  1. With todays modern glass cockpits, the front and rear seats of the SR71 seem almost dauntingly complex. also imagine being crammed into either seat wearing a full space suit, might feel kind of claustrophobic. Hats off to the pilots that flew the Black Birds.
  2. Purchased and installed, thank you to all
  3. Sorry posted the last before I saw your posts, thanks for the info I will try it.
  4. If you can buy steam modules for stand alone, then why is steam not letting me do it.
  5. I have it in the STEAM library but I didn't get it from STEAM
  6. So I tried to buy the F-15 and got this message: Your transaction failed because you are trying to buy 'F-15C for DCS World' which requires ownership of 'DCS World'. Please correct the error and try again.
  7. I have had a similar problem, when I go to the modules in DCS World it brings up the log in but won't let me log in.
  8. Nice article, thanks for sharing.
  9. Congratulations, As a father of 2 and a Grandfather (papa) of 1 I understand your elation. Though your time may be limited from now on, it makes the time you do get to fly and fight that much sweeter.
  10. You can never go wrong with an Intel cpu, Intel has always out paced AMD in math speed witch is more important with most flight sims than straight out data processing. The more FLOPS (Floating Operations Points per second) a cpu will perform the better the heavy cpu programs like flight sims or in depth excel spread sheets will perform. aslo, as I stated in another thread. Nvidia cards perform better with Intel cpus and Radeon cards perform better with AMD cpus, this is something I have learned as a 25 year Computer technician. By the way DCS World runs awesome on my machine, if you look at my signature below you can see what equipment I am using to run it on. I get an average of 40 FPS and a max of 50 FPS in DCS World and about the same in FSX running in DX10 mode.
  11. As a computer tech for the last 25 years, Nvidia cards work better with Intel processors and Radeaon cards work better with AMD processors. So if you need a new card, go with the one that matches you CPU.
  12. In case anyone is interested or is not aware, there is an awesome rendition of all three F-35 variants for FSX/P3D by Dino Cattaneo you can download it at the following link. http://indiafoxtecho.blogspot.com/
  13. All new aircraft go through a wringing out and "Bug" fix period. The F-16 had it's share of problems and critics as did the F-4, F-14, P51 C-130 B-52 and most others.
  14. Hers is a link to the video of the first carrier trap of the F-35C
  15. The F-35 with all of it's adds and detractors, is the first step to a new era in air warfare; "Swarm" logic or "Hive" Logic. The ability for multiple air assets to not only share information but to relay data in real time to all members and from all members of the "Swarm". This means that one asset can lock up a target and another fire via that lock. These are simplified example as the system has extensive capabilities. I just wanted to chime in with this info. I have not read through the entire thread so if I am repeating information I apologize. Check out this episode of dogfights it explains what I mean http://youtu.be/Pla2kPYOZw8
  16. Maybe I am asking this in the wrong place, but will 2.0 be an entirely new series? I.E Will we all be buying the modules like A-10C and FC3 again, I sure hope not. Maybe I am just being paranoid.
  17. My thoughts exactly, thanks for the reply. I actually still have almost every flight sim I have ever purchased going back to the DOS 4 days. with some fore sight many years ago I copied what I had on floppy disk to cd's so titles like Comanche Maximum over kill and Microprose F-117, along with MSFS 4.0 and Falcon AT live on in my archive.
  18. Was looking through some stuff the other day and found my original SU 27 and Flanker 2.0 discs, boxes manuals and all. Thinking of installing them and see what Windows 8 pro 64 bit thinks of that.
  19. Nvidia GTX 650 2GB GDDR5 Fully supports Directx 11
  20. I am a 30 year pc tech, and I would recommend a NVidia gtx 650 or higher. NVidia gpu's work better with intel cpu's, and Radeon's work better with amd cpu's.
  21. Great advice, I would search for how to overclock your cpu on your mother board as a start. Most important, baby steps go up in small increments and test each overclock for stability. I use OCCT for torture testing and Core Temp to monitor temps.
  22. I have my Core I3 530 overclocked to 4.3 with 8GB of corsair vengeance running @ 1550Mhz on a GTX 650 with 2GB of GDDR5 and DCS World runs like the wind as does FSX. I agree, overclock that 4770K! Intel cripples it processors you need to overclock to get real performance.
  23. Here is an update, Mad Catz replaced my interconnect cord and now my X52 works. I tried several PS2 cords and none of them worked.
  24. Thanks guys, I have checked the connector and solder joints, as well as the wires and other solder connections and didn't find any issues. Maybe I will replace the PS2 port on the joystick.
