  1. I've made some observations with the pincer command, but still unclear of its usefulness or correct implementation. Sometimes when ordered, -2 will make a slight turn in direction ordered then maintain previous formation (which is useless). Other times -2 will break into the direction and complete the maneuver quite well. Also, when commanded this maneuver -2 will not fire any ordinance. So is this meant to be used as a tactic to confuse the enemy into the merge? Obviously you shouldn't use this BVR. I don't know. I need guidance with using this feature. 2. I understand that, but the player can also dictate if AI will or not follow them, yes? You can either tell them to RTB or stay with the player. Hell, they could even make it for only excellent AI. I think it should be there. Just more icing on the cake, the abilities to give the player options already exist. 3. I can understand that, but if there is a tailwind of over 5 knots in game to try to force ATC to use a runway, it should use the correct runway. Now it’s just being a nuisance for people who use the wx in missions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  4. I built a mission that is a package that has escort flight, SEAD flight, and Strike flight. The escort and strike elements are US, the SEAD is Georgian. There is AWACS coverage for the battlefield. On the Hornet SA page, it does show all US aircraft but it doesn’t show the Georgian flight in my strike package. It should at least show an unknown HAFU from the AWACS host. It’s completely not present. Almost like they are stealth SU-25s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  5. AI Pairs takeoff and landing - new? It would be great if AI would takeoff/land in pair with player from ramp start. Don’t know why they won’t yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  6. I’m seeking a guide or documentation that details the AI wingman commands while in game. I know what the majority of them mean and do, but some involving engagement are vague and hardly used by me, because I don’t know what they do, what to expect, does it work at all, etc. I’ve checked the DCS manual and couldn’t find anything in the TOC. There is plenty detailing the ME commands and options, but nothing for in game and I think for a very good reason. Each aircraft has a different commands list for wingman. My interests are simply to increase my engagement coordination and allow my wingman to live a bit longer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  7. Nellis Approach Lights tied to wind Not sure if related or not, but noticed AI and ATC will always takeoff 3 and land 21. Is this real or a bug? I set winds to favor 21, but still get instructed to takeoff 3. Seems like the traffic/airport ops/lighting at Nellis is completely wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  8. AI Planes (new and updated) No doubt. Did I say for free? I would pay for a pack of assets. Along with the capability to air drop appropriate ground units. DCS: Airborne. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  9. Would be a breath for fresh air if we could get the C-17s, S-3s, B-52, etc to get new models. They look crude and outdated. Also some new models would be nice, like a C-5, C-141, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  10. Sparrow deployment Okay, I've created a practice engagement with a Mig23. Without the automatic switch to PSTT and manually switching to PSTT right after locking, I am able to maintain lock all the way to the merge. No problem at all. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong. Also it seems like the lock can be maintained pretty well even if looking at terrain. I'm completely confused as to why the radar can maintain lock sometimes. Okay, just tested the orientation of bandit below altitude automatic switch to PSTT. Lock lost. Hmm, this is strange. Now I try to manually switch to PSTT it loses lock. Then I reaquire, tell jester to switch to PSTT and it never changes. At least in the jester menu, it doesn't change. Still says switch PSTT. Track provided. 11. Hmm. Okay, I'll practice some more and see what I'm doing wrong. Maybe I need to keep the target above my altitude. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  12. MAV or LGB, we have to choose ! Disregard. I was wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  13. Would the option for Jester to change to PSTT automatically cause my woes with maintaining lock? I noticed that was checked earlier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  14. Sparrow deployment They are coming head on. The repeater screen goes black then the lock is lost. Slightly lower than me. I think it’s in PD-STT? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  15. I don’t know what I ,or J man, is doing wrong. I have Jester lock target before merge STT. Inside 10 miles, Fox 1. Then J man loses lock, missile trashed. Consistent every time. Any advice? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  16. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting wake turbulence in an RJ behind a 737. It’s pretty well modeled. Granted that’s not exactly the same size comparison, but the effects are pretty close. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  17. It seems more difficult to keep the nose up when the DCS F/A-18C touchdown Flaring technique was previously discussed in another thread. Even Lex himself stated that you can flare the landing if desired but be prepared for the idle to still be in flight idle, as NATOPS says. Addendum: I stand corrected. Both Lex and Mover chimed in. 18. Laser bombs with TGP Bingo, me too. The waypoint altitude is affecting the Auto release geometry, even when the waypoint is not selected as a target waypoint. That shouldn’t be happening. That for sure is a bug. Kudos for Nojoe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  19. Been getting this problem for a while now. Before I couldn’t decipher when it would happen, but I think I figured it out. My Track IR 5 disconnects from the game when in the mission planner or mission editor screen. It seems to do it only when I start DCS after booting PC. I have to close DCS then restart DCS. After that, Track IR remains connected for sim inputs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  21. Sorry, but when LTWS is on....zero returns show. LTWS turned off, they appear. I’ve also done a repair to remove any mods that may have been causing an issue. Same result. This is from an air start in the mission and I don’t even touch the MFDs, same result. Caucuses map as well. So if I am at fault, then why does nothing work when I just let it start from the air? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  22. That did seem to do the trick. I knew where the bandits were. With LTWS on, no bricks (contacts) would illuminate. Once I turn off LTWS they show up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  23. I’ve also noticed the mileage may be off as well. I did Phoenix shots at set distances, they were off in the Tacview by 8-9 miles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  24. That greatly helps! That is exactly the type of answers I was looking for. Love the cat, just didn’t get the logic behind the weapon. Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
