  1. We are working on a solution for IC that will please everyone (except cheaters, I hope) ;)
  2. Have you read the description? It is the MS runtime installer issue. If one of the windows updates is not installed, their runtime installer silently skips a part of the installation process and there's no sane way to detect it. I'm glad it helped you.
  3. just in case, take a look at https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3181896&postcount=3
  4. Please, no conspiracy theories :D It is accomplished with the tech which is already in place, so it was not much work to do. However, it seems we underestimated the popularity of texture mods.
  5. Probably. We're discussing the issue. bin\DCS_updater.exe cleanup will do this for you.
  6. Still, I agree that there should be a method of white-listing user mods for use on servers.
  7. Heh. NOT TRUE. NOT TRUE. NOT TRUE. Nothing in the IC blocks anything.
  8. This is not true. IC does check if the game is vanilla or not. That's it.
  9. Just FYI, DCS_updater.exe update 1.5.6 will do exactly the same - move to the latest of 1.5.6.x versions.
  10. FYI: DCS currently does support IPv6 except for the master server. In order to play over IPv6-internet you have to create non-public server and connect by IP (or a domain name, if you have one). If you play over LAN, most probably you already use IPv6 ;)
  11. That's because MS runtime installers asked for a restart.
  12. Something is wrong with your system.
  13. That's not good at all, I agree. We'll check the situation. Hmm, "malicious site warnings" when doing an update?
  14. https://www.google.ru/search?q=isp+throttling+torrent
  15. https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa365006(v=vs.85).aspx Quote: A hard link is the file system representation of a file by which more than one path references a single file in the same volume.
  16. Most probably your ISP throttles torrent traffic. Try using HTTP (cancel the torrenting, it will ask to try HTTP).
  17. unless you installed DCS into FAT32 which can't do hardlinks. What if the download process fails? You want to be left with a non-working game?
  18. No. It unpacks and then hardlinks. Nothing is transferred twice. That's why _downloads is inside the install folder - to be on the same disk.
  19. Files from _downloads are not copied after unpacking, but hardlinked. So it is optimized already.
  20. 4GB is the file size limit. (EDIT: sounds like Yoda-speak) Oh, yes. I understand you!
  21. Yep, you'd better do. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha
  22. Don't you, by chance, using FAT32 on the installation disk? Seem like the updater can't write a file bigger than 4GB to the install location. And that annoying file is around 6GB.
  23. Can you please provide the autoupdate_log.txt from the game install dir?
