  1. Are you on low settings? I can spot tanks just by zooming in at 10nm. Well, i won't find any but if i know there is one i can see it. Also, the TGP is basically a second camera that is placed just over they ground where the TGP looks at. That's right, no extremly zoomed camera, a normal one that is placed right over the ground. That also makes tanks flicker sometimes on the TGP when the camera goes inside their model. The face that the camera is placed right where the TGP looks at makes the rendering engine switch to high levels of detail for the TGP camera. That's why you always see high quality stuff on the TGP.
  2. Screenshots are saved in the saved games folder inside your documents folder. That path seems to be hardcoded (or written into the registry). So when moving DCS it should change. However, some things like application launches or opening files could stop working. For example, the updater launches DCS after he is done. If that path is saved in some config file or in the registry, moving DCS destroy that link. But since you haven't had any of those issues yet, DCS doesn't seem to be using any absolute paths other than the saved games folder.
  3. Okay, that is stupid. Sorry, it actually isn't but i have just messed with directory junctions for the past 4 hours because i had an infinite directory loop and robocopy wasn't able to delete it. Im not gonna create one of these damn junctions.
  4. My PC contains a SSD as well as a HDD. I have DCS installed on the SSD for faster loading times. When ED launched the Open Beta, i downloaded it and put it on my HDD as my SSD hasn't much space left. However, with the release of 1.2.7 it became obvious that the beta is permanent and will be used for future Beta versions. So, i want to move the beta DCS on my SSD, next to my stable DCS. How can i do that without having to download the whole 12GBs again? I have tried using the open beta installer. It doesn't find the other installations and just downloads the whole thing. I could just move the files from the HDD to the SSD. I don't think that is a clean way to do it. But it is a beta right? I want it to be as clean as possible in order to report bugs.
  5. Yes. And if you cross the cables from the left and right pedals, the whole thing would work the other way without the need of any complex mechanism. After all, it still is just a convention.
  6. Actually, i wouldn't have expected that. I thought the engines would use fuel from both fuel systems at the same rate (50/50) once XFEED is open. However, your example shows that it doesn't. It obviously tries to balance the fuel systems out. That offsets the use of TK GATE oven more.
  7. AAR fills all tanks available except from the ones that you disabled using the "fill disable" buttons. AFAIK, fuel cross-feed does exactly what you wrote. both engines get their fuel from both fuel systems. However, there is also a gate valve (TK GATE or something). If you open it, the fuel can flow freely from one system to the other. I can't think of a situation to use it, but it is there.
  8. No there isn't another reason. So you can use mods in 1.2.7 but you shouldn't post bug reports then. Of course you can still uninstall the mods once you discovered a bug to make sure the problem lies in vanilla DCS.
  9. Track is up now. Well, i dont think the server had already crashed as i was able to do quite a few radio calls in that time. I was flying in formation with the tanker. I guess it was one or two minutes until the crash came. I might be wrong, but im absolutely sure it was more than 30 secs.
  10. Well, the russian tankers both had already landed. I didnt check the other US tanker when SHELL's brain quit, but i didnt hear any RTB also. So i guess fuel wasn't the reason why the tanker crashed. What kind of pattern do the tankers fly? I contacted Shell while he was making a turn. The bank angle seemed like he was just about to leave the turn.
  11. Just found another problem. I tried AAR and that seems to have crashed the tanker AI. He didnt respond anymore and stopped making any control inputs. He flew straigt ahead with a bank angle of 30°, slowly descending. I tried to contact him until we both had reached 13k feet (down from 16k). At that point i got a server ping timeout. The track is 84MB's because i had already been flying for a couple hours. EDIT: Download track
  12. Seems like i got a crash here. DCS stopped working shortly after a formation landing. I couldn't find the server afterwards, so the server seems to have gone down too. Anyway, here is my track: Download client trk
  13. For the people of you who ask themselves what causes the tearing, i have posted an explanation on another thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1726869&postcount=20
  14. Apart from that, a good mission briefing contains the important ATC frequencies as well as FARP and Tanker freqs (and TACAN freqs). However, i see too many missions without it. Especially the Tanker freqs are very important as there is no other trick to find their freqs.
  15. I have a question: What happens if one reaches the borders of the world?
  16. You can find the ATC freq in the F10 view. Just click on the >me< button to center the view on your plane. Then click on the closest airport symbol and you will find the ATC freq in the info box in the lower left corner.
  17. Yeah, download speed of the auto-updater has wasted a lot of time of many forum members already. I guess the downloader of the module manager has the same problem
  18. The DCS sounds folder even contains the intro sound of LOMAC. It isnt used anywhere, so why occupy the peoples HDD (or SSD) space with that?
  19. I hope the F-15C module costs not more than 15€.
  20. DCS Modules are more than Addons. They do more than a DLC for a shooter does. Actually, the modules are the only real reason why everybody downloads DCS World. And thats not a fault, it is intended that way.
  21. Did you select the EGI on the NMSP? No, just kiddin. In my experience, as long as you dont forget anything, the EGI works like a charm. I never halad any problems with it (except for the times when i forget something). Can you post a track with the EGI not working correctly even though you didnt forget something?
  22. Well, the only efficient way to debug Lua in DCS would be without the actual sim running because if you need to start the sim, you loose a lot of time because DCS needs to load every time you want to test. However, without running DCS it seems to be a bit hard. You would have to simulate a bunch of things like all the units and their movements, all the events and so on.
  23. Because this is DCS. The ejection seat is a default feature of every combat simulator. That's why they also modelled the ejection of the P51D. They just hold the standards
