I would be up for 2. One for the Warthog grip and one for the Hornet grip. You take PayPal?
-
That would depend on how high the chair can go.

Components consist of matter.
-
I was not referring to just the handle material density alone, but overall including better switches which is where the price would jump significantly given the number of switches. Regardless, I don't think the current material density itself is really a big issue when actually mounted and I personally haven't had any misclicks on the switches.
-
For this grip to have better quality materials, it would cost twice as much if not more. I would be up for a "prime" version of it, but this is niche hardware of niche hardware and Virpil actually wants to make money, so they made the right call.

My understanding is Jabbers utilized the firmware/software update released last week. Not sure if an even newer one was released this week.
-
According to Jabbers on Discord, still no force trim and still issues with axis and certain button functions on Virpil grips. Eek.
-
I would say it's a safe bet for the FFB base given the number of holes it has.
-
Fortunately, either bolts or wood screws can be used for that base. I sure as Hell would not be using suction cups! I wouldn't even do that for a non-FFB device!
-
Supposedly their latest software update from last week adds individual profiles and resolves the axis/button compatibility issues on at least some Virpil grips. Hopefully there will be an updated YouTube video soon by Jabbers or some other also competent reviewer.
-
Do you really have to connect the FFBeast to an external base like the Virpil base for functionality with that platform or am I misunderstanding?

I'm thinking about getting the Moza as a temp solution until Virpil releases their FFB, which my guess is 4th quarter of next year. I'm covered for the F-16 with the RealSimulator Ultra base and will have 100% compatibility with the Thrustmaster A-10 and F-18 grips. The Virpil WarBRD grip is simple so shouldn't be an issue so that would cover the Phantom and Sabre. So under the assumption that Moza can't address the analog axis for triggers, hats, and the F-14 DLC on the Virpil grips, I will use the VKB Ultimate grip with adapter and also purchase the VKB F-14 grip and get an adapter well. I use the two Virpil Alpha primes in a dual stick config, so them not being 100% compatible on the Moza base is not of consequence, since I wouldn't be using those there anyway. I am confident that Moza will implement individual forced feedback profiles as that aspect is easy to do. That's something they should have already implemented, but alas. With that said, the product isn't officially released yet.

Thanks Winger!

Is there a link to the assembly instructions that could be looked at ahead of time? Thanks in advance.

Recommend a head tracker that does not need to be worn, called: Aimxy Z

TrackIR was discontinued? I know they only provide game profile updates anymore and only 1 this year so far, but I haven't seen anything about the product being discontinued despite it's age.- 21 replies

It was a combination of the two actually, but lack of demand was the primary factor. 100% of us may want force feedback, but the overall audience size wasn't large enough. When almost everyone was locked down during the pandemic, people needed to find more/new indoor hobbies and I think that grew the audience size. We'll that along with thw debut of MSFS 2020. I'm just glad it's back and picking up steam between VPForce, Moza, WinWing and probably next year, Virpil. And then VKB in the year 2037.

I just got the Virpil Aces Collection pedals and I thought I was going to have to return it because I wasn't happy at all with the feel of the rudder axis (loose and sloppy regardless of spring and cam combo). I then installed the damper and my rating went from an F grade to an A grade. I view the damper as a must, at least for me. I'm glad it addressed my complaint because I hate having to return things. With the damper in place, I like it better than my MFG Crosswinds. I will continue to use both though just because.

The biggest thing they need to address is having the Virpil grip analog triggers work as analog triggers and not mere buttons. That's a deal breaker. I'm not too concerned about the force feedback hardware capability because the software in terns of options, compatibility, and level of telemetry capability is going to be the real factor in terms of effectiveness. I think they jumped the gun a bit in terms of announcing this and should have waited a bit to be more prepared. I guess they didn't want to miss out on the FS Expo though to generate hype.

I want it more for other older titles, not specifically DCS.
-
I hope this supports DirectX FFB as opposed to relying exclusively on a proprietary API that only works for specific titles. I haven't seen an official word on this, but I get it's early still.
-
"get a proper PSU" Can you please elaborate on that? Like a link to a specific one to purchase? Thanks.
-
The base is shaking like nuts because the mount it was on wasn't very solid. Regardless of that, I'm sure the force strength will be more than adequate.

I asked about their TQ6+, but they also mentioned the Switcho Trim: Both the TQ6+ and Switcho Trims are compatible with a wide range of flight simulators, not just P3D, MSFS, and X-Plane. However, there are a few exceptions to note: For the TQ6+, the REV zone functionality won't be compatible, although this feature is not typically crucial for IL2 and DCS. For the Switcho Trims, the four landing gear lights won't be compatible.
-
Yeah, I was thinking about getting their TQ6+, but wasn't sure if it was proprietary where it would work in P3D, MSFS, and X-Plane, but NOT IL2 and DCS. So it sounds like the Trims is proprietary to the civ sims. Bad decision on their part.
