Plane going bazerk with Logitech G940
bengo replied to Pilotasso's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
There's a little utility called StickTest to see if or what keypresses get generated. I use it all the time to see if my CH- and Touchbuddy-profiles send out correct keypress-sequences. It not a big file, so if you need it, PM me with your details and I'll send it over. -
Plane going bazerk with Logitech G940
bengo replied to Pilotasso's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Dp you use a profile for your HOTAS ? Looks like a shift-keypress isn't terminated properly. Obviously the keypress shift-down is executed, but one of your keypresses in your profile is missing a keypress shift-up somewhere. By reloading the profile everything is reset and the problem seems to be gone, until you press that button again. Only in MP ? Do you have a push-to-talk key (for Teamspeak or Ventrilo) in your profile ? Maybe that's not programmed properly ? Maybe it's a slider or a turning knob that's not centered properly and keeps pumping out keypresses ? -
New trim & Old trim option - Cant trim either way, help
bengo replied to Quirkitized's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
You guys do recenter your stick after releasing the trim-button, right. Controls are frozen in the new way of trimming until your joystick has been centered. Anyway, says so in the readme, and was the source of my problems. No other problems whatsoever. -
Thanks ED.

Can the format be changed back once the patch is installed ? Kinda silly being stuck with the wrong currency symbol, decimal, date-format....for my language and country. Is it enough to change the "format" each time before launching BS ?

We, at the 74th, were hoping that multiplayer briefing (pictures and text) would be fixed/expanded and that multiplayer debriefing would become available. Just so we know what killed us. ;)

A lot of info in this thread : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=36602

Btaft, I've got the same system as yours, but run BS on Vista32. I use MSI's Dynamic Overclock Tool and that crancks up the CPU to 3.2Mhz. I use DCSMax to lauch BS, so the affinity is set automatically at each launch. If you want to compare properly you need to have testresults of the two systems under the same circumstances. So, tell me what standard BS-mission and what situation you want an FPS-number from and I'll look it up for you. BTW, I'm running 1920x1200 on a 24", and running in windowed mode until the ship-bug gets fixed.

Looks very nice. I think an error slipped into it at 9min24sec : the "Left Forward panel caution lamps" aren't located above and to the right of the vertical velocity indicator, not the altimeter.

TrackIr and pedals are a must, imho. I do my flying on a 24-inch screen, and do all my weapons/navigating stuff (PVI, Abris, datalink, targetting computer...) through a 19" IIyama touchscreen (costed about 500Euro's http://www.iiyama.com/ms_GL/Product/category/5/product/5). The rest of the switch throwing (I've only done one cold start-up until now:music_whistling:) is done by mouse on the 3D-pit on the 24-inch screen. I find taking my hand of the stick to click some button with the mouse, very much unrealistic. The tinkering with the mouse in the 3D-pit while using weapons or just flying is a bit jittery and takes too much time. Not something you need while trying to fly and fight the Shark. Using Vista32.

That's strange Echo : I'm running Vista Home Premium too, with a 8800GT as well, and I've had no problems what so ever. So, this must be a problem this community can solve. But it might take some tinkering and a bit of effort. It's been a long time since a game/sim got launched that worked so well straight out of the box/download.

Did you try to load the same mission each time ? I know there's a problem with loading missions that contain ships. These missions only run in windowed mode. Hope it helps.

Help- Vikhr Seeker Reticle Offset to the Left
bengo replied to bettymoo's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I traced it back to the rudder not being trimmed to its center position. -
Did you check the 'Full screen option' in the BS setup ? It doubled my FPS. BS is not setup as 'Full screen' as default during the install

Question to ED, re. sound errors, screen freezes
bengo replied to splashman's topic in Bugs and Problems
I experienced something similar some time ago, and I was able to cure it by setting the hardware acceleration for my soundcard one notch lower in the DXDIAG-settings. Hope it helps -
Look in your Virtualstore-folder. It's located in C:\users\yourname\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50. They should be in one of the subfolders there. It's a Vista thing. Vista's standard setup doesn't allow files being saved in any of the Program Files-(sub)folders. All these files get dumped in the Virtualstore.

Dang, a typo. It should have been: ....from 'one inner-NDB to the other inner-NDB'

Bumpety bump I too would like to know how to switch from 'one inner-NDB to the other-NDB'

Did a search but still have a TIR problem
bengo replied to FixerOhio's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
That was my problem exactly a few weeks ago. Couldn't get any movement in the thing until I set the correct reflector-type to Pro-Clip in the flight-profile in TIR. -
I think I've seen this as well. I think the spinning was caused by the Shkval pointing too straight down. When I hit the lock button it said 0.9 for distance and I was 400 or 500 meters up. Don't know how I got in that situation, but I guess I didn't establish a perfect hover, and thereby got too close to position Shkval was looking at. Just my 2 Eurocents.

Nec, I was struggling with this problem too. If you click on the flightplan in the briefing map, the track will turn white, and the INU fixpoints will appear in white as well as circles with a number next to it. It's rather difficult too see when they are located at a waypoint. Take a look at the 'Convoy hunt'-mission. You'll see 4 fix points. Nr1 is at waypoint 3 Nr 2 is just left of the trackline between waypoints 4 and 5 Nr3 is at the crossing of the runways a bit left of fix point 2 Nr4 is on a roadcrossing just a bit south of your homebase. Hope this helps.
