[REPORTED]Crash: setShader::DX11Renderer::RenderAPI
Oznerol256 replied to deadzone's topic in Game Crash
ekg, your log shows an interesting error just before the access violation: DX11BACKEND: failed to create vertex buffer. Reason: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVEDMicrosoft writes the following about this error: So apparently your gpu became unavailable and consequentially DCS crashed. Did you unplug your GPU by any chance? More seriously the crash could have been caused by your graphics driver crashing. Are you running the latest drivers? -
I was flying online and after a few minutes dcs crashed in an interesting way: The framerate gradually got slower until i was left with a static image. DCS stopped responding and i had to close it. The entire "slow down" sequence took about 0.5 seconds. I had this crash twice in a row. Both times on the blue flag server on 1.5, trying to fly a SU-25T from Vaziani to MM59. The logs only show a lot of sound errors, nothing more serious than that. At least i couldn't find anything. Logs.zip

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 4
Oznerol256 replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
The FARP at MM59 (Beslan/Tbilisi-Lochini) still has most of its units standing on the FARP and not next to it on the ground. This makes the units impossible to lock with Mavericks. This is really bad especially in the 70-80s scenario since mavericks are the only way to safely shoot the strela. However as mentioned the strela is standing on the farp, so the only way to take it out is by baiting out all of its missiles and then using CBUs or guns. I have reported this on the buddyspike forum three weeks ago and greg responded, but apparently it is still not fixed. Buddyspike thread: http://www.buddyspike.net/forum/m/32856486/viewthread/24510113-units-standing-on-ground-at-farp-beslan-tibilisilochini-mm59 -
Alright it looks like RemoteFX is made for virtual machines and not for the actual server itself. I don't have access to a windows server so that's why i can't test what i read (or dont read apparently). So there are two things that you can test: First, try using teamviewer instead of remote desktop. I have just tested "teamviewering" from my phone into my pc and playing DCS 1.5 and it worked, including flying. Framerate on the phone is awful of course but the pc didn't care and ran DCS at high framerates. Most frames just didnt make it through the network. Apparently teamviewer does not use the same technology as remote desktop and allows the pc you remote into to use its installed graphics drivers. The second thing you could try is changing your remote desktop settings. The dxdiag report shows your remote desktop connection running at 16 bits of color depth. Try 32 bits and the highest bandwidth setting (LAN or something). Again rise of flight will be helpful for testing.
-
Should be fine. Either RemoteFX works or it doesnt.
-
I should have figured that out myself because the dxdiag report shows it. Windows Server 2008 supports RemoteFX so thats good. This guide should show you how to enable RemoteFX: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff830365.aspx Do you have some other directx game you can test if RemoteFX is the problem or if DCS is the problem.
-
Okay, your GPU is reported as a card called "RDPDD Chained DD" (mine shows GTX670 in the same spot). I found out that this is a special graphics driver used to send images over remote desktop. Apparently this also makes accelerated graphics impossible as the originally installed drivers (your catalyst or geforce drivers) cannot load. So maybe it works when you work on the machine directly, i.e. not using remote desktop? EDIT: What OS are you running on your machine? Maybe we can try getting RemoteFX to run. It is an expansion to remote desktop that allows DirectX (and only DirectX, so no OpenGL) accelerated graphics to work over remote desktop.
-
Are you sure the remote machine is DX11 capable? What does dxdiag show? If it does show DX11 it is strange and should work. If it doesnt it just means that the render 3D=false setting doesn't change the DX11 hardware requirement.
-
Maybe not. The new engine initializes the 3D engine right on startup. If the config you mentioned disables it completely it should still work.
-
Ohh interesting! Although newer Intel HD Graphics support DX11, so maybe it still needs DX11? Only one way to find out!

Is it possible to install all owned modules at once?
Oznerol256 replied to Boris's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Have a look at this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030 It explains you how to use the dcs updater to do various things, including installing modules. You can use the updater to install multiple modules at once. Example: DCS_updater.exe install MI-8MTV2 VEAO_HAWKThis will install both the MI-8 as well as the HAWK one after the other without further user intervention. For a complete list of the module names just scroll down on the thread i linked. -
The new graphics engine requires DX11. So unless you manage to get dcs running without graphics at all (so command line only) it will need a DX11 gpu. Unfortunately we have no way to run dcs on the command line yet. However, ED has announced that they will release a dedicated server which is usually command line only or with an optional graphical tool for configuration. So yeah, without a dedicated server you need DX11 capable hardware. Maybe you can try buying an ond shitty DX11 gpu from ebay? The server shouldn't need a lot in the F10 map, right? EDIT: Of course if you manage to run EDGE with DX9 or OpenGL that could help you as well but since EDGE was specifically made for DX11 i don't think it is possible to change the graphics API.

You mean these ones? Sorry to disappoint you but these are external fuel tanks. They contain fuel for your jet. They can be jettisoned (usually done when empty) but they don't contain any fuze or anything like that. They dont even fly in a predictable manner after you drop them. The tanks are pressurized with bleed air from your engines. That pushes the fuel out of the tanks and into your internal fuel tanks. This means your internal fuel tank will be full when your externals go empty so you can drop them as soon as possible. Also note that you can check their fuel level on the fuel quantity gauge after the external fuel tanks with the fuel display selector (rotary know below the fuel quantity gauge). For more details on this check manual page 121.

I found another bug with operation cruise. On the target area at 37T FH 832 731 there is a shilka halfway stuck in a building in the south of the city. It is not fully hidden inside the building but it was difficult to spot (especially with using the IR modes of the TGP. for some reason the CCD mode works better with vehicles clipping into stuff) and the building had to die in the process. Not as mission-breaking as my previous bug, but still.

I have found a bug in Operation Cruise. The Target area at 37T GH 177 797 cannot be completed. Two AAA emplacements and two Stinger comms guys are stuck inside buildings. Additionally, north east of the town there are three bunkers and an armed watchtower that are not visible in flight and therefore cannot be killed.

There are two lines of versions for DCS, so called branches. One is called release and one is called openbeta. Normally the DCS upater follows the release branch. So whenever there is a new version for the release branch the updater will download the differing files and make your game files look like they are in that new version. You can make the updater switch branches. It you switch to the openbeta branch the updater will make your game files look like they are in the most recent version of the openbeta branch (which happens to be DCS 1.5 right now). For a step-by-step explanation how to do that see this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030 In short you will be using the following command to switch to the openbeta branch: DCS_updater.exe update openbetaAnd to switch back: DCS_updater.exe update release
-
Well DCS 1.5 is fully released. You can try the entire thing. Everything sort of works. It is just not officially deemed stable by ED. That doesn't mean you can't try it out. You can easily make the updater load DCS 1.5 and you can revert back to 2.0. You can also install a seperate second DCS install that tracks the openbeta branch. All of this has been released by ED, so it is not working around anything or sort of hacking into something.
-
The beta is public. If you tried it you could probably answer that question for yourself. It is unstable and buggy. My guess is that ED will take months to get 1.5/2 stable enough to change the "stable" branch of the updater over.

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 3
Oznerol256 replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Have you checked yet? I tried to check myself but the statistics (even the events) only show deaths of units and it doesn't even show their position so it is difficult to find FARP/airfield captures in the statistics. I know the final result is not affected by this FARP. I just want the final map status to reflect the actual final state of the map. -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 3
Oznerol256 replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
I am pretty sure blufor managed to capture the Farp at MM59 (Beslan Tibilisi-Lochini) in the last 20 minutes. Xcom are you sure the map you posted is correct? The website and the desktop app stopped working in the last hour or so. -
[To the Devs] Please let us alter the .lua in 1.5
Oznerol256 replied to Celestiale's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Especially with this extension: https://sourceforge.net/projects/nppsaveasadmin/ This makes Notepad++ ask for admin privileges whenever it needs them to save a file. Much more practical than starting notepad as admin and opening the files after that. -
If it is just for testing of settings on your personal machine you can just record a track and play it. When you play a track everything is actually simulated, just with a prerecorded set of inputs. The huey instant action missions (target practice and ground targets) get you to shooting and explosions pretty quickly. After you are done press "Save track" on the debriefing screen and save your track. You can play your track using the replay option on the main menu.

Look, there are two concurrent versions or branches of DCS. You can "subscribe" to either one of them and the updater will automatically keep you up to date on the branch you have currently subscribed to. The problem is that your install is subscribed to the release branch. The tip of that branch (most recent version of that branch) is 1.2.16. The tip of the openbeta branch points to 1.5. So if you want 1.5 you will have to switch the branch. The command line calls do exactly that. Extra infos: Every install can be subscribed to a different branch. Therefore you can have two installs, one subscribed to release and one to openbeta. This is what Method #2 does.

Please Enable Multiplayer Server List Sorting

Wasn't this feature announced as one of the new things in 1.5?
