  1. This happens to me ever now and then.I have a light above and behind me. I bought a cheap golf visor and clipped the reflectors to it with a plastic tie. (and the wife just shakes her head when i go in for a flight. I tell her she bought me the warthog so what are you gonna do)
  2. I'll give it a shot. I never really noticed the waypoints after the callout and rtb . I turn off automatic waypoints so i don't have to keep putting them back to the one i'm attacking when it goes to the next one and i'm not ready to move on.Need to keep the eyes open i guess. Thanks
  3. Hi All, iwas just wondering how the instant action missions end.I've completed the 2 easy ones and get a rtb from jtacs. Just eactly what base am i supposed to go to? They start in the air and i can never seem to decide if i'm going where i am supposed to. Is it just any friendly base or should i tell the wingman to rtb and follow them?(i actually landed at a base and found my battle riddled wingman with parts of his wing and all tires blown parked and waiting). Saying that i am at the right base, is anything supposed to happen after i shut down? Is there an actual end or do i just quit?
  4. You shouldn't be taking this personally. A lot of online game sites may have a limit to how high your ping can be for certain servers. You are probably not annoying anyone. The servers admin may just have it set up so a high ping automatically gets bumped and banned. As to explaining it to you, well that's up to the server admin.
  5. Thanks StrongHarm, I've used this to practise my gun runs. Lately i've taken to editing the mission to load up on cbus and mavs to practise taking out a rolling column.
  6. Yeah the wingman is a source of frustration for everyone. Just getting through an instant action mission can be a task. I've done everything to get the wingman on target. It's hit or miss whether or not they engage targets.Brodcasting spi sometimes works, being closer sometimes works. I've told them to engage with whatever, and to just engage. Normally now i wait till they report back with targets and then tell them to engage. If I'm lucky they will roll in , if i'm really lucky the won't get shot down doing it.
  7. Hi, Just set up the center and pause for track ir. So i have a free button for something else.Mojo isn't cms push button for electronic cms on or off?
  8. Thanks cub for this, i edited it to use prtscrn and scrlck and it works just fine. (once i remembered to run as administrator).
  9. Hi, I"ve got mine set as center track ir. I'm using the extra one in my radio selector switch as gear up and down, and the extra one on the slew control as pause track ir.
  10. Every now and then you come across a picture that shows just how good the realization of the cockpit in dcs a10c actually is.Love the checklists on the accelerometer and compass.
  11. Depends which military you're talking about i guess. The ones in Irag surrendered in mass when they got dominated.
  12. Just like real life. You can't run forever, and if it's from a stand off weapon like a maverick, its just a guess where it came from, unless you actually have eyes on the plane. If you are lucky you get to hide where they can't see or find you. Being in a tank (or any vehicle)can really suck if your opponent has air superiority and fly around in groups of 2 picking you off one by one. People have been known to abandon their vehicles when the ones around them start blowing up suddenly. It would be nice if the ai actually had them looking for better cover, and I have had them hide next to buildings and in the trees, but that may have been just the area they where in when the first round was on target. If you get too close they will shoot at you also and try to track you.
  13. Hi peter, Actually i did read your instructions.Unzipped the file to its own folder, put the dcs world in the dcs folder on my drive, and then started calibration. I'm guessing it didn't go over the first time.(who knows, maybe my finger slipped when i went to move the files). I just didn't read to the bottom of your read me file where you talk about the new fonts and the new spacing. It's all good now, and i appreciate the work you put into this.
  14. Hi Peter, I didn't realize there was a font and spacing change that had to happen before i ran the calibration tool. When i ran the tool it calibrated to the new size and spacing, which wasn't there. It did work after a fashion but it didn't line up to any of the radio commands. I deleted the calibration settings that were saved, and found the location for the font and command dialog, and cut and pasted the new settings. Then i reran the calibration tool with the new fonts and spacing and all worked well. I guess the only problem was I didn't realize there was going to be a font size and spacing change, and to look for it to be sure the changes had taken effect, before i ran the calibration tool.
  15. Thanks Peter, Had a bit of trouble getting this one to work, only because the font and script didn't change after the copy ,and i didn't realize that hadn't happened.(only realized when i went back over the forums and found a message where you mentioned to someone if the fonts had changed for them) Got a little frustrated because it was calibrating to the new fonts and script that wasn't there. I finally realized the problem and cut and pasted the new fonts and scripts to where they need to be and all is well. (I'm also using your cockpit views with proper neck and i like it). Thanks again for making this sim more pleasurable to fly.
  16. Hi, I kinda wish i had gotten the combat pedals just to have my heels on floor. I find you have to be careful with your feet when the are in the pro pedals. I keep taking them out so i don't inadvertently put inputs in when i don't want to.If they sold an upgrade to take off the pedals for the aluminum ones I'd probably get it as the innards are the same.
  17. Its a tough one. The practice one starts in the clouds with the rain and lightning. If you don't spot the tanker right off with goggles you need to enable tcan to find it. Once you're done, you dial koubileti tower and get a heading to start going back to land. The channel for that tacan is 67x. The ceiling is so low that I overflew the runway by watching the miles run down, keeping an eye on altitude, and circled around and made a horrible bouncing wheel popping landing.(the atc diverts you to runway 25, so you can dial in that heading).
  18. Hi, Feels good don't it? Lets just say i landed 10 feet underneath a runway trying to land in the thunderstorm at night , in the practice mission ,for the night time refueling.:joystick: (H+RSHIFT for nv goggles.you're gonna need them). Good luck, have fun.
  19. Hi, It's a smooth zoom in to full ,and back in as far as it goes, with the center being normal. You can feel when you hit center as it has a stop of sorts.

  21. Just got the warthog and rudder pedals for Christmas. I was using the hotas x,with a lot of modifiers. I was learning, but if you didn't get the button presses right it threw you totally off while you tried to correct it. I've got the side incr and decrease set to zoom, and the extra toggle on the joystick set to pause track ir. I've redid the training missions with the warthog and it's incredible easy to follow along now. I have to say the upgrade was totally worth it for me as it has made the immersion factor much more enjoyable because everything is at hand. (the 2 stage trigger for the 30mm cannon is also good to have)
  22. Wait till you get a thrusmater warthog and rudder pedals. Luckily all my wife said is , "600 dollars of add ons for a "30" dollar game".(and not a divorce).
  23. Its great, Did an air to air refuel and its rock steady.Gonna be fun me thinks.
