  1. v3.2 released and somewhat tested, with slots for more flyables (read: ones I don't own), a new low-intensity option for the airfield range, and the start of a COIN range. Next up is probably BVR range revamp, because I'll want to be able to spawn easy stuff for the MiG-21, when I get that. :P
  2. Figure ~$5,000 to fill up the tank, given current jet fuel prices in the Dallas area. And I don't even want to know what an A&P with MiG-21 qualifications charges per hour. :P
  3. I said to myself, "Maybe I'll get it to ring in EDGE." Nope. Not gonna wait that long. <.<
  4. Sure thing! Once the MiG-21 comes out, I'm going to reshuffle it a bit, moving the fast movers to Senaki to free up more room for the ground attackers and the WWII/Korean stuff at Kobuleti. I also hope to add JTAC to the airfield range and possibly the northern range. Eventually, I also want to add a COIN range, with primarily infantry and light vehicles in and around towns, and a moving-target range, with convoys that transit between two locations, but those are slightly longer-term plans, especially since I'm going to be digging my teeth into the MiG-21.
  5. The Ka-50 is my favorite DCS platform by a long shot. Start with the Huey, though—that's rotorcraft 101, and after flying the Huey, you'll realize how much of the pilot workload the Ka-50 takes on for you. Also, the Ka-50's voice warning system is Kvetching Katya, I've decided. :P
  6. The buttons on the left side of the PVI-800 select the type of point (WPT, NAV TGT, AF (for airfield), and fix points you don't need), and the numbers reference points of the selected type. To select nav target point one, you select NAV TGT, then press the 1 button.
  7. I just gave it a try, and I wasn't able to reproduce it. Here were my steps: 1. Get into Su-27 on the ramp 2. Spawn one Phantom 3. Get into warm Ka-50 4. Menus present and functional I did discover a menu bug, and I also finally changed the Ka-50 skins to something a little less parade ground.
  8. I have two brake settings, usually: parking brake and off. :P
  9. Once you have ground speed or the under-50-kmh velocity vector in the HUD, you're good to go for auto hover.
  10. Huh. I just fired it up and couldn't reproduce it by just switching flyables. I'll try the Su-27->bandits->Ka-50 sequence when I'm done with work today.
  11. I can't say I know, offhand—I haven't run it at all in 1.2.10 besides to verify that it loads. I'm pretty sure it still worked in 1.2.9, but I could be misremembering. I haven't had a ton of cockpit time lately.
  12. During an extremely boring meeting working from home, I finally got around to switching the main coalition. I'm not altogether sure everything will work, but the mission loads correctly, so there's that, at least. No JTAC yet, but it's a lot easier to stick one in now if you want it.
  13. There's a known crash in the A-10A right now—the game dies when its RWR picks up a signal, apparently. I ran into that on Friday night.
  14. I shot down my buddy's Flanker the other night, but he was low and slow and consented to a turn fight, so that's kind of the expected result.
  15. Dynamically-spawned units don't show up on the F10 map for clients, unless that's been fixed. (They also see the destruction messages as 'Player destroyed Building' instead of the vehicle name.)
  16. There are two basic save/send mechanisms in the datalink: 1. With a Shkval/other target point. With the datalink system cleared/reset, select a target type and destination, then do send/mem. 2. With no target points selected, and the Shkval off. Pick the target with the type buttons, select a destination, then do send/mem. That's my understanding as of a few months ago, when I was teaching a buddy how to fly the Ka-50.
  17. Checked: after you release the trimmer, controls are locked until you return your controls to center. Unchecked: after you release the trimmer, controls are locked for one second.
  18. Either that, or it's just a generic term for 'guided missile'. Swedish SAMs and some ATGMs are designated 'RBS' for 'Robotsystem'. In other news, as a big Gripen fan, it puts a smile on my face to read a tale of one of them whupping a pair of Tiffys, even if the engagement was weighted in its favor a little. <.<
  19. It might also be wind: a crosswind can push the Vikhr out of the guidance cone. Try attacking from all four directions to see if that's it.
  20. You may be in center-position trim mode. You need to return your controls to their center points before you can make additional changes. If you aren't in center-position mode, your controls are locked for one second to give you time to return them to the center.
  21. Maybe try RESET then ENTER? I don't know offhand, either—I don't normally delete things like that. For what it's worth, you can use the waypoint reordering functionality to switch routes around and leave out waypoints, but that's not altogether what you want. For decluttering target points, you could probably cheat by entering all zeroes for the coordinates, if deleting doesn't work.
  22. PVI mode knot to EDIT, push the waypoint button and the number, then RESET, then return the knob to OPER.
  23. Maybe a silly question, but how are you verifying that it's off? The default power-on state has no waypoint or mode selected, so all the lights and displays will be off.
  24. I actually like the Ka-50's standard loadout (12 Vikhrs, two rocket pods) better than the Apache loadout options (8 Hellfires+rockets, or 16 Hellfires), from a versatility standpoint.
