True but you don't always get a choice and if the fighters are anywhere near as useless as the pilots on the CSAR mission*, I'd like that option. *You have to call them in? Really? They can't see the big dots on the radar that they have and you don't?

Troubles with Salvo quantity, Mode etc.

He's right. Freefall ordnance only. -
Just tried this out with S-13 pods and S-25s. Neither the ripple interval or salvo size seem to change anything. It's moving the knobs but no effect. If I set the interval to 0.4 and the size to NO 1, all the S-13s still get launched in one solid burst. Is this because I'm using the unlimited weapons cheat?

I'll second that. They always go high so I need to compensate. Talking unguided rockets here, so does the laser rangefinder make a difference? Range-wise, if I flew any closer, I'd be a kamikaze.

The '70s? Like sidewinders that don't work above 2g.:D After a few goes the Su-25T flies okay, you just have to work the throttle more, and use the airbrakes when diving to stabilise the plane and wipe off excess speed. The rockets certainly pack more of a punch. Very impressed with how the 340mm ones work on aircraft bunkers and unleashing 4 pods-worth of S-13s makes it look like the area is being saturation bombed.

Sadly no, but the Mercury pod is on the Su-25T. The TM introduced a few other avionics upgrades including an air-to-air radar and some radar guided missiles, giving it a bit of a leg up in air-to-air engagements.
-
You sure about that? When flying it, the power-up (Num+) and power-down (Num-) seem to control engine rpm. Thrust up (PageUp) and Thrust down (PageDown) do the same, but faster.
-
Mercury pod? There is an Su-25TM too I believe.

It is more difficult to fly because it seems to have far less lift at low speeds but the weapon load is pretty clever. By going for smaller Vikhr anti-tank missiles, it can carry 16 guided AT missiles with the same range as the Maverick. The smaller Mavericks are too big for things like tanks and too small for bunkers. The Vikhr has the same range as the Maverick and is faster (Mach 1.8 ). The A-10C struggles is missions like CSAR where you have 4 SAM systems and 3 MBTs and only 4-6 missiles depending on whether you edit or not. You either have to use the gun and play chicken with a SAM, waste a cluster bomb, or make several passes on the T-72s, while being pelted by AAA. Even the BTR-80's 30mm is no joke on a moving turret. It would be far easier just to use a guided missile on everyone of those suckers. For longer range SAMs, you have the Kh-58 and for hardened targets, the Kh-29L or laser-guided 340mm rockets. The GSh-2-30 easily takes care of lightly armoured stuff when you've ran out of missiles and for heavier armour you can use swarms of 57mm rockets from the 32x57mm pods. I'd comfortably wage 1 57mm rocket against 100 30mm rounds. As regards knowing where the enemy is, that's always the battle. My only gripes are as follows: 1. Lack of proper training missions; 2. No short-cut for start-up and shut-down; 3. No clickable cockpit. I have howevered stumbled on how to use rockets, cannon, gun pods and dumb bombs and have proceeded to torment local civilian populations.

Su-25 controls. I notice there are separate actions for power-up and thrust-up.
-
Bugger! Well I fired some large rockets at some buildings and I feel happier now anyway.
-
Are mouse controls editable in options for the Su-25T? They appear not to be. At the moment the mouse just looks around the cockpit. I want to use it to click buttons. Is that possible?

In A-10C 1.1.1.1 standalone it also lists the weapon and says GSh301.

It's working now. This DCS World is a strange system.

I press ESC and get the usual menu but can't click 'QUIT' for some reason.

Exhausting but I think I'm there now. All I need to do know is learn how to fly the Grach.

Okay, I renamed it DCS Old and am trying again. Right that worked. Can I change the folder name back now or will that re-screw everything?
-
Hmm, with DCS World, all the DCS stuff is under the Program Files/Eagle Dynamics folder no? I've since re-installed DCS World and the Actions for the Su-25 still mirror those for the A-10C. When you open Options>>Controls in DCS World, should the Actions list column for the Su-25 match those for the A-10C? Could someone answer that?

That was my point.:smilewink:

All sorts of problems with DCS World here too. A-10C dissappeared from the main menu overnight.
