  1. Hello, I'd like to create a flight where the aircraft is sitting on the parking spot at airport A for 30 minutes, then start up, depart, fly at its normal speed (i.e. not nearly stalling nor with afterburner) through a series of waypoints and land at airport B. Some problems: The aircraft is starting up immediately at mission start time 0615. If I change the start time to 0645 it will not stay for 30 minutes, but rather suddenly appear out of nowhere at 0645. The speed it flies at is really odd. Either full afterburner or nearly stalling. I've tried to untick the Fixed time, but then the mission editor will not allow the mission to save. I cannot understand the logic of the GS and Fixed time checkboxes. Must I really know, and calculate, the ground speed and distance to set a fixed time at landing when I really do not have a requirement for the aircraft to land at a specific time. I only need it to depart at the correct time and land when it gets there.
  2. Agreed! There is so much to learn and do in each DCS aircraft, and so little free time. To be somewhat current on the various types I try to use my limited amount of time available learning the systems and actually fly the aircraft. This instead of scratching my head every time I want to fly wondering how I start this thing. It just does not interest me.
  3. This seem to be an acceptable alternative. Thank you!
  4. That won't shut down the engines though... I'll try it. The idea was to be able to start the aircraft easily again with auto-start. With this solution a lot of switches will be in the wrong position. But I understand that what I am looking for is not available, so I'll give it a try...
  5. I see what you mean. Still it is a procedure that needs to be remembered or written down. The start and shut down procedures really do not interest med all that much. There is plenty of other stuff to learn. Hence I would prefer the auto-stop feature...
  6. I think you can just repeat the key combo and it will shutdown. Unfortunately no...
  7. I can find and use the auto-start button (Left Win + Home), but I cannot find any Auto-stop keybinding. Although I understand I can just shut down the engines, I`d really like to use the Auto-stop feature available to most aircraft. Just me not finding it?
  8. I had this issue again today and was not able to regain elevation control ofter doing a spotlight search. I tried to do this both in RWS and TWS without success...
  9. Thank you Tholozor, I'll try that. Is this a bug? You say command a STT on empty space - how is this done? Can I not STT only on a target?
  10. Good suggestion Arikaj, but unfortunately not the problem. I`m both in RWS and TWS manual while the elevation is stuck...
  11. Thank you AstonMartinDBS!
  12. Hello, I have these issues that I was hoping you could help me understand: 1 - When creating a custom waypoint. Is there a way to create this waypoint on the ground or do I have to go into the F10 map, find the location and extract the elevation from there? Inserting 0 ft/m will only set the waypoint below the surface if not at sea level. 2 - With the diamond in the FLIR on the right DDI and Maverick selected on the left DDI, pressing the FLIR FOV button changes the MAV FOV not the FLIR FOV (?). Why is this? Zoom is in the FLIR DDI though. 3 - I've never really seen IFF identify a hostile aircraft until I launch a missile at it. Friendlies seem to be identified correctly. Is this because a target not responding to IFF could be both hostile and civil/neutral? Then why is it classified as hostile a few sec after shooting at it? 4 - For some reason my radar elevation stops working from time to time. I'm sure there is a menu I get lost in, but when it happens I am unable to change the radar elevation. Any idea what I can do to get the function back? Thank you!
  13. I understand. This was not really what I was after, as I was more wondering why it is greyed out and not available in some aircraft within DCS. Yes, this was a bit too complicated for me I'm afraid...
  14. Hello, As the topic say I am unable to bind certain key bindings to the Warthog Throttle or Stick. I'd like to add Auto Start for all aircraft to Button 32 on my throttle. In most it is available, but not in the Viggen. In that aircraft the feature is greyed out for the Warthog Throttle and Stick. The same goes for Flashlight in the A-10C Any ideas?
  15. It is mapped to one of my HOTAS buttons, but I was only using the antenna elevation button, not the HCU thumb wheel as suggested bu Golo and BonerCat. Using the latter made everything so much better I was not aware, but this helped a lot! Thank you! Thank you! I was only using the radar elevation knob. Using the HCU thumb wheel made everything much better!
  16. Hello, When adjusting the radar elevation up or down it is moving so fast it is difficult to get a precise elevation. When I just barely tap the radar elevation button the radar I always seem to go too far. Is this just how it is or is it my setup and something I can change so that it is more smooth?
  17. Hello, My Kaspersky Antivirus automatically deletes the file \ProgramFiles\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\edCore.dll The reason is reported to be: VHO:HackTool.Win32.Inject.gen Anyone else see the same?
  18. This is not STT as I do not want to warn the target too early. Your explanations makes sense. Thank you I have some issues with a two bar scan as I feel the radar beam is very narrow. It is not much of an altitude change the target needs to make before it is lost...
  19. I've been some time away from DCS and Tacview, but I remember from an earlier version that if a flight was selected, all events related to that flight was highlighted in the Playback control bar. This highlight appears to be gone in my version 1.8.1. Can I get it back somehow? There was also a list of connected clients, but now I can only find a large list of Active Objects that can be very large in some missions. Can the older list be found somewhere?
  20. I just did a flight now where I had an enemy in RWS at about 10.000'. The range was about 20NM. My radar was set so that at the location of the enemy my radar would see from 19.000' down to 7.000', hence the target should be within sight of the radar and no obstructions in between. Still, the target L&S was dropped after a short time. While in TWS it appears to work better though.
  21. Thank you both for your assistance :) It might very well be that I've mixed some buttons up. I tried a mission just now and did lose the track a couple of times. This was a helicopter target that might very well been shortly behind terrain. Also, it appears as I did not tilt my radar enough down sometimes. I assume it is necessary to make sure the radar sweeps over the target to keep track of it (L&S?) in TWS (when the target is marked by a star - not STT)?
  22. Hi, I'm learning the F-18 and have a lot of things I do not understand. This is one of them: While locking a target and seeing the diamond in the HUD the radar suddenly loses the lock. Looking at the radar I can still see the target, but the lock has been lost. Locking the target up again only to lose the lock another time within a few seconds. What am I doing wrong? Bonus question: My AIM120 stays on Visual mode even though I STT a target. How can I get the steering, range and shoot ques back? Thank you
  23. If I have another program running it will not imediately change to that when Alt-Tab'ing. This is what I see. Note that the taskbar is visible, but when I click on anything there the screen is not showing the program I wanted, but rather DCS in fullscreen again:
  24. Usually nothing happens. It is as if I did not press Alt-Tab at all. If I have a Chrome window running it may be displayed, but DCS is in the background still, so I can't see my desktop for example.
  25. Hi, When I try to Alt-Tab out of DCS this do not work properly. Usually it does not work at all... How can I fix this?
