  1. Awesome! I know its quite old but still awesome!
  2. As im training to use the GAU-8 the way it should be used i encountered a problem with the TGP. If you roll in to the target, the TGP moves away from the target. This is good and bad at the same time. Good: the symbol on the HUD moves away so your target isnt masked by it. Bad: in low visibility environments it may be hard to identify your target with the naked eye. In this case i want the symbol to stay where it was so i can use that to aim. Track: L00k at my beautiful 150 rounds T-80 kill. Okay it was a bit low in the end and it is possible to score a 40 rounds kill but that doesnt matter. The track shows the problem. Just keep an eye on the TGP symbol on the HUD. You will notice that it moves a few meters away from the target as soon as i roll in. Why? And can i stop the TGP from doing that? 150 rounds kill.trk
  3. Well in this case...i guess we have to wait a few years.
  4. Let her fly! Depending on how old her is she is going to join us in multiplayer soon or later. Just my 2 Cents.
  5. Yea it was just some silly idea of me.
  6. It seems that the main problem is that the elevator doesnt center itself after pressing up or down. The aileron does that.
  7. Hm...okay. Im going to try.
  8. Thats going to be hard since i need my camera for freetrack. Would it be enough to show a gameplay video with the controls monitor (RCTL+Enter) on? It should be easy to see that im using a keyboard that way.
  9. No they dont. Neither do AMD cards. But all cards can render clouds in an efficient way. The problem is DCS not using the new hardware features of modern cards. I dont come to the conclusion in means of performance. It is something subjective. I just dont like them. Nobody of you has to understand that :) Thats why im recommending AMD cards for the right price range. Even if i dont like them they deliver good performance when used the right way.
  10. Im going to try it this evening!
  11. Its just a feeling. Nothing more. I dont like those cards. When i look at the reviews of AMD cards and they take the card apart and show the details of the hardware i always think that the card isnt good. But the price is so low that they give you much performance per money. Once the "per money" aspect stops being important i find nvidia cards being being the optimal choice.
  12. After all that practice you should be able to refuel while flying with your keyboard
  13. Looking around makes it really hard. Im able to do a quick check of my fuel gauge while refueling (im using freetrack). And even that split second makes me struggle a bit. However, checking the fuel gauge is important for me! I dont want to refuel to max since the warthog gets too heavy. I usually stop at half tanks full. EDIT: 2 deadzone and 25 curvature here
  14. Yeah the price i know. Its always like that with AMD basically the cards are bad. But they are so cheap that they compete with the next lower class of nvidia. For vram: I dont think that you really need huge amounts of VRAM. Im running a Gigabyte GTX 670 (the card with the three Windforce fans). It has a very slight stock OC and 2 gb of vram. So far i didnt have to OC the card and i didnt get any VRAM problems. DCS is running on highest settings with 45 fps in MP on 1920x1080.
  15. Its an overclocked 7970 with more memory. You can go for the 4gb version of the 680 and overclock it. It will give you more performance that this one. Overclocking doesnt make any card better than any other as all cards can be overclocked. Some more, some less. The difference isnt big though. Just go for a good 680, oc it and you will see that the card is better than any 7970. PS.: If you find a serious comparison of an overclocked 680 and this card...that may change my mind :smilewink:
  16. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1658142&postcount=25 Just set it up like this.
  17. Wanna get best performance? Go for TITAN as it is single gpu and therefore wont cause any sli problems a 690 may cause. Wanna get best performance for your money? You said 800 bucks. This kicks TITAN and 690 out. So go for the 680. If you want to save some money you should take a look at the 7970 as it delivers a bit more performance than the 670 but costs the same. I have found AMD cards being better for the money at all ranges except the ranges where AMD doesnt offer any card (680 and TITAN). But if you dislike AMD i give you the advice not to try the 650 as it offers very poor performance for the price. 660 Ti maybe an idea.
  18. Oh yeah yet another refueling thread! I love refueling! I trained it for a few hours in a selfmade mission. Im now able not to destroy the tanker. The number of reconnects varies from 0 to 20 or something like that. Im flying with a t.flight hotas x so no super precision tm warthog here.
  19. I just thought it might be as easy as changing some config file where the path to the config folder is specified. I need those two installations for testing. One clean and one dirty.
  20. Hi all! Is it possible to have two independant installations of DCS World on the same pc. My current problem is that all installations use the same settings folder in c:\users\user\saved games\dcs world. I know i could use another windows user but i want to switch the installations without having to change the user account. Is this possible?
  21. Also, doesnt having the apu on while the turbines are on high load damage the helicopter?
  22. Sure but it will take longer for you to get in another plane than it takes in the sim. IMO the repair option is intended to repair the whole aircraft. This includes every system. Even the unimportant ones like the engines ;)
  23. This happened in multiplayer last night. If DCS is automatically generating tracks then i should be able to find it but if it doesnt, i dont have it.
  24. I double checked this. Im sure there was about 3k fuel on both sides.
  25. You thought im a noob and i dont know how to startup the engines right? Well, i know how to start them. Last night i got hit by a sam. Both my engines caught fire. I pulled the fuel shutoff handles and used the fire extinguisher. I started the APU in the air to get some power to the systems and landed the aircraft at a nearby airfield. After i got repaired by the ground crew i tried to start the engines again. However, i wasnt able to. The engines began to spin but they didnt burn any fuel. I had pushed in the shutoff valves at that time. I even reactivated everything. So im pretty sure the boost pumps and the inverter were on. I tried failed startup procedure from the manual, it didnt work. I tried to reactivate the APU. But once the APU was down, it didnt start again. It spooled up to 60% and then falled off again. It never fired any fuel on that startup attempts. Here is my question: Why didnt the engines restart and why didnt the APU restart? What can i do to get them start after an emergency shutdown and repair?
