Absolutely agree. The thing is, I do that and the end result is still snaking down the catapult being thrown off sideways. The more I think about it, I’m more inclined to think it might be a bug? But the thing that really keeps me from making a bug report, is if I spawn from catapult, it works perfectly every time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I agree, however I’m not familiar with the limits of DCS so I figured the easiest thing to implement would the the present sound sets where nothing needs to be modified. I do realize you could just open the briefing panel to get wind data, but that isn’t really improving the immersion and the ATC system itself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I normally have better success with the hornet. I should’ve mentioned that. But the tomcat seems to drift off the bow at times. I don’t know, I’ve been finding this happens from time to time, and it isn’t because I’m careless or in a hurry. I don’t know, but I really hope this upcoming module will resolve problems like these since we will have boots on the deck to help us. Question is, how far does their help go? Carrier launch/line up This is more of a question directed to the upcoming Super Carrier. Lately, I’ve been having trouble with lining up with the catapults. I will get into position and I think I am lined up perfectly. I press U to connect to the shuttle, and do my final checks. After press Shift U to command the launch. Problem is afterwards I realize I wasn’t perfectly aligned. It seems that with just a slight misalignment either jet (F-14, F-18) the end result is a jet crabbing across the bow with a possible loss of control. My question is, will the Super Carrier minimize or solve this problem? Or is this even avoidable or any technique I am missing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I know the ATC is planned to get a complete makeover, (at this rate will be years from now) but as a stop-gap until then, it would really help if on the tower options to have a “Say winds” or “wind check” option to align with real world ATC. Currently implemented the only way to get winds is during start up (which I’ve never encountered in the real world) or on inbound call one time. Tower should be providing that information for takeoff clearance or being specifically requested from pilot even if the winds are considered calm, the pilot can still get a wind check at ANY time. [NEED TRACK REPLAY]Altimeter setting error I discovered this too just today. HUD seems to always display pressure altitude no matter what setting is set on the analog altimeter. Example: air pressure at 29.53 At spawn, altimeter is already set to 29.92 and reads approx 400’. When set to match 29.53 the analog altimeter moves down to match airport elevation of approx 50’, but the HUD still says 400’. The whole flight the HUD indicated 350’ higher than analog altimeter. Landing HUD declutter I want to copy my thread to show you what I was talking about. And it wasn’t moved to wishlist, it was moved here. Probably from Wags? Again, the constant moving without any communication only adds confusion. ILS declutter https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic?share_fid=74365&share_tid=251278&url=https%3A%2F%2Fforums%2Eeagle%2Eru%2Fshowthread%2Ephp%3Ft%3D251278&share_type=t&link_source=app Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Okay. Then I’m not sure why my bug post was disregarded and sent to the wishlist? If it’s on the actual jet, then it should be on the DCS jet based on their “realism is what we strive for” motto. I don’t understand what is going on at this place sometimes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Now I’m very confused. My understanding after posting the cage/uncage feature not working was correct as is. It was moved out of bug subforum without explanation. So this is something real? Anyways. I guess this is a temporary solution. ED really needs to stop with the phantom thread movement. It adds much confusion and frustration. Especially when it’s stuff WE are reporting. Hey guys. For those who flew the F16 on a previous lifetime, I've discovered the HUD declutter for flying ILS. Switch the DED-FPL-OFF switch on the right panel to FPL. That makes the bank angle scale disappear so you can spot the runway environment better when breaking out of the ceiling. I guess there is no stick input to switch it in real aircraft. Hence why there isn't one for this simulation. Smooth landings. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

Results Okay, I finally was able to see what Vampire was talking about, but it still looks really wrong. I've provided three tracks to show what I am talking about. On all passes, I pickled at runway end/just past threshold. https://www.dropbox.com/s/8gizuzpbsickiz9/f16cciplevel.trk?dl=0 This track, the level track, shows that releasing in CCIP mode gives a delayed release right at burst altitude, which to me doesn't make sense. I did this pass at a pretty good speed and didn't get any different results. Notice the skeets falling in front of where I pickled. Should be doing immediate release cue. https://www.dropbox.com/s/lzdkivdjmdd5lec/f16ccipdive.trk?dl=0 This one, I did a shallow dive at high speed to see if the results would be different. Still a delayed release. Almost same result except you can see where I dipped lower than the BA and some skeets fell closer to ground in the middle. Pretty cool. But still should be doing an immediate release cue. https://www.dropbox.com/s/t3fzrtms3z0a4lo/f16ccipsteepdive.trk?dl=0 Lastly, I did a steep dive. I did get the immediate release cue, but it was setting myself for a date with a runway impact, so I had to pull out early. I don't know. Does an immediate release usually not happen in the F16 with CBUs? I'm not able to see how this is right.
-
Hmm, okay. So in other words, I was going too slow for the geometry to show an immediate release? I didn't think I was going that slow. I'll try it again. Thanks. How close were you? Because if its overhead, then yes that makes sense because you were at the BA..... OOOH, okay! I think I get it. Let me experiment again.
-
1)How steep are you diving? 2)Huh? It shouldn't be behaving like high drag until the burst height when the canister separates. I'm not saying the profile for release is wrong, (obviously since its been proven by many successful kills) but it should calculate to no delay when reaching a particular height and angle, which I've yet to see it since the update.

I noticed the BA has been increased to a better altitude for employment, but also noticed the release cues have slightly changed as well. Not sure if this was intentional or a bug later to be fixed. The change I noticed is the delayed release cue, dash line on bomb fall line, is always presented when CBU-97s are selected for drop. I've provided a track that demonstrates this behavior. When selected to dumb iron bombs, mk-82s, the CCIP HUD cue does change correctly when closing in to ground for immediate release, dash not present. Again, not really sure if intentional or not. Just noticed this wasn't the case before the update dated as above. https://www.dropbox.com/s/kpo43a8sz4nwf1q/f16ccip.trk?dl=0

Real F16 overhead breaking landing Correct. Am I also correct that the SMS will just tally the ordinance as fired? Meaning the count on that station goes down once pickled? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Exterior lights are to dim If you’re referring to limitations involving pixels and what can be rendered, yes I can sort of see your point. However, IRL you can see position lights (strobes much, much further) beyond 1 mile regardless of moonless night or not. Just because the sim can’t do that accurately, shouldn’t mean it doesn’t need adjustment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Question about the F-14 throttle and general fighter lingo
Eagle7907 replied to S. Low's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I agree. That’s sort of what I was thinking in lines of a DCS limitation. So all-in-all, it’s not correctly modeled, but for good reason. You can try PM IronMike, but I did see him posting something about his box being full. Are you on Facebook? Might try going that route? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro -
Questions about Stores config switch No where did I imply that the jet magically knows, he just assumed that’s what I meant. I was speaking in generality which he either doesn’t understand or just wants to pick a who-knows-it-all contest. This isn’t the first, and probably won’t be the last unfortunately. Guess I’ll just shut up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Questions about Stores config switch Sigh. Okay. That’s not at all what I even said. And again, you just reiterated what I’ve previously said. Not in the mood to argue semantics. Jesus, you got to be a damn lawyer to even post on here. A major turn off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
