  1. Hi, I know this has been brought up before and I've been told to turn off tooltips. Done. This is fine in single player, but the problem is in multiplayer where servers have tooltips turned on I still get the giant grey box and the FPS hit that comes with it. It hangs around for ages too, can we go back to the old little yellow box? I didn't get any such problem with that. Thanks, Tom
  2. Biggest thing for me is multi-crew, the pilot being able to fly while the gunner has the flexible gunsight and able to hammer targets better, or to be able to be a door gunner while the pilot is flying.
  3. They tend to take a couple of hits and don't attack from the front where the armour is heaviest.
  4. I'm getting this in 2.0 now. However it hasn't happened in there before and I have been able to copy that profile to 1.5. I was just making some changes though and it crashed DCS. Really annoying!
  5. That work around is not working for me. Still crashes DCS. Bit annoying as the only reason I am having a problem is that I have bought a new stick and pedals.
  6. I'd propose that it would cost a lot more than a single license. But not as much as buying 10 copies. Seeing as there are regular sales there is a large markup, I wouldn't propose that this was as much as gets knocked off in sales, maybe 20%, but something to reflect a bulk buy. 7. No interest or comments? :(
  8. Hi, I was thinking it would be good to have a means for a squad to come together, pay a bit more, but get a number of multiple activations at once for aircraft such as the L-39 or other multi-crew aircraft. This would mean that people would have access to a two seater with multi-crew for instruction purposes for new joiners. It would also mean that helicopters could be crewed even if not everyone had the module - allowing for gunners etc. I'm guessing that it might be hard to police but if there was a form of registration and only, say, 10 users could be signed up to any one module at a time before another licence had to be purchased then it would mean that squads could club together on certain aircraft. It could be added to module manager that you registered with a squad on the ED website when you set up your user account. In this way the person managing the Squads account on the site could add or remove users from each module. So to sum up I'm proposing: Registered Squad(rons) on the DCS Website be allowed to purchase a licence for certain aircraft with multi-crew capability. The number of users is limited and managed through the DCS Website module manager by a responsible account who can add or remove users as required. If more players wish to use the module than there are spaces either users are removed or an additional licence is purchased. This would give Squads access to two-seat trainer aircraft allowing for proper teaching of techniques for DCS without a big outlay by a new member for a trainer. This could also be used to multi-crew aircraft such as helicopters with their gun positions. I'd be interested to hear thoughts on this, would be great if something was possible, Tom
  9. That's what I was hoping. Right now, glad to have the Spit, but looking forward to some dive-bombing attacks!
  10. Hi, Just wondering about an ability to carry bombs? There is a control listed in the settings, but I've not been able to load up with anything. Is this planned in future? Thanks, Tom
  11. Hi all, I've seen a few posts on the DCS Facebook page asking about the Warthog, I know there are plenty of reviews out there, but I thought I would add my own too. Had it a couple of weeks and I've put down my first impressions. Tom
  12. ASW destroyed my experience, see the thread about really bad tearing and the screen looking as though I was looking through glass with water running down it. It's LCTL + NumPad 1 to turn it off.
  13. It does seem a bit clunky for a sim, just wondered. Some kind of glove would be a lot better.
  14. Hi all, Now that Oculus Touch is out I was wondering about the likelihood of this kind of support for the clckable cockpits in DCS, is this planned at all? Thanks, Tom
  15. It can make a massive difference in CLoD - in the Spitfire and Hurricane anyway. Would be good to be able to, ideally in the P-51 too - but I know that has been talked about. Would just hope that this would be something in development.
  16. Hi all, Just wondered if it was going to be possible to adjust the gun convergence in the Spitfire? Otherwise I am wondering if there is any point to the ability to adjust the gun sight? Cheers, Tom
  17. Ok, problem appears fixed. 2.0 flies like a dream! Went back to the old drivers, it was smoother but still had the tearing. Pressed Lctl and NumPad1. Problem solved. Something to do with the ASW then. I think it has been enabled by OR, but now it is off in 2.0 it's great. Now I can see the benefit of the new card, settings are cranked back up and it's stunning! Thanks a lot guys, Very much appreciated! Tom
  18. Hi all, the DCS2.0 update seems to have solved the FPS issue, but I still have the tearing. I've not been able to try the potential solutions yet though, will post when zip have.
  19. Hi all, I'all have to try that out. Not been able to try anything yet, twins were a nightmare last night. Thanks for the tips, I'll let you know how I get on. Tom
  20. Thanks, I'll try all of the above. Would love to get on TS, difficulty is keeping it quiet so as not to wake anyone up! Ha!
  21. Ok, a number of questions, I'll do my best to answer :) Performance with the 970GTX was ok for the most part, there would be the ocassional stutter in places where there was a lot of activity, but it wasn't overly noticeable. I had Pixel Density up to 1.5 with that card but didn't notice a huge difference. FPS, I don't know as I could never get shadowplay to show up in game on VR, only if I used Track IR. With this card I have ony used this driver, maybe I can go back a couple to use the same ones as the 970. Oculus has suggested that I go back to the 970 and see how it goes, whether I still have the tearing. I was getting it in the OR Home programme, but that was down to having turned something on in the BIOS. I turned that off and all was good, except for DCS. Other VR apps have had no problem. There are no issues if I just use Track IR, frames are fine, detail is high and it's smooth as the proverbial baby's bottom! I'll try and give things a go this evening (tough at the moment, have 11 week old twins and an ill wife, so has to be late at night when they're all asleep!) Thanks for the help so far!
  22. Thanks! So, I'm running both DCS 1.5 - latest version - and 2.0 - latest version. Graphics Drivers: Nvidia Version 375.86 Graphics settings: The issues are worse in 2.0 than 1.5, but present in both. So for example: In the F-86 if I look at the lines on the canopy that show dive angle and roll the wings I get a number of them showing at the same time. In the F-5 I look at the wingtip rails and rock the wings it looks like the ends of the rails are crooked and warping, along with the base of the canopy. Both look as though they have water pouring over the the canopy too... In the Gazelle I have a similar problem from the shadow of the rotor blades, it makes the control panel warp as they pass over. I did record a video of it for Oculus Support, I'll see if I can attach it too. DCS 2.0 settings Should be the same (or similar in 1.5) I've changed all of the settings to low and dropped things down, it has made no difference, which is odd.
  23. Hi all, Been using OR with my GTX970 on pretty high setting without too much of a problem. I wanted to upgrade my card while I was able to so that I could deal with future updates. So far it has been a disaster, I'm now running a 1070GTX superclocked. I'm getting really bad tearing and it can look as though there is a wall of water running over the canopy when I look around. I'm in touch with oculus support, but has anyone else has such an issue? I'm getting it in both 1.5 and 2.0 and it doesn't seem to matter what I do to the settings. Thanks, Tom
  24. This is Kurfurst you are talking to...remember, nothing (not even an F-15) can beat a 109. NOTHING!
  25. I'd be interested, got to wait for the twins to be able to settle down for a night's sleep though...as things stand could be another couple of months!
