  1. T, you forgot to mention the excellent museum collection. Never seen anything like it. The flightline and flying display were superb. And it's always good to put faces to the names and voices we know from the forums/teamspeak, and meet up with people. Very pleased to meet my WC, Zax, Jim Mack and the very elegant and always helpfull Dorris, Virtual Red Arrows (we're not worthy, we're not worthy), Eddie, and of course Dimitri. Thank you all.
  2. Thanks to the 159th, 44th and STP for joining this event.
  3. Thanks for reposting. Great stuff  What HOTAS are you using ?
  4. Same here. Please post again without music.
  5. God, not again. (can't find the beating-the-dead-horse smiley)
  6. Good post Laud. I think we (the 74th) are on the same page here as you. Open Newbie-training is very exhausting and burns you out real quick. We already offer newbie training through the ATO on set timings with intervals to make sure that we recuperate and not burn out. But, like you, we would offer our server to run public missions in a rotationschedule. Bengo
  7. A locked server does NOT mean you're not welcome. It means you need to take the effort to look up the teamspeak information in the mission description, presented in the lower section of the serverlistscreen or on the squadron website/forum. Then log on to TS, read the briefing and come fly with us. Simple. If you want to fly freestyle, create your own server in the list and invite likeminded people in, passworded or non-passworded, I'll leave that up to.you.
  8. What other options are there ? Does a "normal" cooler cut it ? What are you using ?
  9. Fortunately that all is already on SATA-standard.
  10. Thanks for the feedback, EtherealN. PSU is an XFX 750W.
  11. Okay guys, I'm in for an upgrade of my 3,5 year-old sytem. I've got following items on my list. I'm sure there are faster items on the market, but I'm already overbudget a little, and I'm not looking for the "latest and greatest", just a good stabil system to run DCS for the next few years. As I'm not a hardcore hardware follower, please point out any big mistakes that I might be facing when using following parts : The 5870 from current sytem gets recycled. -I7 2600K -Asus P8P67pro -8GB Corsair DDR3 Vengeance -Corsair H70 cooling -OCZ agility 3 120GB SSD Thanks
  12. Try offering him something that he hasn't already got.:pilotfly: But indeed : a great set of tools to build your skills upon. Thanks Tyger.
  13. Of course, all those who are complaining about passworded servers can always start their own un-passworded server.
  14. Well said Boomer. We, at the 74th, have our TS-information on our site. Opening up a server without a password is a guarantee for having lonewolves and teamkillers flooding the airspace. Forget about tactics or achieving mission-goals. It's no fun being shot down by some console-kid after flying for an hour or 2 and trying to nurse your wounded bird back to base for some repairs.
  15. Why don't these servers post the gameserver-password in the TS-chatwindow upon connecting to the TS-server as a welcome message ? If you do the effort to connect to teamspeak you could(should?) be rewarded with the password to the gameserver.
  16. Hehehe Jim : wish-lists : that's a euphemism for "demands", right ?:D Oh, and LOTATC, does that work with DSC (BS and A-10-C) ?
  17. Nice write up there Joe. Sounds like it was a lot of fun. I was there in the two previous LLTM's, but in the Falcon-section. Always wanted to check out the FC/DCS-section, but never got around to it, as the schedule is pretty tight and doesn't leave much room to go roam around. Looks like FC/DCS-section has a lot of diversity in mission-types, and Woodstock is an excellent section-leader.
  18. Hey Riz, it's the SA-11. The trick is to find the radar first. Then dive down in the weeds and preoceed towards him, not directly, but keep him at you 1 o'clock. When you're in Mav-range pop up and launch, immediatmy break left and dive in th weeds again, to seek protection from terrain. See you on the server mate.
  19. Hey Rossi, be sure to check our operation out : http://www.74thvirtual.co.uk/index.php
  20. Okay, I think you need to adjust your yaw in your TIR-profile. And you should post in the correct forum.:pilotfly:
  21. Faulty/loose USB-plugs ? Had that happen to me once : if I wiggled the plug it would disconnect. Other possibility : static electricity. I sometimes need to "ground" my MS Sidewinder Wheel so windows recognizes it again. I simply stick a paperclip in the USB connector, so all conductors touch the paperclip, and then touch a grounded objext (f.e. central heating radiator) with the paperclp . After that it starts to work again. Go figure.
  22. Good point. To start troubleshooting properly, we need system specs and in-game settings.
  23. Never had any problems with the Track Clip Pro, or with the TIR-unit itself. Keeps going strong for several years now. I hope they do not switch to wireless, as the batteries of wireless mice and keyboards always seem to run out when you need them most. If it is breaking at the joints, then you're doing something to it it is not designed to undergo. What causes the breaking ?
  24. Belgian F-16's attacking an airfield, destroying a bomber and a hangar. http://www.deredactie.be/permalink/1.992770 Actual footage starts at 00:30. You actually see where the GBU entered the roof of the hangar.
