I'm not an expert in this area, but I see you fire two missiles in quick succession in the beginning of the engagement. The first remark is, is that you are not using the best missile for the job. The Slammer C has better tracking capability and range then the B-model. Further more you should leave a bit of time between your shots. By the time the bandit outmanoeuvers the first one, he will have bled considerable amounts of energy, so the second missile will be able to counter his moves more easily. In your track he was able to outfly your two missiles with one maneouvre. The fact that you launched at almost 50 km, means that your missile will have depleated a lot of its maneouvering energy by the time it gets to the target. From the 3600km/h it started out with, it had only approx 1500 km.h left near the target. In fact he only needs an easy 2.7G dive and turn to outturn them. If yoursecond missile would've arrived there say 10 seconds later, he would've still been busy outflying the first missile, and the second missile would have had time to anticipate his moves and fly a different intercept. You then fire a Slammer C that looks like it didn't track on anything (aka Maddog) About 35 seconds after you launch your first two missiles he shoots his first R-24R to put you on the defense. Fortunately he starts going defensive himself and looses lock on you, so he can't guide his missile towards you and the missile doesn't track you. After he defeas your shots, the distance between you has shrunk to a mere 24km. He now is lower then you ans so has the advantage to use his radar looking-up, which makes searching, locking and trackin a lot easier for him. In just 30 seconds he closes to 13 km, on you 11 o'clock. Your probably looking for the splash then and he 's probably not on your radar. He should still be on your rwr though. So now he's real close, burning through your jammer, in a perfect position and he fires. You bank right, but you bank right too far, and move him from 30° left to 120° left. You must try and put him on 90°, and go into a steep dive. You will know if his lock breaks when his 23-symbol drops off the rwr. That's my view of things. I'm sure there's much more capable A-to-A-pilots around to put my wrongs right, and add some more pointers. So, try again and fire two Slammer C's with 5 to 10 seconds interval and then put the bogey on the radar's gimbals. That means : turn away from the bogey just far enough that his radarsymbol is near the edge of your radarscreen. That way you support your outgoing missile(s) and keep the closure-rate limited.

Are you looking in the righ place for the acmi ? http://lomac.strasoftware.com/tacview-en.php Mine are stored in the tempfolder, where the trackfiles are stored. If you've got W7 or Vista, it might be saved in the virtualstore.

Please read my last post again, as I've edited it while you already replied to it. You'll only get an acmi file oafter you've installed tacview.

Range of that is about 50km, so spotting the lauch is impossible. Were you jamming during this engagement ? Any idea of how close he was when he fired ? You must've seen his radar in the rwr for sure, It is a SARH-missile so the MIG must support it with a lock on your aircraft until it can go autonomous. So you will only get a lock indication from the MIG, and probably will not get a launch warning from the rwr. As soon as the missile is close enough to you it goes autonomous and starts tracking you with it's onboard radar. Probably an "M"-symbol will appear on your rwr. Try to deny the MIG a lock onto you. Real pilots don't always know what the opposing planes are carrying weaponswise, but judging from the rwr-aircraft symbol they will implement a worst case scenario, and they will try and lure him into wasting his missiles in low PoK-shots. And then hunt him down. So here again : knowing your enemy (how many of those R-24's can a MIG23 carry ?) will give you an advantage.

What do you mean ? Stutters ? I rarely see stutters. Only when firing the first missile in a mission I see a small stutter. I guess it takes a little time to load the sound-effect for the launch. Also when new elements spawn in a mission it stutters a little. No big deal however. To tackle this, you need to post your hardware specs and the FC2-graphics settings. Also make sure you have the latest graphics-drivers installed.

Shack, what type of missile did he use ? I have yet to spot my first incoming missile. I never see one coming, especially not a BVR-one. Some missiles indeed do not show on rwr, like IR-guided missiles. So, analyse the results you get shown after each flight, and see what it is that hit you. Better yet, install tacview and get a very good situational 3D-overview of the battlefield, and the battle you're in. First rule in BVR is : fire first, so the enemy goes defensive to defeat your missile. While he's doing his defensive moves, you can sneek closer to him and finish him off. That means you need to be high and fast to give you first missile that extra punch and reach. If you can't beat him to the first shot, turn and run like hell. BTW, what aircraft are you flying in this engagement ? Posting the track might help.

Normal I think. I see the same thing here.
-
Huh ? Each modifier has L or R as a prefix in the pdf's in the doc-folder.
-
Problem solved. Was taking of from Nalchick, which has an elevation of 430 meters. Needed to set altimeter pressure to 430 m before take-off and everything worked advertised.

Hi, I'm trying the stock mission where you have to attack a couple of command-posts with tv-guided bombs. So, since it's quite an uneventfull and long flight into the target area, I switch on route-following mode. The airplane then moves to intercept the preplanned flight plan but never reaches the assigned altitude. It always stays 400 meters below the assigned altitude that is in the top right hand corner of the HUD. After I pass a steerpoint and a new assigned steerpoint is announced in the HUD, the airplane will start climbing, but again lebvels off 400 meters too low. What am I missing here ?
-
Mmmm, go look in your install-folder, in the doc-subfolder. All key-command-files are in pdf-format there.
-
That's weird. Radar on/off is the same command for all aircraft. Not sure what's the matter there.
-
Just to clear things up : the F-15 is working for you now, yes ? Please describe precisely what troubles you are still having with the SU's and the MIG.
-
Mmmm, keep the button pressed for a second or two ?
-
I see you're from Italy. I assume you don't have a US-layout keyboard then. That means that you have to press different keys to achieve the same result. Keys A to Z should be no problem, but other keys might be a problem. I don't have an Italian keyboard, so I can't look it up for you. Try pressing the two keys between "BACKSPACE" and 0, or the non-afphabetic keys left of "RETURN", or the non-alphabetic keys left of "RIGHT-SHIFT" Also, to change the F-15 radar range you need to press "=" (display zoom in) or "-" (diplay zoom out) on a US-keyboard. What else is not working ?
-
Yes, Teamspeak, like how it is implemented in IVAO, is great.
-
Mmm, do other keypresses, like F2, F3 work, or does absolutely nothing from the keyboard work ? How about escape, does that work ? You haven't accidentely wiped your key-assignements in the options, have you ?
-
That looks nice. Would installing this prohibit me in joining multiplayer games, like for example the 104th ? Does it need to be installed through Modman ?
-
Hi, has anyone tried to see if Teka Teka's English cockpit for SU25T works in FC2 ? Thanks

You are wrong : LO 1.0 will work with TIR5. There are known problems with LO1.0 that after you've been in your LO-options, TIR no longer connects to LO. You'll need to erase 2 files. On the camera issue : what type of monitor are you using : CRT or flat ? My camera faces down also. Just make sure you're not sitting to close to the camera, and point it so that it captures clip. The camera comes equiped with a nice support that fits either type of screen really, even on a laptop.
-
I have to support the guys that are urging you to do use the TIR. Spend some time with it, and learn to use and understand it. So many people can use it, so it must work, and it brings very much realism into your flying. Not to mention, that it brings you those very valuable seconds that decide between virtual life and death. I'd like to see you do a scissors-fight with your hat. TIR will give you that instinctif feel when looking to the sides, back and up. And your fingers are free to do the more important stuff on your stick and throttle. If your screen is not rock-steady and flips about, that means that some IR-lightsource behind you gets into the view of the TIR-camera and messes the calculations up. Or, it may mean that the camera is not always picking up all of your dots, and therefore can't calculate your head-position. Please check if these conditions are what is bothering you, by looking at the picture of what the TIR actually sees. This is embedded in the TIR-software, but depends on what version you have installed. What version of TIR, TIR-software and clip (single reflective dot, 3-dot-clip, Trackclip-Pro) are you running anyways ? Oh, and on the outside-view subject : real pilots usually do all their flying inside their cockpit. :smilewink:

You're not trying to run one of your two programs as administrator, are you ? They both have to run as adminstrator, or they both should not run as administrator.

Shack, you dog you ! You already had the same problem a year ago. Did you get it fixed back then ? http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=40754&highlight=audio+track+replay
-
Shack, the missile evasion video you are talking about, is not a video but a Lomac-trackfile. To watch these, simply save them on your system, fire up Lomac, select "Show replays" or "Show tracks", and point the system to the trackfile you want to see. Be aware : track-files from patch-levels do not mix, so for the missile evasion track you need to have a Lomac 1.01-install (this is mentioned for every single downloadable file on flankertraining, but I see most tutorials are now converted into a video-format which can be played through mediaplayer). You can check your install version on the main-menu page.

Are you sure that with your cursor (TDC) set at 20 miles and the radar scanning the correct altitudes there, and the aircraft are there ? What type of aircraft are you trying to find ? They are not beaming you ?
