  2. Thanks! I just bought the 1.1.1.1 DE version and activated the 1.2.2 module with it.
  3. I am sure this has been answered yet, but i am not able to find the answer. What do i have to buy in order to get a key that can be used for activating the BS2 Module? The 1.1.1.1 German Download Version, or 1.2.2 English? I prefer German because DCS World may be translated in future and with the German Key i would be able to get the german translation right. Or is this wrong? However, if the 1.1.1.1 key wont activate the module it makes no sense to buy that. Was anyone an answer to my question?
  10. I recently tried the first Instant Action Mission of the A-10C to test my configurations. After multiple restarts due to config problems i got everything working and had fun going guns and rockets only. I used a Maverick to get rid of the Shilka and destroyed the bridge with the gun. After letting my AI wingman destroy the Tank group (he used mavs) i found myself at the column. In order to destroy the tanks easier, i jettisoned all my bombs. However, I didnt manage to destroy a single tank with my gun :(. I used my remaining mavericks to take out 3 of 4 tanks. The last one turned out to be a problem: All my ammo was gone. I tried multiple times to assign the target to my wingman, he always said RUNNING IN almost instantly and followed me. Isn't it possible to give the AI a moving tank as target? PS.: I had to zip the trk because it exceeds the 5 MB size limit of a TRK file. How can a TRK be that big? AI moving target.zip
  11. +1. I dont have to say anything more about this.
  12. If you browse the Servers available, you will find that every Server has a Name and a currently loaded mission. If you click on the Server once, you will be able to read the first few lines of the briefing of the currently loaded mission. While this lets players read a bit about the mission before joining, this stops Servers from transmitting any information about the Server except than the name. There is no possibility to write some server rules or a TS Server address or other important things like SLmod or how to get the password for the Server. (You can write it into the Name, or into every single mission briefing, but thats not the way how the mission briefing / server name should be used!) I would be great if server hosters would be able to set a custom Server message. The message maybe limited to a certain amount of characters, as long as the limit is more than 160 characters ;)
  13. Maybe, but the wheels are still big enough to prevent the plane from getting stuck in the mud. It is unrealistic that every aircraft in DCS gets stuck instantly and cant move a single inch.
  14. Repair when wheels are worn? You can just repair the aircraft as normal, that will fix flat tyres, or do you mean something else? Turning the plane around would be really nice, but not realistic at all. AFAIK the planes are moved by a car attached to the front wheel in order to move them into the bunker. In my opinion, there is another important feature missing: An option to recover your aircraft if you are stuck in the grass! But thats another topic.
  15. So the SU-25 needs both brake chutes and a "special" cooling mechanism for the brakes in order to perform a routine landing! :D
  16. This is what i call low airfield requirements! As your pictures show, these Airplanes dont get stuck instantly once you hit grass. It all depends on the type of ground as well as the weather situation. I guess P51 would sink into the grass if it has been raining all day. In order to keep it simple to simulate, planes should still get stuck on grass, but not that fast. Recover option is even more important in my eyes.
  17. Did you test that or is it an estimation? Ultra High Settings? I think you forgot PhysX and other Nvidia specific techniques. That fps is quite nice. sli/xfire burns a lot of energy and might give you headaches with problems like microstutter and wont give you the option to upgrade except buying two all new cards but if you haven't problems with that your system performs exceptionally good for the choosen price range.
  18. High ramerate peaks are quite normal, espacially at low resolutions. Btw what resolution do you use? I am running 1080p
  19. Quite right. In order to have the ground dynamics realistic, EDGE should calculate the drag and wheel-sinking-specs not only based on the type of ground but also depending on wheather situation, wheel size and number as well as speed and wheight of the aircraft. What would happen if some jet runs out of runway in rl? No one would abadon a jet just because it is stuck in the grass. Why is this done in DCS? I think there should be an option in the comms menu which makes the ground crew pick up my jet and carry it back on the taxiway.
  20. I also have a Radeon HD 7870 in my second pc. My fps average is higher than yours, but i have msaa off. Just my 2 cents on your card pick: Why do you buy 2 upper middle class graphics cards instead of one high-end card? You could have got a gtx680 for that money. Especially for DCS one should always prefer single GPU over multi GPU. The only games that *may* benefit from two 7870 over one gtx680 or one 7970 are those triple-A titles that get their own sli/xfire profile and their own performance analytics by nvidia and amd. You had a reason for buying two 7870s instead of gtx680 or 7970 hadnt you? I would like to know why you decided that way. I hope you are going to have lots of fun with your xfire build
  21. I assume you have the lastest drivers for your graphics card installed. Both AMD and Nvidia released an update this month. The fact that ur system performs worse than others with the same hardware specs should make you think about your system. Maybe your os is full of software that slows your system? You can also download a few benchmarks for your cpu and graphics card and compare the results with other people with your graphics card(s) and cpu. Just to make sure that your hardware performs as it should.
  22. The first sim i ever played, A-10 Cuba! featured way stronger wheelbrakes as well as quite tough grass. Taxiing was possible without any damage. Takeing off was hard due to the high drag that was introduced by the grass. Landing was possible, but only if u flew slow and your plane was light. Otherwise your wheels got damaged. This sounds quite unrealistic and i am fine with weaker wheelbrakes as long as they arent weaker than the wheelbrakes of a real A-10. Back to topic: Heavy jets with small wheels like F-15 or F-18 should sink into the ground quite fast. However with bigger wheels like A-10 or even the Frogfoot, taxiing should get easier. The Mustang should be able to taxi, take off and land on flattened grass even with lots of fuel and ammo loaded.
  23. +1! I dont even want to know how many A-10C's i had to abadon just because i touched the grass! The weak wheelbrakes of the Hog makes the problem even more important, but i guess the wheelbrakes of a real A-10 are not much stronger.
  24. This! What an idea!
  25. 60 - 30 depending on situation in A-10C. The HDR effects and also the flood lights seem to cost quite a bit of performance. Settings all to max except MSAA off and Bushes to 0 m System: Intel® Core™ i5-3450 Asus Radeon HD 7870
