  1. Under LockOn/Config folder, open producer.cfg with a notepad. Make sure the line reads: ForceFeedbackEnabled = true; Some 3rd party mods changes this setting.
  2. And it's a bottleneck I can't upgrade. No workaround either.
  3. Use flashget. Or other download managers. It took me around 1 hour from RU server couple weeks ago.
  4. I've never tried Procaff or any other utility. I use simple command line. This command will launch LockOn.exe on second core at high process priority. start /affinity 2 /high LockOn.exe Try that command... either in command prompt or batch file and see if you're experiencing same problem. "/affinity 1" will launch it on first core. You can also use "/abovenormal", or any of the process priority instead of "/high".
  5. My wife is always my bottle neck.
  6. Many people say 30fps is all human eye can see because that's what video is at. Not true for games because unlike video, there's no motion blur. 60fps is generally considered good fps and some people swear things look at lot better at 90fps and 120fps but personally, 30 ~ 50fps is usually good enough for me. And this depends on screen size as well. On larger screens, you can get away with lower fps. Movies for example are 24fps. 1080p high definition are also 24fps.
  7. Select your mouse in controller options and toggle axis switch. Then assign axis 0 for TDS horizontal and axis 1 for TDS vertical. You may need to invert the axis.
  8. Doh! That worked like a charm. Thanks. Altho now I'm not sure what I can use for external view controls.
  9. Is there way to adjust sensitivity of slew command keys? (;.,/) It seems easier on russian but on F15, it's pretty challenging trying to move the cursor over the targets.
  10. Oh I donno, $200 may not be extreme but it aint cheap either. I'll try the candle wax but if there's no workaround to this, I'm returning it. All the glowing lights and programming is nice but I expect $200 stick to perform the most basic function of a flight stick.
  11. I guess this is more for Saitek forum but was wondering what some of your opinion on this HOTAS is. I received the X52 Pro from Amazon yesterday. Spent all night configuring profile and started a test flight. But due to the way spring mechanism work on the flight stick, it seems to get stuck on one position. For example, I'm trying to land and I pulled back on the stick gently and was holding it there. And then when I was trying to drop the nose back down as I touched down, the stick felt like it was locked into that position I was holding for awhile. I put more forward pressure and it suddenly snapped out of that position. Causing me to drop my nose too much. From what I can see, this is because there is a metal plate that's being pushed down from the stick. And keeping pressure against the black ring on the base. This I guess is Saitek's sophisticated centering mechanism. But it seems the spring is too stiff so it's applying too much pressure downward... giving me very sticky control instead of smooth control. It works fine when I'm moving the stick fast enough, but trying to do fine corrections is nearly impossible. What I was wondering is... are everyone else who has this stick experienced this? Does this go away? Or should I return this? Should I put some lubricant between the metal plate and black ring?
  12. Yea, larger fans don't have to spin as fast and so much quieter. I have a case (Thermaltake Armor) with one 250mm and two 120mm fans and its virtually silent. And the airflow design is very well done so I don't even have to use the CPU fan which is one of the noisiest fan. There are some inexpensive cases with 250mm fan nowdays. I was actually thinking of going water cooling to quiet down my system but using larger fan turned out to be better solution. Water cooling might be better for overclocking but I was just looking for quiet system.
  13. Have Saitek X32 which Saitek dropped the support on. But based on what you're saying, you can have customized mapping for each aircraft if you have X45 for example? I thought SST loads one profile for LockOn when you launch it and that same profile is used for all aircrafts. But regardless, I think this feature should be built into the game so any controller can be configured for each aircraft. I mean, there's option to customize buttons for each radar modes, they should be able to do it for each aircraft.
  14. I would like joystick button mapping specific to individual aircrafts. This isn't possible currently right? I think it's waste that a button on my joystick has to be useless when I'm flying russian because I mapped it to "release weapon" on US aircrafts. Plus, aircraft functions are all different and many buttons on my joystick are useless depending on which aircraft I'm flying. Oh, is there list of changes already announced for BS? I should find out what's being added before making a wish. Edit: Doh, this was FC wish list. I thought it was BS wish list.
  15. Gone gold is term used by every game developer. It means the software has been delivered to be put on CD/DVD and packaged. I wouldn't say gond gold means it's finished since they're almost always followed by series of patches. Once it's shipped, they say it's released... or launched. This sometimes gets people confused especially on console patforms because games appear on store shelves couple days after launch date. People expect to buy the games on launch date not considering the shipping time. Oh, and I believe... and it's just my guess... they call it gone gold because it's ready to rake in money.
  16. When AMD was pretty much dominating with their Athlons, many believed that Intel could be in trouble. Kinda like what we're saying about AMD here. As it turns out, they were taking a step back to leap forward it seems. AMD will come back. They have came back... many times before. So did Intel. Healthy competition.
  17. Does it really matter who's winning? Competition is a beautiful thing. More lead change the better.
  18. It seems like it doesn't matter what password you put in for default campaigns to unlock and declassify.
  19. Why is it that when I try what Ironhand did in those videos, my missiles miss almost everytime and never can seem to get a BVR kill. Me being suck is one part I know but could it also have something to do with missiles being changed in FC since Ironhand made those videos? Also, is there way to keep campaigns declassified? Whenever I save it and reload previously declassified campaign, it's classified again with original campaign settings.
  20. He doesn't have RAID... at least he didn't mention it on his post. And if everything works fine but only problem is stutter in games, I doubt the hard drives are damaged. It's most likely graphic card setting.
  21. System fan or CPU fan? If your motherboard has feature that adjusts fan speed according to temperature, then it sounds normal that it runs continuously while running CPU intensive game.
  22. Man, what a coincidence. Been searching google for good sandstorm reference pictures for days because I need it for work and none of'em were as good as these pics. Huge thanks!
  23. Well, since you reinstalled everything, first obvious check is to make sure all your settings are same as before. Graphic driver setting such as Vsync can cause stuttering. Check all your controller, sound, and any other hardware drivers are current. After checking all that, I would try reseating the RAM. Take both your RAM out and simply put them back in. This is basic troubleshooting procedure that often worked for me. I recommend putting the RAM back in reverse order. But if it stutters without fps loss, I'm suspecting it's more simple issue such as Vsync setting. Also, nVidia has newer driver version.
  24. Now with the understanding of rotor RPM (not RC lol) at around 200RPM, it is very possible to take video of the rotors without motion blur with 120fps high speed camera. But that's still too fast for 30fps consumer camera. And you don't have to piece it together frame by frame. Most post production software... even Adobe Premiere will do that for you. However it's done, it certainly does make an interesting subject to talk about.
  25. Again, there's no motion blur in that. I work in video post production house and well aware of the strobe effect.
