  1. Still, many times it is better to have a printed version by your knee as opposed to be searching for a page in the computer screen.
  2. All I can say is that AI AV-8B NA behavior is being tested right now.
  3. I am aware of them, but ED is the one who needs to create the hotspot detector in the first place. As soon as it is ready, we will include the "v".
  4. Very nice. Thanks.
  5. We can't say.
  6. Pocket Guide has been updated: - Warning/Caution/Advisory Lights section included. - Updated Instruments panel maps. - AN/ALQ-164 DECM pod section included. - AN/*AAQ-28 Litening II pod section started (WiP)
  7. The calling of the MFD display into a corner is available. The yellow alignment tool, that looks like a crosshair, is the one that won't appear in the release version.
  8. The targeting pod is available, but its functionality is incomplete so at this time it is more of a hindrance than help. We will finish the functionality after early release is out.

    A-A

The AV-8B NA is a dedicated CAS aircraft with secondary A/A capability for self-defense. This is the version that will be released. The AV-8B Plus is also a dedicated CAS aircraft, but in this case it has the AN/APG-65 radar which allows it to use AIM-120s, so they can take the role of air interceptors. The Plus CAS capabilities were degraded if you compare them with the NA, since the ARBS sensor was replaced by the APG-65. The PLUS makes heavy use of the LITENING II pod in order to enhance its CAS capabilities.
  10. Pocket Guide has been updated: Aircraft Limitations charts are included. Check them out carefully to know how far you can maneuver the aircraft.

    The GRMk5???

    Instruments panel has some differences.
  12. Another teaser. This one is a GIF. Link: https://media.giphy.com/media/3ohhwvLfEOFwR5ObKg/giphy.gif
  13. I think that continous rolling CAN force the oil out of the bearings, not that it will always happen.
  14. From the NATOPS section on limitations: "Flight in less than 1g conditions must not exceed 15 second continuous duration to avoid oil starvation of the engine bearings." So probably multiple rolls can build up and strip the engine bearings from oil. Notice that a 360 roll is not prohibited, continuous rolls are prohibited. These maneuvers are not about the airframe but engine control. I am speculating, based on the restriction on less than 1g flights. These limitations are either already modeled or to be modeled, but in any case they are internal damage that cannot be seen.
  15. It is tied to the oil system. Multiple rolls can strip the bearings from their oil coating and you will have an engine seizure.
  16. Pocket guide has been updated: Aircraft Limitations Section included. Read this one very carefully to avoid mishaps later. I mean it. I lost a wing and on another flight lost control for not keeping the aircraft within its operational limits. ECM Expendables section updated
  17. AV-8Bs do not have that equipment. The only sensors in the wing and in the tail cone are the RWR sensors, which are painted yellow.
  18. VTOL HUD mode is a special mode for take-offs and landings. It is not meant to be used for normal flying and as you can see, when you change to attack mode (A/A or A/G) the HUD looks like other HUDs.
  19. I understand your concern, but you are asking the wrong person. I searched countlesd photos looking for thr MLWS sensors and never found them. Even cutaways detailed the RWR sensor but that was it. So unless somebody can document that such system exists in the AV-8B, the aircraft never had that system.
  20. Typo. When using HOT track, the crosshairs are white.
  21. In my tests, the SA-8 Gecko is doable since you are engaging it at the edge of its operational envelope. Long range SAMs are a big IF, because they can engage you long before you can engage them. This is a small ARM designed to counter tactical SAM threats, the kind that you will find when attacking enemy forces in the battlefield.
  22. Pocket Guide has been updated: - Mavericks - AGM-122A - Weapons Jettison - RWR (WiP) - Notes and Warnings.
  23. The shilka at first appeared undamaged, but after a while it exploded. AFAIK, DCS has the following ground vehicle damage status: undamaged, damaged (based on HP), burning, destroyed. DCS does not have visual representation for a damaged vehicle, so it looks undamaged.
  24. AGM-122A Sidearm Test, against a Shilka and an EW radar. Shilkas are tricky. I was shot down three times before I found an engagement procedure. Unfortunately you have to point the aircraft towards the threat, otherwise the missile won't find the radar source and lock. That is why I originally tested against EW radars, they don't shoot back. :smartass:
  25. You can do whatever you want within the operational limits of the airframe and the engine.
