By the way, is there reason for the 8 buttons and 4 lights? I'm sure there is but is that reason modeled in LOMAC?
-
Well... that helps. Thanks everyone.
-
Thanks, I'll look for it when I go home tonight. Armpad? A10 had an armpad?
-
Does it have one? When I toggle ecm in A10, I see nothing being changed inside the cockpit. And can't find it in the manual either. How do I tell if ecm is on or not?

Leaked Falcon 4.0 code has worked for that community because there was no further OFFICIAL development. The community kept it alive. But I would've much prefer if Microprose was still alive and continued to develop an official version. I would really hate for LockOn community to become like F4 community. All different versions and dances... As long as official development continues, I like it the way it is.

OT- 1990s TV show about cutting edge flight sims :)

FalconAT actually was when I started playing. Ah brings back memories... -
Well I tried singing South Korean lyrics on North Korean music. Doesn't match. Anyways, good find.
-
Well, those are correct anthems for both countries but they're not same tunes. They seem the same to you guys? The Wikipedia actually says north Korea adopted new song in 1947.
-
I'm Korean... south. Can you put it up somewhere? I'll listen to it and at least tell you if it's south korean or not. But I'm 100% sure they don't use same anthem.

Yea, radio communication is different from radio assist. Radio assist option gives you those annoying cockpit sounds like "SHOOT, SHOOT, SHOOT". As far as I know there's no option to turn off normal radio communication with towers and wingmen. If you're not getting that, then there's something wrong with your install. By the way, you still get "you're on glideslope" message from tower even with radio assist off. That seems normal tower radio message. And controls changing... that's something I've never heard before. It shouldn't be doing that regardless of whether mission is classified or not.

I was curious about USB headsets. It doesn't use the sound card is that right? How is the codec and all that handled then? By the headset itself? By the way... rumble in the headset? Not recommended for someone with dandruff problems I guess :p

Which new sims are coming out soon?

Quad core maybe not a waste for gaming
Ven replied to Pilotasso's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
So doesn't that mean quad core is... for lack of better word... waste? -
Have you checked flankertraining.com? Haven't seen Stealth but if that maneuver is what I'm thinking, I believe it's possible. If you simply roll, you'll roll in your own plane's axis. But if you roll and turn slightly into and above your friend's path, you'll roll upside down above your friend. Then roll back down to the other side of your friend.

All cores indicate some sort of usage even running single threaded apps. But I think the question is... is it really more efficient when tasks are divided between cores on single threaded apps. Try running LOMAC on all 4 cores and note the frame rate. Then try running it on single core and see what the difference is. I'm interested in that result. -
OT-Self-acharging electrical devices?
Ven replied to Force_Feedback's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This may not be the case but most devices such as cell phones and mp3 players give two different battery readings for standby mode and usage mode. When I use my cell phone and hang up, it gives me 2/4 bars... indicating how much battery is left if I keep yapping on the phone. Then after few minutes, it goes up to 3/4 bars indicating how much standby time is left. It may be this or you might've stumbled upon the elusive cold fusion! -
I'm embarrassed to say I use labels on ground units. I use TekaTeka's mod I believe that changes the font to dots. I turn off names on ground labels and changed the color to less obvious than red so I still have to look for them.

I believe options are stuck to the missions. So the option of the person who created mission is what you get. To change it, you have to classify (ctrl+c), specify a password. Then declassify (ctrl+d) and enter same password. Then you can use your own option setting. By the way, I really hope this gets fixed with patch or BS. It's not huge problem but still annoying classifying and declassifying all the time.

Someone please help, installation doesn't work!
Ven replied to waterinthefuel's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Not gonna mention specific sources but since you have proof of purchase, my guess is that ED wont mind if you resort to illegal sources for downloading since they can't provide stable download. -
If I wanted to install LOMAC:FC on my second machine so I can play with my son on LAN, do I need to purchase another version of LOMAC and FC? I would understand needing to buy second license if playing on internet but it would be hard to swallow if I have to do that for LAN.

Then why is it that the max/min indicator constantly changes based on my speed? Perhaps the missile don't go faster but burns longer when launched at higher speed?

Planning my new badass machine.

Wow, that's mighty high CPU score. My E6600 dual core isn't even half that score. Wonder what you would get with little overclocking. I was surprised how well intel CPU's overclock. I changed nothing to my cooling... not even faster fan speed and still using OEM CPU fan, and I was able to overclock to 2.62GHz (from 2.4) with no change in temperature. With all that CPU horsepower, you're probably seeing slow fps in some areas of LOMAC because it's not multi-threaded... but you knew that already right? Try overclocking it after you gave it a good burn-in. That should improve fps somewhat. My OC'ed system has 10400 3DMark score. Lower CPU score than yours but faster graphics thanks to 8800GTX. -
Any one know where to download DirectX10?
Ven replied to Red Hammer's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
your graphic card needs to support DX10 as well ie: GeForce 8800
