder which one was the actual first one...
  18. Probably yes, give or take a few days...
  19. Thank you Andrei, didn't think of that.
  20. Stupid Question? What does 'bis' mean? Ancient Latin to be precise, yes but Russian isn't based on Latin. Hence I wonder if Bis is an indicitation of second in this context. Just verified, Russian has definitely no links to Latin, it is a Slavic language.
  21. Go to ED and download the DCS World installer. Once installed you can download the modules from within the program itself. Uninstall that 1.1.0.9 thing and never install it again. It's years old.
  22. Honestly, I have yet to see a game where the world mesh with a photo overlay (e.g. FSX texture packs) look better at close range than an artificial rendering. If you want your game environment to look exactly like real life you'd have to stop using texture overlays in the first place and replace that with a 1:1 pixel rendering of every little detail visible. E.g. the thread used to attach the buttons on your coat would have their own 3D model. Last time I checked SLI only supports up to 4 GPUs...
  23. DCS World Podcast: From the 476th vFG Well, now that you menion it, the latest episode doesn't have the volume of all speakers normalised like the last few eps. did. The volume of both guest speakers was slightly louder than your own voice.
  24. What is IVC (Falcon BMS) based on and how does it work? Just throwing up a ball... No clue if it's feasible to even attempt to copy IVC's functionality. EDIT: Oops, already got my answer it seems.
