  1. How about TARS ?
  2. In my book : no TS=no immersion=no fun because everyone is lone-wolfing It's as vital as having TrackIr.
  3. Try the 74th. It's locked, but the pw is on the TS-welcome screen. So, no TS, no joining. Feel free to pay us a visit, you're always welcome. Check out the mission-briefings on our forum.
  4. Only available though CM I think. Bloody hell : the HOTAS -functions on a single level are complicated enough, without having to think what was where on a different level.
  5. If ED's business model would be what you want it to be, we'd have to pay 5 times as much for BS as what we did. This is not some "narrow" programming like first person shooters or console-content. What you ask is not economically survivable for a 40 or 50$ simulator. They can't afford to have no income for a couple of years, while a small army of programmers need to be paid to iron out all the little bugs. And you're wrong about getting the BS-update for free. I don't see no free updates of f.e. Call of Duty series, MSFS. Every new version is to be paid, in full. Look at FS9 : it got one patch, that was it. Then they went to work on FSX for a couple of years, which you had to pay almost twice as much as BS. And the winds (and some other stuff) are still broken in that one. And MS is a giant company, compared to ED. I'm not seeing any real showstoppers in BS as it is. True, there are some details that need attention, but that's what they are to me : details. You're getting a free "upgrade" for BS, and still you're not happy. I rather see ED do their business as they do, and bring us a new ac from time to time and upgrade the older stuff too. Because.....what alternative do we have ?
  6. Maybe there's a solution in this thread : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=68779
  7. Come have a look at the 74th. TS3-server available. http://www.74thvirtual.co.uk
  8. Your F7-key is not working because the track-ir is intercepting that keypress and doesn't let it get through to the sim. I think you need to uncheck the trap-checkbox for F7 in your profile in the TrackIr-software. For landings : same as for everything else : practice, practice, practice. What problem exactly are you having ?
  9. Is the TIR-unit still detecting your 3 LED's properly when you move your head in that position? Your mic-boom, your head, or even the position of your clip may prevent your TIR-unit to see three distinctive IR-sources, and then the tracking stops. Please check this in the TIR-software in camera view.
  10. The going crazy happens when : -one of your reflective dots is no longer picked up by the TIR-unit when you move your head. -another IR-source (light, reflection, lamp, sun...) behind you periodically pops into vieuw of the TIR-unit. You can check the position of the dots in the tracking-window. Make sure the TIR-unit picks up the dots, even if you move your head to extreme positions.
  11. Hehehe, no wonder : the original poster was looking :music_whistling::harhar:
  12. Mower, is that one of Goose's gurlz ?
  13. Bonedust, have you tried this ? http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1084420&postcount=8 Worked for me. It's 32bit OS-thing apparently - something with the memory.
  14. And how do you suggest it should be improved ? The only good way to go MP with these sims, is squadron-style. These sims are NOT first person shooters. Good comms and good teamwork are the only way to go. We're after realism, not spawn-fly-die and repeat that endlessly. The objective is to fly out as a team, destroy the target as a team and return home as a team. And you need comms for that. Most people on the few public servers that are left are there doing the lone wolf thing without any comms with the other pilots on the server. This has never and will not ever work. And squadron-style does not mean military-style. Just hook up with a group of like-minded pilots. Do training together. Get to know eachother. Use the voice comms. It also makes the learning curve much less steep, as you will be teaching eachother stuff. But it's hard, because it will take commitment from the whole group. And yes, it will be boring. Some pilot described it as : "Flying is hours of boredom, punctuated by moments of stark terror." and the goal is always to survive to fight the next day. ED created multiplayer. It is up to us to use it wisely and to the best effects. It is what you make it to be.
  15. Pedro, log in once to be able to see which serves are online. Next time the window pops up just hit cancel and it will stop popping up.
  16. WTF ?:D Another 74th Tiger squadron, an also UK based. When were you guys born ?
  17. That's a rather crappy statement to put up here, especially if your not posting up your sytem specs and in-game settings along with it.
  18. Don't know the details about it, but maybe the "game"-mode (opposed to the hardcore "sim"-mode) might fit you more.
  19. Does anyone know if the HDR-settings puts any extra load on the cpu, or does the gpu handle that completely. When I tried beta3 last night, HDR was on by default, and it really brought my (aging) system to its knees. Switching HDR off gave me my high-20's fps back. But I saw HDR gave the sim an awesome look. So if HDR is a pure gpu-thing I might upgrade the gpu. Looking into to getting the cpu up to 3.6GHz.
  20. You guys did buy the beta, right ? If you bought it, you should have gotten access to the beta-forum as well.
  21. You need to switch on the external fuel pumps because the internal fuel tanks are only partly filled. And make sure anti-ice is on too.
  22. From the manual : There are two types of markpoints: an overhead mark and an offset mark. An overhead mark records the current aircraft position while an offset mark records the coordinates and elevation of a point identified by a sensor like the targeting pod. And : 11. MK Button. The MK pushbutton commands creation of an overhead markpoint or overhead update. That's the MK-button on the CDU. No guarantees, only what is in the manual.
  23. Looks like a bad download. Best to start all over I'm afraid. The good thing is that the first rush on the servers is over, so you should get it downloaded much faster now than yesterday.
  24. Try and rename the file by deleting the "(2)" from the filename. Looks to me like you downloaded the setup.exe twice and windows automatically added the "(2)" to the filename.
  25. Well, are the 3 .bin -files in the same folder as the setup.exe ? If so, how big are they ? setup1.bin should be 1,951,352 kB setup2.bin should be 1,953,125 kB setup3.bin should be 601,357kB
