  1. Yeah, thanks all of you. Here's some recent Libya photos (Dec 2010, Jan/Feb 2011) In the office: Camp gate Nr1: Oil rig: Wheel of a rig chasis: VAOS Ras Lanuf - Nafoora - Sarir pipeline (182.6 km of lenght in Nafoora): Dawn over Nafoora: Making the camp green: Hope you'll like these! Cheers!
  2. He worked there for Austrian/Maltese oil company called VAOS (used to be Voest Alpine Oil Service but during '90s changed name to Value Added Oil Service) and was stationed at Mars El Brega, Ras Lanuf and Nafoora in period from 1987 thru Feb26th, 2011 when evacuated by RAF C-130 landing at Nafoora Airstrip. Airstrip was under construction for repairs so noone expected a Hercules landing there. First one that came was a RAF bird taking 50 workers (wintershall, Bonatti, VAOS, MAN) to Malta and the second Herc boarded remaining group of Europeans. Second Herc (the one my father was in was fired upon by local population (rebels). They also tried to puncture the tires but were beaten off by RAF/SAS servicemen on board of the aircraft. Hercs egressed 20m AGL over terrain and 10m ASL over Mediterranean. Too bad noone ('xcept reporters) wasn't allowed taking photos on board... He was a VAOS - Nafoora camp supervisor and now had to report all VAOS equipment losses to rebels and locals but also to ex-military personnel (who joined rebels) and rushed in with guns and RPGs and confiscated all they found worthy and broke all they couldn't carry. He was shocked to see familiar Libyan faces from local villages he cooperated with turning hostile over night plundering what they lived off. Last camp he supervised was VAOS Nafoora located at 29°15'39.68"E / 21°32'56.92"E (if you look at Google maps it's the one with grass field in between containers). I'll post some of his photos from Libya here although not related to topic of this thread for you to see if you wish!
  3. RAF Hercules flights evacuate civilians from Libya: Check the grey haired guy at 3:00 and 3:22! That's my father! Here's the photo of two of us:
  4. Hey, I played some FC1.12 last night and noticed I had better or more reallistic general visibility foggy horizon during gameplay than the one I get with FC2 and DCS:BS? Perhaps I've got advanced haze disabled or simply, my GPU ain't strong enough to produce it? I also noticed there's no general visibility slider in Mission Editor - Weather tab and no advanced haze checkbox in Options - graphic settings at all with FC2? Any ideas how to create more reallistic visibility? Have some sceenies for comparison: FC1.12a (made by Lambite): FC2 (me): Perhaps this can be addressed in future FC2 patches as I completely miss general visibility setting today! Distant hills and mountains are a bit too sharp IMHO! Thanks all!
  5. Hey I was there back in 2007...with you being from Slovenia perhaps we should meet there or even b4! PAK-FA? Are U sure it's on display? Perhaps just a demo flight with no landing at Zhuk?
  6. Gee, that tac-nuke ripped your wings off! LOL!
  7. Yes, yes, I remember Lafayette from Flyboys movie! It's great to have it painted on today's Mirage 2000D. Perhaps M2000D can be integrated to FC and DCS someday thanks to this fact!
  8. Did you guys notice the Indian head artwork on vertical tail? It's pretty similar to the one used by Fighter Collection (if not the same)!
  9. Yeah it's pretty complex, I managed to move it to a Merzifon coordinates (after 50-60 edits) but ILS support is a no go!
  10. Good looking! Keep it up and report updates more often!
  11. You'd be dissapointed with 3GO Flanker :D
  12. I've been looking for more training missions for FC2 and tried download link from training screen but found none... Any ideas are there any at all? :helpsmilie: EDIT: Nevermind I've got it now, I probably had some connection issues!
  13. I think it not comparable, first MErzifon mod was made for FC1.12a and FC1.12a used different LAT/LONG values (IIRC). However, I'll check to be sure but can promise a thing! Thanks!
  14. That's not true... Think of disabling the default FC2.0 AB cone with new combatace's Su-33. It can be done 'cause not every AC in FC has AB enabled (A-10, Su-25(T)). Exhaust nozzles are animated parts of the 3D model and change diameter with AB stage increase. So upon nozzle animation start (when AB comes to life) a 3D model of a new AB can be triggered to protrude from the nozzles. Higher the AB setting - further it protrudes. Same method used as in extending the airbrake. New AB model shows up when triggered by a nozzle animation.
  15. You should really turn it to a FC bird, it looks great!
  16. OK here's another question, With FC1.12 I used this virtual pilot profile for last 2 years in SP, I've been testing skins, 3D models & mods, flight practice etc. so I haven't destroyed many enemy planes and other units during 350 flight hours I've collected since creation of that pilot (since Jan15th, 2009). That's why "He" only progressed to a rank of Polkovnik (it's a Russian pilot). I can easily edit LogBook data in FC2.0 to "import" all flight hours I've collected but how about importing awards and changing ranks?
  17. Yes man! Now I'm getting busy looking for a proper value to place it where I want it!
  18. Not bad at all! Did you animate moving surfaces as well?
  19. Yes it FS-X but AB cone in FC is a 3D model as well so it can be remodeled too!
